Minta Bell puts to rest the rumor that she exclusively designs layers of calming neutral tones. 2014 brought client requests for lively, yet sophisticated rooms. Watching Minta put together the fabrics and materials of this space was like watching an impressionist layer on pigments with brush and palette knife. Sometimes the tones are thick and strong an other times fine and delicate. Each form, texture and color was considered and reconsidered until just the right balance was achieved. The Pierre Frey Embroidered Linen Carriacou fabric provided the color palette. The Thayer Coggin Design Classic lounge chairs and Brueton coffee tables are contemporary yet timeless.

Clients wanted to keep a powder room on the first floor and desired to relocate it away from kitchen and update the look. We needed to minimize the powder room footprint and tuck it into a service area instead of an open public area. We minimize the footprint and tucked the PR across from the basement stair which created a small ancillary room and buffer between the adjacent rooms. We used a small wall hung basin to make the small room feel larger by exposing more of the floor footprint. Wainscot paneling was installed to create balance, scale and contrasting finishes. The new powder room exudes simple elegance from the polished nickel hardware, rich contrast and delicate accent lighting. The space is comfortable in scale and leaves you with a sense of eloquence. Our Shoe and Accessory Organizers keep heels and handbags neat. Stack them beneath elfa shelves for easy access. Our Clear Boxes in a variety of sizes stack on themselves to store everything from seasonal sweaters to accessories in plain sight.

A small 2nd floor laundry room was added to this 1910 home during a master suite addition. The linen closet (see painted white doors left) was double sided (peninsula tall pantry cabinet) to the master suite bathroom for ease of folding and storing bathroom towels. Stacked metal shelves held a laundry basket for each member of the household. A custom tile shower pan was installed to catch any potential leaks or plumbing issues that may occur down the road....and prevent ceiling damage in rooms beneath. The shelf above holds a steam generator for the walk in shower in the adjacent master bathroom.

Major renovation to a beautiful old Victorian outside of Boston. We opened up the kitchen to expose the original pantry, restored the old wood cabinets and painted the interiors a beautiful shade of navy blue. Exposed brick and added on a much needed mudroom and new entry to the kitchen, we were able to expose the back stair case and added batten and board on the walls. Beautiful.
