I had the pleasure of working with Gemma this past year on a major remodeling of all the rooms on the lower level of my home. We had lived in our house for 10 years and while I had wanted to make changes, I was apprehensive of hiring a new designer. After following and admiring Gemma’s work over the years, I decided to set up a consultation with her. Any reservations that I had about working with a designer were lifted after meeting Gemma. She is warm, personable, professional and a truly gifted designer whose main goal is to make sure her clients are happy with the design. Gemma has an incredible eye for seeing how a minor change in a room could make a huge difference. If I couldn’t visualize it, she found example photographs to show me and even took pictures of the room and photoshopped them so I could get a visual idea. Throughout the entire design process, Gemma gave me many options based on my overall preferences and not once did I feel like my voice was not being heard. I have never worked with anyone who is so organized and follows up with every single detail. She was in constant communication with me regarding every step of the process. She stayed within the budget and would always try to get the best price from her vendors and tradespeople. Now that the project is done, I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Gemma’s beautiful design work has updated and elevated our living spaces, yet at the same time reflects our tastes and how we live in our home.

We were referred to Gemma Parker Design by a former client when we moved to Chicago’s north shore from Texas, looking to furnish, decorate, and refresh our main living areas. Gemma was a joy to worth with, very responsive, detailed, and thorough in her approach; going above and beyond when she didn’t have to. For example, we moved in early November and she worked tirelessly with Chicago-based manufacturers to get our larger pieces installed by the holidays, and when the frame of our antique French mirror was mistakenly damaged by a contractor, Gemma had it impeccably repaired within days. Gemma has a strong design and color vision, and is also collaborative wanting you to love every piece. Her Contractors working in our home were best of class and a very good indication of Gemma’s ability was the high regard her contractors have of her company. As our project grew to painting the entire first floor including kitchen cabinets, she listened to our ideas and she gave us many options. Her main focus is to ensure her clients are in love with the outcome. We would gladly recommend Gemma Parker Design for any high-end project.

My wife and I have been working with Gemma Parker Design for the last 7 months, after years of my parents working with her on some of their projects, and I can say it was easily the best part of our home building experience. This was our first home purchase, which we did while planning our wedding, and Gemma not only took the burden off of us but also made it an enjoyable experience. We would look forward to the zoom calls and installs with her, Stephen and the team! Their balance of professionalism and attention with actual personality and character is very special. Gemma is so detail oriented, inclusive in her ideas and where her vision wants to take things, very intentional with her plan but creative and willing to explore options. When you trust someone that much it's a big box you can check off of your own list, knowing that Gemma and her team are not only on top of what they're tasked to do but they take the next 2-3 steps you didn't even think of to make this a true white-glove experience. Now that we're wrapping up the project, the final product has exceeded our expectations. The attention to all of the details is fully coming through - the pieces that tie together room to room, the fabrics, the textures and colors. This house has a lot of unique spaces, but she was able to tie them together in a seamless way with colors and design that will be timeless and attractive for years. We couldn't recommend Gemma enough and are already planning on adding onto the house so we can hire her again :) thanks Gemma.

Gemma helped us with a complete redesign of our family's 120-year-old northern Michigan lake home. I wish I could give Gemma Parker Design more than five stars! The design outcome far exceeded our high expectations. The color, texture, and materials are fresh and new but still appropriate for an historic property. Gemma did an excellent job redecorating three rooms in our home. We feel like we are living in a new home that is not only more beautiful, but also much more functional. She went above and beyond the call of duty attending to every detail, even having a special matching, removable cover made for the sectional where she knew our family dog would be sleeping.
