This homeowner was looking to create a backyard catered to their young grandchildren. The end result was a kidney shaped custom pool, a fire pit area, hot tub, pool house and outdoor kitchen. Instead of installing a diving board, we opted for a more natural appearing approach with an elevated patio at the deep end with large flat rocks for jumping off.

This challenging site near Wolf Trap had an existing swimming pool at the end of the property. With twelve feet of grade change across the backyard, our landscape design dilemma was; how to connect the new pool with the house, create lots of living space, and still get people to the landscape below. The entire rear of the house was renovated, giving us an opportunity to build a new composite multi-level deck. We crafted a covered living space under the deck and sunroom. Techo-Bloc pavers, a stone dive rock at the deep end and the natural stream bed with waterfalls that cascades into the pool.

Gunite Pool Contractor- Company- West Islip-Long Island - NY
This Gunite pool was built by Gappsi in West Islip NY. The pool size is 18x38 and Pool depth is 6 ft which makes this Gunite swimming pool a non-diving pool. With stadium stairs in the shallow area of the pool and swim out benches on each side of the deep end. This pool also has an automated safety cover which allows the pool area to be open to the rest of the yard. Fencing around the pool is not required thus making the pool patio more accessible and functional. The plumbing for this Gunite pool was done using 2 inches wide 40 schedule PVC pipes; this allows water to flow and filter at a faster rate. The pool plaster finish consists of black envil quartsscape, unlike Marbledust, is a much harder material which makes the finish of this pool last 2 or 3 times longer with the proper maintenance. A 6 inch porcelain tile bend was installed to the top perimeter of the pool wall. The tile line is used to counter water marks that occur on the walls; the tiles are also weather chemicals resistant. The pool water is leveled to the center of the tiles so halt of the tiles will always be exposed to the elements.
The coping and patio was paved using flamed 2 inch bluestone tread and patio using random sized flagging with 1/2 inch cement joint in between. The pool equipment was a combination of Jandy and Hayward pump, filter and heater, to keep the water sanitized. A salt clarion generator and an ozone system were installed and the combination of these two will keep water free of alleges and impurities which makes this pool a maintenance and chemical free Gunite swimming pool.

Bremner Pool And Spa renovated this 1970‘s pool. We took a tired vinyl liner pool with old plastic coping, 6’straight fibreglass steps and a very uneven brushed concrete deck and modernized it to current standards. We installed 8’ roman end acrylic steps with spa jets for hydrotherapy making the step more visually pleasing and more functional as a seat. To add a dimension to the deep end, we eliminated the diving board and added a natural stone bench, thus removing the starkness of a rectangle pool. We changed the plain looks of a brushed concrete to the more modern method of stamping the concrete and added a cantilever coping to the pool edge in a different colour to highlight. At the shallow end, we increased the size and added a decorative concrete wall to border the seating area. A new vinyl liner completed the job.

At the deep end the raised stone feature wall extends the urban rustic look with it’s cladding of sandblasted Cascade stone, mimicking the look of sand washed concrete. It not only elevates the water feature but also serves as a diving platform.

Master Bath in this San Rafael home brings the ocean inside for a couple that enjoys scuba-diving all over the world. The zinc vanity and tower they selected anchor the room over the marble look porcelain tiles they sit upon like ships. The shower and bathtub areas surrounded by the same tiles, accented in real etched marble features and collections remind these owners of the seas they have immersed themselves in and places they have visited. This bath wall color was carefully selected to remind them of the oceans gentle motion surrounding them for a relaxing getaway whenever they are at home.
