This 6,100-square-foot Prairie-inspired transitional estate in Grand Islands at Seven Oaks, Bakersfield, reinterprets Prairie architecture through a contemporary lens. The dining room features a dramatic tray ceiling finished with natural cork at the upper level and framed by a concealed light shelf, adding warmth, texture and indirect illumination overhead. A contemporary chandelier creates a central focal point, while large-format porcelain tile extends across the floor for a clean, understated foundation.

This was a Green Building project so wood materials has to be FSC Certified and NAUF. The amber bamboo used (which is horizontal grain run), is a sustainable wood. The The interiors are certified maple plywood. Low VOC clear water-based finish.
