Style is transitional farmhouse. Homeowner wanted to use the guest room for sewing but was concerned about giving up her guest bedroom. I mentioned the idea of a wall bed which she loved! Next we will be designing and installing a rolling sewing island. The outer cabinets in the photo will store all of her sewing items. The outlets above the black tops will be used for lamps on each side of the bed. The black shelves on the sides of the bed will display family photos and her favorite decorative items. I LOVE the black and white combination! The large black crown really makes a nice statement. The front of the bed is a custom style our amazing shop built!

A circular concrete retaining wall provides a welcoming sitting area nestled in the lower part of the landscape. Rustic built-in bunk beds incorporated into the design allow a cozy spot for dream and play while still retaining the original design aesthetic. Endcap shelving solves the inevitable need for space for books and toys. Rods give this art display a more substantial look than wires. And we are cabinet dealers for 8 nationally distributed cabinet lines much like traditional showrooms. Appointment Information Unlike full showrooms open to the general public, Main Line Kitchen Design works only by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled days, nights, and weekends either in your home or in our office and selection center. During office appointments we display clients kitchens on a flat screen TV and help them look through 100’s of sample doorstyles, almost a thousand sample finish blocks and sample kitchen cabinets. During home visits we can bring samples, take measurements, and make design changes on laptops showing you what your kitchen can look like in the very room being renovated. This is more convenient for our customers and it eliminates the expense of staffing and maintaining a larger space that is open to walk in traffic. We pass the significant savings on to our customers and so we sell cabinetry for less than other dealers, even home centers like Lowes and The Home Depot. We believe that since a web site like Houzz.com has over half a million kitchen photos, any advantage to going to a full kitchen showroom with full kitchen displays has been lost. Almost no customer today will ever get to see a display kitchen in their door style and finish because there are just too many possibilities. And the design of each kitchen is unique anyway. Our design process allows us to spend more time working on our customer’s designs. This is what we enjoy most about our business and it is what makes the difference between an average and a great kitchen design. When the homeowners decided to move from San Francisco to the Central Coast, they were looking for a more relaxed lifestyle, a unique place to call their own, and an environment conducive to raising their young children. They found it all in San Luis Obispo. They had owned a house here in SLO for several years that they had used as a rental. As the homeowners own and run a contracting business and relocation was not impossible, they decided to move their business and make this SLO rental into their dream home. As a rental, the house was in a bare-bones condition. The kitchen had old white cabinets, boring white tile counters, and a horrendous vinyl tile floor. Not only was the kitchen out-of-date and old-fashioned, it was also pretty worn out. The tiles were cracking and the grout was stained, the cabinet doors were sagging, and the appliances were conflicting (ie: you could not open the stove and dishwasher at the same time). To top it all off, the kitchen was just too small for the custom home the homeowners wanted to create. Thus enters San Luis Kitchen. At the beginning of their quest to remodel, the homeowners visited San Luis Kitchen’s showroom and fell in love with our Tuscan Grotto display. They sat down with our designers and together we worked out the scope of the project, the budget for cabinetry and how that fit into their overall budget, and then we worked on the new design for the home starting with the kitchen. As the homeowners felt the kitchen was cramped, it was decided to expand by moving the window wall out onto the existing porch. Besides the extra space gained, moving the wall brought the kitchen window out from under the porch roof – increasing the natural light available in the space. (It really helps when the homeowner both understands building and can do his own contracting and construction.) A new arched window and stone clad wall now highlights the end of the kitchen. As we gained wall space, we were able to move the range and add a plaster hood, creating a focal nice focal point for the kitchen. The other long wall now houses a Sub-Zero refrigerator and lots of counter workspace. Then we completed the kitchen by adding a wrap-around wet bar extending into the old dining space. We included a pull-out pantry unit with open shelves above it, wine cubbies, a cabinet for glassware recessed into the wall, under-counter refrigerator drawers, sink base and trash cabinet, along with a decorative bookcase cabinet and bar seating. Lots of function in this corner of the kitchen; a bar for entertaining and a snack station for the kids. After the kitchen design was finalized and ordered, the homeowners turned their attention to the rest of the house. They asked San Luis Kitchen to help with their master suite, a guest bath, their home control center (essentially a deck tucked under the main staircase) and finally their laundry room. Here are the photos: I wish I could show you the rest of the house. The homeowners took a poor rental house and turned it into a showpiece! They added custom concrete floors, unique fiber optic lighting, large picture windows, and much more. There is now an outdoor kitchen complete with pizza oven, an outdoor shower and exquisite garden. Wood looking tile creates a chevron pattern on the floor as it transitions from the hardwood flooring in the Master Bedroom. Double sinks are under-mounted below white marble countertops atop the custom designed vanity (EKD) in solid wood, painted with 8 layers of bronze metal paint. 6 usable storage drawers and 8 linear feet of exposed towel storage add to the organization appeal of this custom piece. Polished nickel hardware, light sconces and accessories compliment the Polished nickel Calista Bathroom fixtures by Kohler serving the sinks, shower and freestanding tub. Frameless glass shower doors swing on polished nickel hinges and shower walls are covered in stone tile with a smooth matte finish making cleaning nice and easy. Stone tile niches were created to hold 16 votive candles in the wall above the elevated tub for a relaxing spa-like experience. * The Bathroom vanity is a custom designed piece by Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson. White marble laser cut in an oval shape, laid horizontally and embedded in gray grout, covers an entire wall spanning from the toilet and on into the shower. In this Bathroom. As you can see, our wine cellar builders installed an arch display in this custom wine cellar Atlanta Georgia. The purpose was purely to increase aesthetics, and the arch was crafted from redwood, just like the wine racks surrounding it. Our clients use the arch to showcase a painting. The tabletop provides a display area for wine glass and wine bottles. The top section are individual bottle openings and a display row at the middle section. The wine racks were constructed from Premium Redwoood finished with a Satin lacquer. A parent-freindly playroom means that this room can act as a gathering place for the entire family!!! A comfy custom sectional with a custom ottoman to put your feet up on, a large screen TV wall for adults and kids alike! The built-in bookcases have pull out desktops hidden away with patterned ottomans as desk chairs or can double as a footrest while lounging with a good book on the window seat. Two whiteboards and a magnetic board to display the very best art projects, handwriting and math problems. Each lit with the kelly green wall pandants. A multishelf gutter style bookcase wall under the vintage letters that say it all "PLAY!" Kid books on the bottom shelves with mom's parenting magazines on the top shelf. Custom drapes frame in the bay window and help seperate the bold damask wallpaper from the rest of the space. The bay is complete with two art tables, four chairs and a roll of white paper where the creativity can start. Checkerboard ceramic tile floor in 24" x 24" tiles set the tone for the pattern-filled playroom. The custom rug with bold raised polka dots adds comfort for little ones who want to lay on the ground and add a dramatic twist to the entire room.
