Carpet was ripped up from the floor of the entire space that was ten painted to simulate a subway map. A metal graffiti-adorned disc inserted into the bar increases seating capacity. Three different, but similar chairs/stools provide seating at varying heights and colors. The far wall with 6 corrugated metal sliding doors suggest the siding on a subway car. Hand holds discovered at the New York Transit Authority add to the subway theme. Photography: Norman Sizemore

This kitchen counter and window were custom designed to allow the homeowner to close and lock the double hung window directly onto the counter surface, without the exposed lip of the lower window frame. This was achieved by dropping a standard stock window in the exterior wall below the kitchen counter and custom Fiji Mahogany surfaces, prior to the installation of both surfaces. The quartz counter top and custom outdoor Fiji Mahogany bar were set flush with one another in order for the window to close directly on top of the wood the surface. The custom wood bar surface was installed 8" into the interior of the kitchen, further expanding the seamless design and adding a touch of wood that is mirrored by an identical custom counter within the space. The Custom Fiji Mahogany counters were laminated and finished with epoxy and marine varnish to withstand the outdoor elements. Photo and window specification and design by Carlene Tripp-Crowell. This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. If you hate your brick or just want something unique this is a great option!

The previous year Finesse, Inc. remodeled this home in Monrovia and created the 9-lite window at the entry of the home. After experiencing some intense weather we were called back to build this new entry way. The entry consists of 1/3 covered area and 2/3 area exposed to allow some light to come in. Fabricated using square steel posts and beams with galvanized hangers and Redwood lumber. A steel cap was placed at the front of the entry to really make this Modern home complete. The fence and trash enclosure compliment the curb appeal this home brings.

Engineered cedar siding creates beautiful gray-blue tones at the exterior of the home, while adding a textural element to activate the simple exterior design.

We built the privacy screens with 1 × 6 boards of beautiful western red cedar, and we stained them. The 8-foot cedar privacy screen beside the hot tub is the largest of the three. Because the screens are not solid, but have small gaps between boards, they allow some light into the area. Looking out from within the seating area, the homeowners see a bit of daylight through the privacy screens.

This modern wood fence was constructed to provide curb appeal to a traditional block wall in front of an ranch style home in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona. Anchored directly onto the cement block this fence was the perfect simple facelift for this home.

This is an example of a mid-sized mid-century modern partial sun front yard concrete paver landscaping in Los Angeles for spring.
