This charming home sits on a 500-acre horse farm in Lexington, KY, providing a peaceful retreat for a family of four and their two dogs. The homeowner not only lives here but also manages the property on behalf of the horse farm owner’s. The farm owner wanted to ensure that the family had a comfortable, welcoming space to unwind after a day’s hard work. To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with Ayers Custom Homes to design an abode full of thoughtful, beautiful details. Every aspect, from the custom floors to the ceiling details, was carefully planned. We handpicked every feature in this home, resulting in a space filled with intricate, custom touches that make it stand out. The goal was to create a home that feels cozy, comfortable, and ready to be lived in from day one. The more time you spend here, the more you’ll notice the fine details—like the stone arches, coffered ceilings in the living room, detailed trim work, hickory floors, wood beams, and more. This home was crafted with love and precision, ensuring it’s a perfect fit for this wonderful family.

This Italian-made workhorse is designed to handle the most demanding cooking tasks. The 16,000 btu power burner is located in the center of the cooking surface where it can safely accommodate the largest stock pots. The high efficiency triple burner spreads the heat under the bottom of the cookware for faster cooking results. Two turbo electric convection ovens will prepare your meals faster and with better results than a conventional oven. The large oven will handle a 25-pound turkey with ease and the small oven is perfect for any day to day cooking and can be used alone for energy savings. A full width compartment provides plenty of storage. You can also customize your range to suit your kitchen decor with optional round oven handles, island trims and four designer colors to suit your style.

This 4,000 square-foot private residence is located at one of the city’s most prestigious addresses: the Intercontinental of Boston. Conveniently situated downtown near the waterfront, the home offers incredible city views and easy access to Boston’s most reputable restaurants, shops, and parks. A complete, full gut renovation, this transformation brings in the most contemporary and current design flair and is punctuated with strong millwork detail. Full home automation allows for ease and comfort of day-to-day living. Premium appliance package and textured finishes in all areas of the house provide a plush look and sophisticated feel.

In coming to Minnesota from Iceland, the owners of Home 4 found themselves more than 3,000 miles away from home, hoping to build something new – literally and figuratively – that would feel like home for their family of five. They purchased a scenic piece of land in Rochester and identified a general idea of the spaces they would need, but they struggled with how to define a sense of character that would incorporate their culture and identity into the design. The architect-led design team was tasked with creating a house that would help establish the homeowners’ roots in a new country while still recalling familiar comforts of their heritage. The result is a warm family home that combines elements of Nordic design with a touch of American farmhouse aesthetic. Gracious proportions, custom woodworking, and cheerful details create a welcoming atmosphere, while modern conveniences like a large mudroom and second-floor laundry help day-to-day life feel easy. Around each corner, a new detail greets the eye, from the Lundie-inspired column at the staircase, to the double-heart detail inscribed in the woodwork, to the custom table designed for the breakfast nook. Each element is lovely individually, but experiencing the holistic effect as the details intentionally pair and play together helps to craft a house that feels like home. Most important, the homeowners’ history, heritage, and hopes are melded together into a home that represents their family. Each unique element and carefully considered material combine to form a house that feels as if it could have belonged to this family for generations, even though it is brand new.

Imagine a lazy morning in this casually elegant kitchen, sipping your freshly brewed coffee as natural light pours through floor to ceiling windows. Then imagine being in this kitchen sipping your morning coffee and gazing out at the beautiful rolling landscape of one of New England’s prestigious golf clubs. Imagine . . . The owner of this beautiful contemporary kitchen with its idyllic setting imagined ! And her kitchen designer captured her imagination and brought this inspired space to life in both style and function. Columns of stainless steel are balanced by columns with the warmth of birch wood with just a hint of stain. On an adjacent wall one more wood column rises from floor to ceiling. A strong horizontal line of cabinetry seemingly intersects the vertical columns. While contemporary in design, the cabinetry in this kitchen found its beginnings with the Shakers and the designers of the Craftsman period. Increasing the size of the framing on the doors, accenting the cabinet shapes with square-edged trim and blocks of wood at varying depths, thinly slicing and randomly sizing the natural stone on the accent wall, and choosing oversized stainless steel handles definitively bring this kitchen forward in time. Recycled glass countertops in a soft, quiet color continue to help this kitchen live so harmoniously with its surroundings. As the day unfolds and the lazy morning turns into ambitious meal preparation, it is clear that this kitchen is a chef’s delight. The stainless steel columns incorporate double ovens, a microwave and a steam oven. Two wood columns house a refrigerator and a freezer. The separate wood column reveals pantry storage, and a TV is hidden behind a lift-up door. On the island with its clean, rectangular shape two dishwashers flank the sink. Imagine ! how much more pleasant the task of clean-up is when you overlook the family living space and vista beyond. In the cook center, a complement of drawers provides excellent storage for pots and pans, utensils, spices and herbs around the 5-burner cooktop. A powerful vent with a rear exhaust maintains the horizontal design of the space. And the freshly-brewed coffee in the morning ? It comes from a built-in coffee maker that’s just around the corner from the refrigerator. Along with a wine refrigerator, it creates a beverage and serving center between the kitchen and the dining room. The homeowner envisioned a kitchen that is as beautiful as its surroundings. Her kitchen designer wanted her kitchen to be as functional as it is beautiful. Both agree that this kitchen lives up to their expectations!

This family-centric log home loft features an eye-catching post & beam truss. The beam & purlin roof members are stained to contrast the T&G ceiling. Overall, this area is warm and inviting and beckons for a game night. This is a modified Pleasant Grove design, built with 6x12 Traditional Solid Kiln-Dried Logs, manufactured by Timberhaven Log & Timber Homes.

This Olathe remodel focused on improving functionality, increasing storage, and creating a cohesive design across the kitchen, powder bath, and laundry room. In the kitchen, the layout was thoughtfully refined to better support daily routines while maximizing usable space. Custom cabinetry and tailored storage solutions were incorporated throughout, creating a more efficient and organized environment without sacrificing style. The design leans transitional, blending classic details with clean lines for a timeless, approachable feel. Adjacent spaces were reimagined with the same level of intention. This Modern Spa Master Bathroom went through some major changes! A more contemporary look and wheelchair access is what the couple wanted. Pulling from Japanese design Morey Remodeling created a tranquil space with custom painted cabinetry and imported tile. Includes a new floating vanity with touch LED light medicine cabinets, Delta touch technology faucets and custom backsplash. The jacuzzi tub is the perfect addition to the roll in shower with multiple shower heads. Now the homeowners can age in place with a timeless and functional design. ADA compliant should incorporate features that aid in your day-to-day life without sacrificing visual aesthetic.

A cozy breakfast nook set off of the kitchen and overlooking the back yard. During the day, this room is flooded with daylight and is the best place in the house to be. Vintage Edward Wormley chairs are mixed with a marble top Saarinen table with traditional beadboard and paned windows. This Cobble Hill Brownstone for a family of five is a fun and captivating design, the perfect blend of the wife’s love of English country style and the husband’s preference for modern. The young power couple, her the co-founder of Maisonette and him an investor, have three children and a dog, requiring that all the surfaces, finishes and, materials used throughout the home are both beautiful and durable to make every room a carefree space the whole family can enjoy. The primary design challenge for this project was creating both distinct places for the family to live their day to day lives and also a whole floor dedicated to formal entertainment. The clients entertain large dinners on a monthly basis as part of their profession. We solved this by adding an extension on the Garden and Parlor levels. This allowed the Garden level to function as the daily family operations center and the Parlor level to be party central. The kitchen on the garden level is large enough to dine in and accommodate a large catering crew. On the parlor level, we created a large double parlor in the front of the house; this space is dedicated to cocktail hour and after-dinner drinks. The rear of the parlor is a spacious formal dining room that can seat up to 14 guests. The middle "library" space contains a bar and facilitates access to both the front and rear rooms; in this way, it can double as a staging area for the parties. The remaining three floors are sleeping quarters for the family and frequent out of town guests. Designing a row house for private and public functions programmatically returns the building to a configuration in line with its original design. This project was published in Architectural Digest. This backyard was a design challenge due to the triangular shape of the landscape, so we came up with a diagonal solution. The homeowners requested shade in the pool for hot days, so we created an architectural trellis. Through this the trellis became the centerpiece and backdrop to the design. The jewel of the backyard design is a spa that appears to be vanishing due to the granite. This relaxing feature can be viewed from the master bathroom every time they glance out. When they begin their day, they can look out to see a beautiful reflecting mirror right outside.
