A black walnut dining table, suspended on a steel cantilever base, which is mounted directly into the cement floor. We'd like to thank Yumi Kagamihara, interior designer, who invited us to collaborate on this stunning home project. Slab Art Studios designed the walnut table top; the homeowner designed the base. We're delighted to see the final piece in its beautiful home setting.
This black walnut slab holds a more organic statement than most. Unlike most dining-table slabs, we did not flatten it completely to accommodate traditional dining. Rather, we left some of the subtle curves and undulations garnered from three years of air- and kiln-drying. Then we smoothed it out just enough to provide an inviting, usable surface.

This New England home has the essence of a traditional home, yet offers a modern appeal. The home renovation and addition involved moving the kitchen to the addition, leaving the resulting space to become a formal dining and living area.
The extension over the garage created an expansive open space on the first floor. The large, cleverly designed space seamlessly integrates the kitchen, a family room, and an eating area.
A substantial center island made of soapstone slabs has ample space to accommodate prepping for dinner on one side, and the kids doing their homework on the other. The pull-out drawers at the end contain extra refrigerator and freezer space. Additionally, the glass backsplash tile offers a refreshing luminescence to the area. A custom designed informal dining table fills the space adjacent to the center island.
Paint colors in keeping with the overall color scheme were given to the children. Their resulting artwork sits above the family computers. Chalkboard paint covers the wall opposite the kitchen area creating a drawing wall for the kids. Around the corner from this, a reclaimed door from the grandmother's home hangs in the opening to the pantry. Details such as these provide a sense of family and history to the central hub of the home.

This dining room combines modern, rustic and classic styles. The colors are inspired by the original art work placed on the accent wall. Dining room accessories are understated to compliment the dining room painting. Custom made draperies complete the look. Natural fabric for the upholstery chairs is selected to work with the modern dining room rug. A rustic chandelier is high above the dining room table to showcase the painting. Almost every room in the house offers stunning views of the outdoor living space and golf course. The dining room is subtly elegant creating an intimate dining space but also a space to enjoy looking outdoors. The custom chairs have a curved back design to contrast with the linear dining table. The host and hostess chairs add texture and Texas chic with their velvet alligator skin fabric. Permanently set, the tableware sparkles under the crystal chandelier revitalized by a talented faux finisher.

The Meryton Table is inspired by French country kitchens of the past. The table features a sturdy planked top and turned legs.
Tabletop is available in our classic Espresso or Distressed White finish. Optional hammered steel corner brackets in Black or Copper can be added. Light assembly required (comes assembled for local pickup).
All of our tables are handcrafted from solid wood in our woodworking shop in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Our furniture is finished with a multi-step process of distressing and hand-applying varnish to give each piece the look of a cherished antique. Each of our works showcase the natural characteristics of wood, including variations in color, mineral streaks, knots and burls. In addition, our finishing process highlights the organic texture of wood with its pores, ridges, slits and grooves; each piece is a tactile work of art that is truly meant to be appreciated by touch. Every decorative bracket is made from steel, hand-cut and meticulously hammered to create a one-of-a-kind rustic accent for our wood furniture.
Available for local pickup or shipment within 5-7 business days.

Small space living solutions are used throughout this contemporary 596 square foot tiny house. Adjustable height table in the entry area serves as both a coffee table for socializing and as a dining table for eating. Curved banquette is upholstered in outdoor fabric for durability and maximizes space with hidden storage underneath the seat. Kitchen island has a retractable countertop for additional seating while the living area conceals a work desk and media center behind sliding shoji screens.
Calming tones of sand and deep ocean blue fill the tiny bedroom downstairs. Glowing bedside sconces utilize wall-mounting and swing arms to conserve bedside space and maximize flexibility.

The tropical dining room is grounded with a stunning custom basket pendant that hangs above the live edge monkey pod dining table. The floors are gray porcelain tile, and the walls and vaulted ceilings are white nickle gap paneling that flows up from the walls into the ceiling.
