Oversized and underused was how our Client described their old furniture for this space. We were brought in to come up with a furniture plan and accessorizing details that would make the space livable and loveable again!

Simply stunning describes this spacious floor plan. Starting with the open foyer, dining and great rooms, this plan does not disappoint those who seek an open layout. The truly remarkable master suite accesses the rear porch through French doors. A large dressing area grants luxury within the closet space, and the large master bath with center garden tub is a true retreat. For fans of outdoor entertaining, the screen porch's outdoor grill promotes alfresco meals. Chefs will love the spacious kitchen and adjacent breakfast room, along with the large pantry. Note the large utility room. Upstairs are three bedrooms that share two baths and are in close proximity to the huge bonus room, where attic storage is plentiful.

This project is best described in one word: Fun – Oh wait, and bold! This homes mid-century modern construction style was inspiration that married nicely to our clients request to also have a home with a glamorous and lux vibe. We have a long history of working together and the couple was very open to concepts but she had one request: she loved blue, in any and all forms, and wanted it to be used liberally throughout the house. This new-to-them home was an original 1966 ranch in the Calvert area of Lincoln, Nebraska and was begging for a new and more open floor plan to accommodate large family gatherings. The house had been so loved at one time but was tired and showing her age and an allover change in lighting, flooring, moldings as well as development of a new and more open floor plan, lighting and furniture and space planning were on our agenda. This album is a progression room to room of the house and the changes we made. We hope you enjoy it! This was such a fun and rewarding project and In the end, our Musician husband and glamorous wife had their forever dream home nestled in the heart of the city.

Coastal, chic, glam.....all words to describe this lovely whole home remodel. My client loves blue and so we layered shades of blue throughout the house. Highlights of the kitchen include a custom glass backsplash, art glass pendants, appliances integrated into the cabinetry, and the gorgeous Cambria countertop featuring blue veining. Custom cabinets in cream and blue create color balance and contrast. Functionally, there is a ton of covered storage along with glass display cabinets and open shelves by the sink. The bathrooms both follow suit with serene blues and whites in the tile, vanities, and paint. The art glass sconces are a special feature in each bathroom.

In a walkable neighborhood near the center of town, a historic masonry and timber frame structure has a new future as a residence containing 10 apartments. The property was originally built by the Elks in 1913 and later became a Masonic lodge, which included a bar, kitchen, meeting rooms and office space. The new apartments range from studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units from 500 square feet to 1000 square feet. In conformance with the municipality’s 20% affordable housing requirements, two of the apartment units will be priced as affordable housing. The top floor of the existing building is double-height, allowing for mezzanine space. Apartments are designed as loft style, with modern detailing; a “SoHo aesthetic.” The character of the building is being restored and preserved, and where possible original brick, stucco, and wood are exposed and refinished. The exterior gains a new stair and elevator tower addition, along with new window openings where necessary. A new plaque designed for the building describes its historic roots in Princeton. With the inclusion of a green roof, LEED for Homes certification is being pursued for the project.

A Tuscan style villa on East Valley Road with a carved limestone fireplace, burgandy, copper and blue rugs shares a feeling of warmth and comfort. Old Antique furniture, along with new fine bench made old world furniture, soft comfortable upholstered chairs complete this very inviting home in Santa Barbara that feels like the old Italian Countryside. In a dining area with a groin vault for the ceiling, the walls are copper colored venetian plaster. A separate library for the book loving clients, in blues and reds. The living great room area features open hand scraped beams, the floors have imestone laid in a Versaille pattern. Project Location: Montecito, Santa Barbara, CA. Designed by Maraya Interior Design. Situated along Eagle River, looking across to the mouth of the Ipswich Harbor, this was clearly a little cape house that was married to the sea. The owners were inquiring about adding a simple shed dormer to provide additional exposure to the stunning water view, but they were also interested in what Mathew would design if this beach cottage were his. Inspired by the waves that came ashore mere feet from the little house, Mathew took up a fat marker and sketched a sweeping, S-shape dormer on the waterside of the building. He then described how the dormer would be designed in the shape of an ocean wave. “This way,” he explained, “you will not only be able to see the ocean from your new master bedroom, you’ll also be able to experience that view from a space that actually reflects the spirit of the waves.” Mathew and his team designed the master suite and study using a subtle combination of contemporary and traditional, beach-house elements. The result was a completely unique and one-of-a-kind space inside and out. Transparencies are built into the design via features like gently curved glass that reflects the water and the arched interior window separating the bedroom and bath. On the exterior, the curved dormer on the street side echoes these rounded shapes and lines to create continuity throughout. The sense of movement is accentuated by the continuous, V-groove boarded ceiling that runs from one ocean-shaped dormer through to the opposite side of the house. The bedroom features a cozy sitting area with built in storage and a porthole window to look out onto the rowboats in the harbor. A bathroom and closet were combined into a single room in a modern design that doesn't sacrifice any style or space and provides highly efficient functionality. A striking barn door made of glass with industrial hardware divides the two zones of the master suite. The custom, built-in maple cabinetry of the closets provides a textural counterpoint to the unique glass shower that incorporates sea stones and an ocean wave motif accent tile. With this spectacular design vision, the owners are now able to enjoy their stunning view from a bright and spacious interior that brings the natural elements of the beach into the home. These East Siders previously described their front porch as a hazard. Formerly framed and sheathed with plywood and a completely tiled finish - the porch was cracking, moving, and rotting. A new baby was on the way so the old porch had to go! With a goal of keeping the yard comfortable and informal Moontower created a modern and slightly rustic two sided porch. Equally approachable for everyday use from the alley as well as for guests from the street, the porch was completely transformed and extended with a gravel landing 30" below the deck height. Despite the tile shell, the piers and framing were in good shape, so salvaging the core elements was an option. Rough sawn sawn cedar 4x material, steel tube and bar as well as cut and crushed limestone were used throughout. Working with the existing porch location and respecting tree locations provided site specific opportunities for a unique solution.

"Transitional" -- what exactly does this term mean? Especially, when describing interior design. Transitional style design, usually means that you have characteristics of both modern and traditional in your space. You kind of fall in that even middle ground between both styles. For this dining room, our client was just that. However, she wasn't aware of it. She was trying to pair multiple traditional elements together, but it left her feeling unhappy. The space was feeling dark, filled with heavy furniture and nothing was popping or even uplifting. She knew she liked to mix patterns and textures, but was also unsure of how to achieve that. As I looked around her home, I realized that their art collection definitely leaned more on the modern and colorful side of the spectrum. This was a big indicator to me, she wasn't fully traditional at all, she was more transitional! That was my que, and we got to work and this is the result. Native House Photography

The dream is couple had was to remove the wall between the living room and the kitchen. This extensive remodel to this couple's upscale home in Carlsbad. We are always in favor in going beyond the basic shaker style cabinetry. We used Bellmont cabinetry lineage cabinetry door style, an upscale shaker is how we describe it to our client. We used quartz countertops with a waterfall end. Beach inspired kitchen design with stainless steel kitchen appliances and large expansive counter tops. Multi windows throughout this home give this kitchen a very open feeling. The kitchen has 2 sinks, one farm sink on the island. The island houses a wine cooler, microwave drawer and of course the basic sink essentials.
