Creature’s Plants + Coffee is a 12,000-square-foot ground-up retail café and greenhouse project in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, designed as a layered commercial environment that brings together plant retail, specialty coffee, and outdoor gathering within a single cohesive destination. The project is organized around a series of distinct yet connected zones, including a 50-foot greenhouse, specialty coffee bar, curated retail areas, indoor and outdoor plant displays, and generous exterior seating set within lush landscaping. Rather than functioning as a single-purpose storefront, the space was conceived as an immersive retail and hospitality environment where shopping, dining, and informal community use could coexist naturally. This project reflects experience in ground-up commercial design, retail architecture, café design, greenhouse environments, and outdoor-oriented planning. The result is a design-forward destination that balances circulation, planting, retail display, and food-and-beverage use while creating a warm, inviting setting for everyday use in Northeast Los Angeles.

The interior design of 3Walls was conceived as a calm, light-filled framework that allows architecture, art, and daily life to coexist in balance. Rather than relying on overt stylistic gestures, the interiors are defined by restraint—white surfaces softened by gray undertones, organic forms, and subtle shifts in texture that create interest without visual noise.

One can say that the redesign job on this Atlanta-area home was just what the doctor ordered, since physician Jim Linnane chose Cantoni designer Kohl Sudnikovich to help him re-imagine his 50s ranch-style residence. Online browsing, and a fondness for modern design, led the medical professional into our Georgia store/" title="Cantoni Modern Furniture Stores" class="crosslinking">showroom after purchasing the 50s-built home in early 2011. Since then, walls were torn down, the kitchen got a facelift, a lone loft morphed in to a music room, and the fireplace got haute while the pool became cool. As always, step one of the design process began with Kohl visiting the home to measure and scale-out floor plans. Next, ideas were tossed around and the client fell in love with the Mondrian sectional, in red. “Jim’s selection set the color scheme for the home’s living areas,” explains Kohl, “and he loves the punchy accents we added with art, both inside and out.” “Kohl worked closely with me, from start to finish, and guided me through the entire process,” explains Jim. “He helped me find a great contractor, and I’m particularly fond of the plan he conceived to replace the dated fireplace with a more contemporary linear gas box set in striated limestone.” Adds Kohl, “I love how we opened the loft and staircase walls by replacing them with metal and cable railings, and how we created a sitting area (in what was the dining room) to open to the living room we enhanced with mirrors.” A creative fix, like re-facing the cabinets, drawers and door panels in the kitchen, illustrates how something simple (and not too pricey) can make a big impact. The new construction luxury home was designed by our Carmel design-build studio with the concept of 'hygge' in mind – crafting a soothing environment that exudes warmth, contentment, and coziness without being overly ornate or cluttered. Inspired by Scandinavian style, the design incorporates clean lines and minimal decoration, set against soaring ceilings and walls of windows. These features are all enhanced by warm finishes, tactile textures, statement light fixtures, and carefully selected art pieces. In the living room, a bold statement wall was incorporated, making use of the 4-sided, 2-story fireplace chase, which was enveloped in large format marble tile. Each bedroom was crafted to reflect a unique character, featuring elegant wallpapers, decor, and luxurious furnishings. The primary bathroom was characterized by dark enveloping walls and floors, accentuated by teak, and included a walk-through dual shower, overhead rain showers, and a natural stone soaking tub. An open-concept kitchen was fitted, boasting state-of-the-art features and statement-making lighting. This project for a builder husband and interior-designer wife involved adding onto and restoring the luster of a c. 1883 Carpenter Gothic cottage in Barrington that they had occupied for years while raising their two sons. They were ready to ditch their small tacked-on kitchen that was mostly isolated from the rest of the house, views/daylight, as well as the yard, and replace it with something more generous, brighter, and more open that would improve flow inside and out. They were also eager for a better mudroom, new first-floor 3/4 bath, new basement stair, and a new second-floor master suite above. The design challenge was to conceive of an addition and renovations that would be in balanced conversation with the original house without dwarfing or competing with it. The new cross-gable addition echoes the original house form, at a somewhat smaller scale and with a simplified more contemporary exterior treatment that is sympathetic to the old house but clearly differentiated from it. Renovations included the removal of replacement vinyl windows by others and the installation of new Pella black clad windows in the original house, a new dormer in one of the son’s bedrooms, and in the addition. At the first-floor interior intersection between the existing house and the addition, two new large openings enhance flow and access to daylight/view and are outfitted with pairs of salvaged oversized clear-finished wooden barn-slider doors that lend character and visual warmth. A new exterior deck off the kitchen addition leads to a new enlarged backyard patio that is also accessible from the new full basement directly below the addition. Conceived of as a C-shaped house with a small private courtyard and a large private rear yard, this new house maximizes the floor area available to build on this smaller Palo Alto lot. An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) integrated into the main structure gave a floor area bonus. For now, it will be used for visiting relatives. One challenge of this design was keeping a low profile and proportional design while still meeting the FEMA flood plain requirement that the finished floor start about 3′ above grade. The new house has four bedrooms (including the attached ADU), a separate family room with a window seat, a music room, a prayer room, and a large living space that opens to the private small courtyard as well as a large covered patio at the rear. Mature trees around the perimeter of the lot were preserved, and new ones planted, for private indoor-outdoor living. A tired 80’s kitchen remodel was more than the new owner of this home could tolerate. Adjacent to it was a well lit reading room, and an idea was sparked. A new layout and design was conceived. Next, reclaimed wood from an old cabin was then collected to become the raw materials for the cabinetry and flooring. The cabinetry wood was milled and painted, the flooring was tooled just enough to show a century’s worth of weathered paint and still be an appropriate surface. High end appliances on the perimeter of the room and the main workspace in the center of the room allow for the many original windows with their low sills to remain. Finishing touches include the select primitive cabinets and a well populated hanging cast iron rack. The kitchen opens to a brick paved patio overlooking a deep backyard. The space that the old kitchen occupied is now an informal reading/family space.

This private residence in Toronto has the distinction of being the first building in North America to be conceived and built from the ground up using the principles of BioGeometry®. Built to the highest standards, it is a true “green” building, green in the context of being true to nature and sensitive to Earth’s demands. The application of BioGeometry® has created a habitat that promotes a frequency of optimum health and well-being for the occupants. Blending with the neighbouring houses (as required by the Building Department) and built with natural materials, this home is a beacon of health, affecting the surrounding neighbourhood. The BioGeometric principles used in the design and construction allow the house to have a positive effect on pollution and on any deleterious EMF emissions caused by high-tension wires and cellphone towers.

This comfortable house features a high living room with a mezzanine, while the kitchen and dining area are separated from the living space by a functional furniture wall. Contemporary living room designed as part of a modern house interior project in Poland, combining warm natural wood, soft beige upholstery, dark accents and carefully selected architectural details. Generous glazing brings greenery and daylight into the interior, while the high ceiling and elevated opening visible above the living zone emphasize the spacious character of the Komfoo house. The living area is centred around a large modular sectional sofa in a warm cream-beige fabric, composed of generously padded seats and broad chaise elements. Its soft, rounded profile creates a relaxed and comfortable seating arrangement, while several large cushions add to the informal character of the lounge. A textured light throw lies across the chaise, introducing another layer of softness and reinforcing the tactile quality of the neutral interior. Two overlapping round coffee tables form the centre of the seating arrangement, both finished in a deep black tone with vertically ribbed cylindrical bases. Their dark colour creates a strong contrast against the pale sofa and textured rug, while the different diameters give the composition a more dynamic, layered appearance. A small stack of books provides a discreet everyday detail on the smaller table. One of the strongest elements of this living room is the large feature wall finished with irregular natural timber panels. The individual pieces vary subtly in shape and orientation, creating a three-dimensional, textured surface that extends across the entire media wall. Set against this warm wood background, the large flat-screen television becomes a clearly defined focal point. Rather than being mounted directly to the wall, it stands on a slim black floor-supported structure, giving the media zone a lighter and more contemporary appearance. Natural timber flooring continues throughout the room, complementing the warm tones of the feature wall while contrasting with the pale woven rug beneath the seating area. The rug introduces a pronounced looped texture and visually gathers the sofa and coffee tables into one coherent lounge zone. Above, a large white cylindrical pendant suspended from a curved floor-to-ceiling arc provides a sculptural lighting element and adds a distinctive vertical accent to the otherwise restrained composition. Behind the seating area, a tall opening reveals the greenery outside and allows the garden to become part of the interior setting. The combination of the high living room, textured timber media wall, generous modular sofa, sculptural lighting and carefully balanced neutral palette gives the Komfoo interior a warm and sophisticated character. This approach reflects the work of STUDIO KONDE, an interior architect in Poznań developing contemporary, comfortable interiors as part of the Modelowedomy collection.

Sited on a Wyoming mountainside, just below the tree line, this home traverses a steep, east facing slope located just south of Grand Teton National Park. The house is conceived as a series of terraces offering views of the mountainous, vast landscape to the east and minimizing the visual impact of the building from the valley below. Designed for a family of six who share a love for the landscape and all mountain sports, the stepping volumes create separate zones for the family while remaining part of a single cohesive composition that responds to the land. The program includes a cantilevered living area with views to the west, north, and east; a shared fireplace between the dining area and the living area; and a kitchen which opens to the dining room and to an outside shaded terrace. The formal entry is up-slope—convenient to the guest parking area and skiers returning along a favorite, out-of- bounds ski run. The master bedroom occupies the highest point of the design and is above an office and studio, which can are converted into bedrooms. A roof top hot-tub is embedded into the roof of the lowest volume, and a fire table enlivens the mid-level terrace.

Was fortunate to work with Nathan Web and Kevin Walker of Reader & Swartz Architects on lighting this unique residential project. "The project involved working with an 1801 log cabin in rural West Virginia. The new additions were conceived of as a series of cabin and shed forms which interconnected to make modern open spaces, as well as to embrace the West Virginia fields, forests, and mountains" Reader & Swartz Architects, P.C.

The new imposing Trump Tower is a renovation that presents a new, modern design style. The refined work of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) Singapore, and its team of interior designers and architects are miraculous and as a result, they have conceived a new contemporary venue. Thus, Lodha Group and HBA Singapore were opted to face this challenge and along with Boca do Lobo, they have unified their powers into a spectacular interior style. In this lounge, iconic design concepts stand out with its imposing presence and a contemporary style, looking like a result of karst formations.
