The design inspiration for this daylight basement turned guest quarters was a fusion of urban edge and a deep sea palette. Furniture was reclaimed and re-purposed in a fresh way and unexpected art was added to create visual interest. A custom mixed teal wall color creates an underwater feeling while the wood slice art adds warmth to the living area. The Barracuda art in the hallway to the bedroom was inspired by the families passion for sea diving. We worked with an etsy artist who created barracuda line drawings which we framed and wall mounted in a 'fish school' formation. The citron painted frames make the black and white drawings pop! Inspiration for a huge rustic backyard concrete paver and rectangular lap pool remodel in Raleigh

This homeowner was looking to create a backyard catered to their young grandchildren. The end result was a kidney shaped custom pool, a fire pit area, hot tub, pool house and outdoor kitchen. Instead of installing a diving board, we opted for a more natural appearing approach with an elevated patio at the deep end with large flat rocks for jumping off.

This backyard was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by the Gappsi team. The gunite swimming pool has a rectangular shell with a bench on the long side of the pool, a sundeck with a bubbler, steps, and a spa. Spillover water bowls also function as fire features. The swimming pool is 8 feet deep, and includes a diving board and a safety auto cover. The backyard is elegant, functional, and simple. The Fiorito travertine patio for the fire pit area, the pavilion floor, and the pool patio area were bordered with blue stone strips to match the swimming pool coping. The pavilion was built by Gappsi and was designed to match the house style and details. The outdoor kitchen was built with Wolf cabinets and Twin Eagle appliances, and it was veneered with Fiorito travertine to match the pillars that hold the fire bowls and the fire-pit. Master Bath in this San Rafael home brings the ocean inside for a couple that enjoys scuba-diving all over the world. The zinc vanity and tower they selected anchor the room over the marble look porcelain tiles they sit upon like ships. The shower and bathtub areas surrounded by the same tiles, accented in real etched marble features and collections remind these owners of the seas they have immersed themselves in and places they have visited. This bath wall color was carefully selected to remind them of the oceans gentle motion surrounding them for a relaxing getaway whenever they are at home.

This family with Italian roots loves cooking, so they asked Betz to do a backyard makeover for family fun and entertaining. The kids love the stone slab steps leading up to the deep end feature wall, which serves as a diving ledge.

The classic architecture of the house, with authentic leaded glass windows, provides an elegant backdrop for the pool and its sleek perimeter overflow island spa. The cluster of chaise lounges across the deep end, backed by a soldier-like row of columnar cedars, makes you swear you’re at a villa in the Italian countryside.

This simple pool features a sheer descent waterfall at the deep end of the pool. The waterfall creates white noise and the steps create a simple diving platform. White pavers keep the pool deck cool.

The elegant 49’ x 26’ free form Betz Gunite pool features a premium blue Pebble Tec exposed aggregate interior which is beautifully defined by the Wiarton natural stone coping. The pool’s deep end features an elevated diving rock conveniently placed not far from an underwater swim out bench.

After enjoying a dip in the pool, guests can gather around the fire pit that has a built-in bench nestled behind. The deep end of the pool has a raised wall that doubles as a diving/jumping platform. This very unique layout incorporates a wooden bridge going across the narrow part of the swimming pool. In the shallow area, a curved sundeck was built to accommodate lounge chairs, and to enter the pool, five steps were installed leading down to a 48 inch shallow pool area. Bremner Pool And Spa renovated this 1970‘s pool. We took a tired vinyl liner pool with old plastic coping, 6’straight fibreglass steps and a very uneven brushed concrete deck and modernized it to current standards. We installed 8’ roman end acrylic steps with spa jets for hydrotherapy making the step more visually pleasing and more functional as a seat. To add a dimension to the deep end, we eliminated the diving board and added a natural stone bench, thus removing the starkness of a rectangle pool. We changed the plain looks of a brushed concrete to the more modern method of stamping the concrete and added a cantilever coping to the pool edge in a different colour to highlight. At the shallow end, we increased the size and added a decorative concrete wall to border the seating area. A new vinyl liner completed the job.
