Pamela's living space is modern, elegant and a little bit Zen. Our job was to bring in a layer of comfy romance, so I focused on furnishing the space with mushy comfort, pure white slipcovers, warm woods, breezy linens and beautiful flowers, while respecting the modern edges. We used soft, white-linen-covered furniture, flowing linen gauze curtains to divide up the open plan spaces, flowers, of course, and a chandelier to add twinkle. In her previous home, Pamela's collection of beautiful books were displayed on open shelves in a chaotic but organized way, but the bookshelves did not translate and so we housed the entire collection in cabinets on either side of the fireplace behind heavy doors of reclaimed wood. This glass mural of 1,5” thickness created by Glass Artist Mailhot reveals an artistic texture with impressive movements and striking colors. The rooftop is subdivided by a home office space and separate residential area. The terrace conversion introduces elements that create a multifunctional green roof and arboretum. A steppable green walkway, laced with thyme, is positioned between a diverse range of perennials and provides access to both spaces. Selection of the vegetation was inspired by the client’s French Alp origins. On the north terrace there is a designed sculptural fountain. This is a prime example of premium quality craftsmanship in the landscape design/build business. By redesigning the front entrance to create a porch/landing with an additional parking court, we significantly improved the appearance and value of the property in Rye, New York. The new driveway was constructed of a porous asphalt material which improved the stormwater management adjacent to the wetland. The landscape planting featured a variety of long blooming, native flowering perennials which attract beneficial insect species. This contributes to the successful management of the landscape with sustainable organics. The custom kinetic sculpture adds a nice finishing touch. Instead of a typical evergreen hedge, native clethra was planted on the property border to define the space while contributing fragrance, grace and pollinators to what easily could have been a less active, sterile space. Heavily planted ground cover natives such as ajuga, creeping jenny, Irish moss, sweet woodruff and geraniums made the need for weeding practically obsolete. The use of ground covers as mulch was most effective for resource management.

At 66 stories and nearly 800 feet tall, Architect Sir David Adjaye’s first New York City high-rise tower is an important contribution to the New York City skyline. 130 William’s hand-cast concrete facade creates a striking form against the cityscape of Lower Manhattan. Open-plan kitchens are characterized by custom Pedini Italian millwork and cabinetry, state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and cantilevered marble countertops. Elegant Salvatori Italian marble highlights residence bathrooms featuring spacious walk-in showers, soaking tubs, custom Pedini Italian vanities, and illuminated medicine cabinets.

New custom cabinetry contributes twelve 24” wide, deep shelves to easily accommodate all linens, towels and larger toiletries. The lower portion of the cabinet is dedicated to lightweight laundry baskets on glides, easily transported to the downstairs laundry room. Whites and coloured items can be pre-sorted in the two baskets.

The inviting atmosphere in this house is palpable. Although the finishes chosen are luxe they remain approachable. Bohemian rugs grace the concrete and wood beam floors. A decorative hood reminiscent of rusty corrugated metal sits atop the expansive cooktop. The down-home feel is subtle and never detracts from the sophisticated aura of the space. The functional design and high quality Medallion cabinetry were our contribution to this gorgeous project and we are proud to have been a part of it.

My client loved the idea of having an interesting space to write notes but also contributed to the style of the house. We decided chalkboard paint has been overdone so I came up with this large paper roll on a curtain rod.

Situated near the water in Old Greenwich, this landscape style fits in with a more natural and relaxed look. The landscape appears to come alive when the grasses and tall perennials sway in the ocean breezes. And long blooming hydrangeas and roses contribute intense color hues throughout the summer.

15-25' Tall. 25' Wide. Full sun to part shade. Dogwood trees are widely known for their delicate beauty, and the kousa variety adds a toughness that makes this species an excellent choice for home landscapes and urban areas. The tree also makes a visual contribution year-round. In spring, it produces a heavenly array of star-like blooms. In summer, its intriguing canopy of layered branches provides shade and beauty. In autumn, it offers spectacular bright red color. Even in winter, this tree has an appeal all its own with bark that resembles a jigsaw puzzle. The spring blooms are probably the tree’s largest selling point—and its most misunderstood. The white “petals” aren’t actually petals at all. They are modified leaves called bracts that surround the small, greenish-yellow, insignificant flowers.
