Westover chose bluestone as the primary path material for its easy maintenance and simplicity when laying the swank configuration of pathways around the house and outward to an entertaining pavilion. By cleverly hemming the bluestone with period brick that echoes the building material for the house for continuity, the result is a smart and sophisticated finish to a promenade that constantly draws the family and their pets outdoors. Brick was also used to rebuild the walled gardens for the much-needed privacy in a close-knit Yonkers community. And a graceful wrought iron gate enhances the arrival experience. But walls and gates were not the only element to screen and reveal views—plant selection was critical.

Navy, gray, and black are balanced by crisp whites and light wood tones. Eclectic mix of geometric shapes and organic patterns. Featuring 3D porcelain tile from Italy, hand-carved geometric tribal pattern in vanity's cabinet doors, hand-finished industrial-style navy/charcoal 24x24" wall tiles, and oversized 24x48" porcelain HD printed marble patterned wall tiles. Flooring in waterproof LVP, continued from bedroom into bathroom and closet. Brushed gold faucets and shower fixtures. Authentic, hand-pierced Moroccan globe light over tub for beautiful shadows for relaxing and romantic soaks in the tub. Vanity pendant lights with handmade glass, hand-finished gold and silver tones layers organic design over geometric tile backdrop. Open, glass panel all-tile shower with 48x48" window (glass frosted after photos were taken). Shower pan tile pattern matches 3D tile pattern. Arched medicine cabinet from West Elm. Separate toilet room with sound dampening built-in wall treatment for enhanced privacy. Frosted glass doors throughout. Vent fan with integrated heat option. Tall storage cabinet for additional space to store body care products and other bathroom essentials. Original bathroom plumbed for two sinks, but current homeowner has only one user for this bathroom, so we capped one side, which can easily be reopened in future if homeowner wants to return to a double-sink setup.

LANDFORM Inc.They say home is where the heart is. A place where people enter as guests and leave as friends. A place to laugh with your neighbors and watch as your children run, laugh and play. The O’Connor’s were seeking a way to transform their yard into usable space to provide all these things. As families grow and change it was time to update their landscape to reflect the maturing family and provide the perfect home setting for all.
The first thing that needed change was the high maintenance existing pond. This has been designed to be a beautiful, natural focal point in the south side of the backyard. Transformed to a low maintenance waterfall, this gorgeous site hides the noise from the alley and gives the backyard a tranquil, relaxed atmosphere. The water feature borders the boundary of the kid’s new sports court complete with an adjustable basketball hoop. This 93 square meter court is designed to be used in all four seasons. Designed with proper drainage to ensure the kids get optimal basketball time and a 6” curb was installed to allow for an outdoor rink in our colder months. The west side of the sports court is enclosed by a 0.75 meter high concrete retaining wall which contains mature spruce trees for shelter. One special request was to incorporate 2 existing large sandstone boulders into the new landscape. These were placed accordingly in between 2 spruce that have the largest open space between them, creating a natural, interesting sitting area for the kids. Landscape lighting was also incorporated into this bed to highlight the mature spruce trees at night.
The retaining wall continues along the west fence line and leads your eyes to a hidden seating area. The area is dropped down three steps from the sports court and secluded by an existing garden bed of trees and shrubs giving it a very cozy setting. The concrete was completed with a stamped Boardwalk pattern, allowing for 49 square meters of an inviting outdoor dining and BBQ area. When designing this area, future plans to phase in a BBQ island and pergola were implemented. To plan for this, the existing shed and BBQ area were removed, and extra concrete footings were installed accordingly to accommodate any added weight of a masonry outdoor kitchen addition.
Tucked away in the urban setting, the O’Connor’s new backyard is ready to share with friends and family. The kids now have room to run and play between the sports court and remaining grass area and the adults can relax while enjoying the sounds and smells of the outdoors.

A wall of sliding windows in the great room and lower recreation room showcases the panoramic view of the three-acre, treed property to blend indoor with outdoor living. The expansive covered deck offers a built-in grill, fire pit, hot tub deck and ample seating to experience the best of Colorado outdoor living.
The Master retreat includes two fireplaces, a large soaking tub and a spacious, zero-entry glass shower. The closet features a custom shelving system, tall windows and a large bench for putting on shoes or placing suitcases for packing. It also offers direct access to the main-level laundry room.
The heated garage offers generous space for four cars, plus additional space for storage or an excellent workshop. The lower-level includes three bedrooms and four baths, laundry, play area, wine room and large rec room with space for multiple game tables.

The Idea
The client came to F9 with their own sketches — early ideas drawn from the fractured symmetry of natural crystals. They envisioned a minimalist refuge that was as expressive as it was efficient.
We took that spark and shaped it into a refined architectural statement: a simple rectangle capped by a striking, asymmetrical roof that catches the light like a cut gem.
Design and Craft
The defining detail — a roof so thin it appears almost weightless — demanded careful problem-solving. Standard framing would have compromised the delicate profile. Instead, our team engineered a custom edge detail that maintains the sleek form while ensuring structural integrity and energy performance.

Every square inch is intentional. Built-in cabinetry wraps the walls, and a fold-down Murphy bed disappears to reveal open living space. Precision Knotty Alder Millwork: Every door is a traditional Shaker-style panel, hand-selected to highlight the complex grain and organic knots of the Alder. This consistency in material ties the kitchen directly to the custom vanities and trim found throughout the rest of the residence.
Furniture-Grade Construction: Note the substantial crown molding that caps the unit and the seamless fit into the room's alcove. This isn't "out of the box" cabinetry; it’s a site-specific installation that utilizes heavy-duty, oil-rubbed bronze hardware for a high-end tactile feel.

This is a home we initially built in 1995 and after it sold in 2014 we were commissioned to come back and remodel the interior of the home.
We worked with internationally renowned architect Will Bruder on the initial design on the home. The goal of home was to build a modern hillside home which made the most of the vista upon which it sat. A few ways we were able to achieve this were the unique, floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the side of the property overlooking Scottsdale, a private courtyard off the master bedroom and bathroom, and a custom commissioned sculpture Mayme Kratz.
Stonecreek's particular role in the project were to work alongside both the clients and the architect to make sure we were able to perfectly execute on the vision and design of the project. A very unique component of this house is how truly custom every feature is, all the way from the window systems and the bathtubs all the way down to the door handles and other features.

Working closely with the homeowner as well as the city of Yonkers to guide the restoration, their first feat was to install a proper drainage system with catchments capable of keeping storm water from the massive roof flowing away. Before anything was visible on the surface, extensive work was accomplished underground. Meanwhile, a plan was drafted to honor the era of the house. Westover chose bluestone as the primary path material for its easy maintenance and simplicity when laying the swank configuration of pathways around the house and outward to an entertaining pavilion. By cleverly hemming the bluestone with period brick that echoes the building material for the house for continuity, the result is a smart and sophisticated finish to a promenade that constantly draws the family and their pets outdoors. Brick was also used to rebuild the walled gardens for the much-needed privacy in a close-knit Yonkers community. And a graceful wrought iron gate enhances the arrival experience. But walls and gates were not the only element to screen and reveal views—plant selection was critical.
Few landscapers would go the extra mile to find period perfect plants for a 19th Century restoration, but Robert Welsch saw the importance of authenticity in creating the mood. He repeated large trees—such as an exquisite London plane tree in the front yard—to balance the expression in the back. Recognizing the need for immediate stature, he selected a weeping willow to gain instant volume, giving the landscape a sense of deep roots. A weeping Camperdown elm adds sophisticated drama to the walled stroll gardens. Hydrangeas were incorporated for their billowy stature, easy maintenance, and long blooming season. Similarly, all the plants in residence play their part in the display that goes beyond the usual spring fling to extend throughout the growing season—offering visual interest even when they are not performing. From spring bulbs to autumn perennials, there is never a dull moment. Meanwhile, every step along the way was a collaboration working hand-in-hand with the homeowner and the city to make certain that the historic landmark status of the property was upheld and honored.
