An old fashioned style home was remodeled into a contemporary home. The bedroom has a lot of natural light with a sliding door wall and a clutter free look

This is a project completed some time back that shows an uncommonly creative approach to hiding some audiophile bookshelf speakers inside an attractive TV console.
We worked with the cabinet designer to come up with discreet horizontal, speaker cloth enclosures, righ and left, to hide these audio gems.
Inside the cabinet are all the Audio/Video/Internet Equipment with the Radio Frequency Remote allowing equipment to be operated with doors closed. Nothing cutting edge, just a clean, understated presentation.
The moral of the story don't let cookie cutter approaches to cabinetry constrain your possibilities.

The photovoltaic panels mounted on the garage roof provide more power on an annual basis then the home uses, enough to partially charge their electric car! The smaller home size allowed the couple to maximize their yard space. http://www.kipnisarch.com

Little Girl's Room
This room was built as an addition to the home. The owners brought us into the project during the room construction. We helped with the layout of the room. When we arrived to the project the door of the room opened to the left, which was the smallest part of the room. This was where the homeowners wanted to locate the day bed. That would have made the space too constrained. We recommended to locate the closet there instead and moved the bed to the largest part of the room and changed the direction in which the door opens, making this an expansion of space as you enter the room.

This landscape, which was constrained by a steep hillside and the location of a septic field and 8’ retaining wall, was designed to create an easy and functional outdoor entertaining environment for the client’s family and friends. Careful attention was paid to ensure all the features, from the three story deck to the kitchen island, maximized space and flowed seamlessly. Over one hundred large boulders, many covered with moss, help the plantings and hardscape blend into the natural wooded area below.

Trees and slopes, oh my! Discover how we designed an effective solar system on this shaded and rolling property that not only exceeds production estimates but maintains the aesthetics and beauty of this gorgeous home and landscape.
We work hard to get our customers what they want. This project required 44 modules. The roof area was constrained by trees, and the ground was constrained by a steep slope, property line setbacks. Additionally, we did not want to interrupt the views from the house across this lovely country property and into the woods.
Our solution, split the system up by using approx. 1/3rd of the modules on the roof with microinverters (due to shade possibilities), and the remaining 2/3rds on the ground. We kept the ground array at a low slope* to better conceal it from view. It was remarkably successful and has been exceeding production estimates.
*Tilt or slope of an array is not nearly as critical as orientation. 42*, roughly equal to our latitude, is good for a better average monthly production. A steeper slope will give you increased winter production, and a lower slope will give you greater summer production, which is really the best choice.
Why? The ideal angle of incidence at which the sun hits a module is 90*. At our latitude, on winter solstice Dec.21st, the sun is roughly 22.5* degrees above the horizon. At summer solstice it is approximately 70* above the horizon. Therefore, when the days are longer in the summer, a lower sloped array will be closer to 90* to the sun, and since the days are longer, the collection time is greatly increased.
