Timbertech Evolutions railing in black was used with upgraded 7.5" cocktail rail in Azek English Walnut. Also featured is the "pub table" below the deck to set drinks on while playing yard games or gathering around and admiring the views. This couple wanted a deck where they could entertain, dine, relax, and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather, and that is what Archadeck of Denver designed and built for them!

The challenge: take a run-of-the mill colonial-style house and turn it into a vibrant, Cape Cod beach home. The creative and resourceful crew at SV Design rose to the occasion and rethought the box. Given a coveted location and cherished ocean view on a challenging lot, SV’s architects looked for the best bang for the buck to expand where possible and open up the home inside and out. Windows were added to take advantage of views and outdoor spaces—also maximizing water-views were added in key locations. The result: a home that causes the neighbors to stop the new owners and express their appreciation for making such a stunning improvement. The homeowners had a very large and beautiful meadow-like backyard, surrounded by full grown trees and unfortunately mosquitoes. To minimize mosquito exposure for them and their baby, they needed a screened porch to be able to enjoy meals and relax in the beautiful outdoors. They also wanted a large deck/patio area for outdoor family and friends entertaining. We constructed an amazing detached oasis: an enclosed screened porch structure with all stone masonry fireplace, an integrated composite deck surface, large flagstone patio, and 2 flagstone walkways, which is also outfitted with a TV, gas fireplace, ceiling fan, recessed and accent lighting.

New BBQ and bar area. The outdoor kitchen nestles into the hillside and doubles as a retaining wall for the slope. Long Island Boulders continue the slope retention and tie into the rest of the site's materials. This spacious, multi-level backyard in San Luis Obispo, CA, once completely underutilized and overtaken by weeds, was converted into the ultimate outdoor entertainment space with a custom pool and spa as the centerpiece. A cabana with a built-in storage bench, outdoor TV and wet bar provide a protected place to chill during hot pool days, and a screened outdoor shower nearby is perfect for rinsing off after a dip. A hammock attached to the master deck and the adjacent pool deck are ideal for relaxing and soaking up some rays. The stone veneer-faced water feature wall acts as a backdrop for the pool area, and transitions into a retaining wall dividing the upper and lower levels. An outdoor sectional surrounds a gas fire bowl to create a cozy spot to entertain in the evenings, with string lights overhead for ambiance. A Belgard paver patio connects the lounge area to the outdoor kitchen with a Bull gas grill and cabinetry, polished concrete counter tops, and a wood bar top with seating. The outdoor kitchen is tucked in next to the main deck, one of the only existing elements that remain from the previous space, which now functions as an outdoor dining area overlooking the entire yard. Finishing touches included low-voltage LED landscape lighting, pea gravel mulch, and lush planting areas and outdoor decor.

A Place for Everything: Built-in Storage for Effortless Maintenance A beautiful deck deserves to stay clutter-free. That's why we incorporated a large storage area underneath the deck itself. This clever solution provides a designated space for patio furniture cushions, pool toys, gardening tools, or anything else that needs to be tucked away but kept readily accessible. Seamless Transitions: The Perfect Patio Door The key to a truly integrated indoor-outdoor living experience lies in effortless access. To achieve this, we installed a modern sliding patio door. This creates a smooth transition from the house to the deck, allowing for easy flow of traffic and conversation. Whether it's carrying plates of grilled food or simply stepping out to enjoy the fresh air, the sliding door ensures a seamless connection. Grand Entrances: A Double Dose of Elegance For added convenience and a touch of grandeur, we constructed two beautiful staircases leading up to the deck. This not only provides easy access from different points in the yard but also adds a touch of architectural interest. The design of the staircases were tailored to the overall style of the house and deck. The final product? A breathtaking outdoor living area that extends the homeowner's living space and creates a haven for relaxation and entertainment. This project is a perfect example of our ability to transform a backyard into a functional and beautiful extension of the home, allowing our clients to create lasting memories under the summer sun.
