Design by Brett Broussard of Pelican Builders Group:
The creation of a chef’s dream kitchen in the Maison Blanche Plantation is infused in south Louisiana history. The main kitchen space is a canvas of stainless steel, with a pop of color in the bright daffodil yellow knobs on the 48” Platinum range. The size is more than generous, but the layout is efficient for both food preparation and entertaining. In addition to the commercial-grade features of the appliances, the client’s reason for selecting BlueStar® refrigeration was simple: they wanted the capacity to handle large catering trays and volumes of food for entertaining. The refrigerator’s fully extending bottom shelf is designed to fit a full-size commercial sheet pan — as is the freezer shelf – that way, extra-large pans prepped with pastry or hors d’oeuvres can go straight from the refrigerator or freezer into an oversized BlueStar® oven, another brand hallmark. Since the interior is fully customizable, shelves and bins can be easily changed to fit any entertaining need. When special occasions come around, from birthdays to holidays, the shelves are fully flexible to handle large food trays or oversized cakes.

This client's home backs up to a beautiful native Beech and Tulip woodland with an intermittent stream running through the middle of the site. After mistakenly over-clearing the natural forest saplings, the once lush woods was now bare. Called in to help re-vegetate the woodland, we designed and created a new path network through the woodland so that the client could enjoy and experience their new garden. Planted with large masses of native perennials, shade grasses and spring bulbs this back yard is now lush once again.

Patio - mid-sized traditional backyard stamped concrete patio idea in Other with a fire pit and no cover

Designed by Robert Bentley Adams and Associates, this 1,850-square-foot, two-story addition and renovation in Alexandria boasts a large great room with game room, built-in bar, breakfast room, and living room. A second-story master suite with raised ceiling offers walk-in closets and a spa-like master bath. The homeowners originally sought an addition that would complement the existing style of the home, and provide more space, light and storage. (The home has no basement.) Their plans evolved to include a handsome new two-car garage with second floor at the end of a brick driveway. A stone walkway connects the garage with a new rear entry into a mudroom, and a colonnade frames a peaceful, beautifully landscaped back patio and yard. Within the original structure of the home, the homeowners updated their original kitchen and outfitted a new laundry room.
