This project is best described in one word: Fun – Oh wait, and bold! This homes mid-century modern construction style was inspiration that married nicely to our clients request to also have a home with a glamorous and lux vibe. We have a long history of working together and the couple was very open to concepts but she had one request: she loved blue, in any and all forms, and wanted it to be used liberally throughout the house. This new-to-them home was an original 1966 ranch in the Calvert area of Lincoln, Nebraska and was begging for a new and more open floor plan to accommodate large family gatherings. The house had been so loved at one time but was tired and showing her age and an allover change in lighting, flooring, moldings as well as development of a new and more open floor plan, lighting and furniture and space planning were on our agenda. This album is a progression room to room of the house and the changes we made. We hope you enjoy it! This was such a fun and rewarding project and In the end, our Musician husband and glamorous wife had their forever dream home nestled in the heart of the city.

Words cannot describe the level of transformation this beautiful 60’s ranch has undergone. The home was blessed with a ton of natural light, however the sectioned rooms made for large awkward spaces without much functionality. By removing the dividing walls and reworking a few key functioning walls, this home is ready to entertain friends and family for all occasions. The large island has dual ovens for serious bake-off competitions accompanied with an inset induction cooktop equipped with a pop-up ventilation system. Plenty of storage surrounds the cooking stations providing large countertop space and seating nook for two. The beautiful natural quartzite is a show stopper throughout with it’s honed finish and serene blue/green hue providing a touch of color. Mother-of-Pearl backsplash tiles compliment the quartzite countertops and soft linen cabinets. The level of functionality has been elevated by moving the washer & dryer to a newly created closet situated behind the refrigerator and keeps hidden by a ceiling mounted barn-door. The new laundry room and storage closet opposite provide a functional solution for maintaining easy access to both areas without door swings restricting the path to the family room. Full height pantry cabinet make up the rest of the wall providing plenty of storage space and a natural division between casual dining to formal dining. Built-in cabinetry with glass doors provides the opportunity to showcase family dishes and heirlooms accented with in-cabinet lighting. With the wall partitions removed, the dining room easily flows into the rest of the home while maintaining its special moment. A large peninsula divides the kitchen space from the seating room providing plentiful storage including countertop cabinets for hidden storage, a charging nook, and a custom doggy station for the beloved dog with an elevated bowl deck and shallow drawer for leashes and treats! Beautiful large format tiles with a touch of modern flair bring all these spaces together providing a texture and color unlike any other with spots of iridescence, brushed concrete, and hues of blue and green. The original master bath and closet was divided into two parts separated by a hallway and door leading to the outside. This created an itty-bitty bathroom and plenty of untapped floor space with potential! By removing the interior walls and bringing the new bathroom space into the bedroom, we created a functional bathroom and walk-in closet space. By reconfiguration the bathroom layout to accommodate a walk-in shower and dual vanity, we took advantage of every square inch and made it functional and beautiful! A pocket door leads into the bathroom suite and a large full-length mirror on a mosaic accent wall greets you upon entering. To the left is a pocket door leading into the walk-in closet, and to the right is the new master bath. A natural marble floor mosaic in a basket weave pattern is warm to the touch thanks to the heating system underneath. Large format white wall tiles with glass mosaic accent in the shower and continues as a wainscot throughout the bathroom providing a modern touch and compliment the classic marble floor. A crisp white double vanity furniture piece completes the space. The journey of the Yosemite project is one we will never forget. Not only were we given the opportunity to transform this beautiful home into a more functional and beautiful space, we were blessed with such amazing clients who were endlessly appreciative of TVL – and for that we are grateful!

Spa suite? Nah...so much better! Words cannot really describe the incredible transformation of this sleek "decked out" master bath and closet. Ripped down to the bare framing, upgrades include: insulation, windows, skylights, dual head shower, bidet toilet, his and her closets, heated floors, jetted tub (with a view) sensor lighting, drywall, framing, laundry chute, built-ins... and more. The ultimate compliment came from the owners themselves: "we stayed at a very nice hotel in Florida and had a "spa suite" for a few nights. It was decked out well...and Michelle and I both agreed that we missed our bathroom at home. Something we never thought we'd say!

This ultra-contemporary kitchen, designed by Bilotta’s Peter Bittner in collaboration with Kent Pruzan of Kent Pruzan Interiors and Jessica Lotner of Luster Design Studio, overlooks the Miami waterfront. It features Artcraft cabinetry’s Portofino door on the perimeter in a white semi-gloss and the Eva door in a high gloss black lacquer on the island. The island top is blue jeweled Galaxy Glass with a waterfall edge and the perimeter tops are Corian’s White Blizzard. The client wanted a very sleek design, an “invisible kitchen” as she described it. She wanted the space to blend in with the adjoining rooms. A highly emotional collection characterized by the material nature of the woods, by the skillful lacquering , retro style of the mirrors and the metal reflections: ILBagno describes an intimate and refined atmosphere with a return to origins, a project that looks to the past to explore the future. A proposal less rigorous and minimal which allows you to recover the memory of familiar images, the style of a noble past, the suggestions that come from different styles. Not nostalgic but rather current, a reworking of content obtained through the antoniolupi style almost maniacal attention to detail, the excellence of the workmanship and materials used.

Q: How would you describe the home’s style, and is there anything you’d like to share on the goals/purpose of your living space? A: Our home style is cozy, some rustic pieces and some personal art that means something to us, or that we received as gifts. I love mixing dark and light tones, light paints, and mostly neutrals –then it’s easy to change around the accents.

Scott and Janet of Elgin have had four design to build renovations with Advance Design over the last decade. We got the chance to sit down and talk with Janet about her experience working with Advance Design on so many different areas of her home. Starting with her kitchen in 2009, Janet proclaimed, “The reason we kept coming back is because our first [renovation] went so extremely well, exceeding all of my expectations.” Since their kitchen renovation with Advance Design ten years ago, Scott and Janet have also worked with Advance to remodel their master bedroom, their power room, a wet bar, and most recently their master bath. Having renovated practically every major room in the house with the team, we asked Janet what made her experience with Advance Design so special. “We went with Advance Design because we trusted them so much more, their experience, and everything that they brought. We were confident they were giving us what we wanted for the money we were spending.” For their most recent renovation, Scott and Janet clearly knew what to expect going into their master bath renovation. They were familiar with Advance’s step by step design process that epitomizes the “Common Sense Remodeling” philosophy applied in every project Advance creates. After once again experiencing the careful budgeting analysis, the pointed design meetings, and the clear documentation that leads up the a thoroughly managed installation, Janet’s simple summary of their experience is this; “The word I would use to describe the process is – collaboration!” Working closely with Advance Design kitchen designer Michelle Lecinski, together they were able to develop a new master bath design that not only worked with their investment goal, but also made sense for their lifestyle. “Oh Michelle, my designer! I connected with her immediately. She spent time getting to know us, our lifestyle, even the setting of our house.” The threesome had a great experience designing and producing yet another successful project together. When it came to their new project plans, Scott and Janet were interested in creating a relaxing “spa-like” experience in their master bath. One of the many ideas Michelle introduced during the design process was installing a Kohler Alteo series showerhead for a rain-like shower experience. This designer showerhead, mixed with the warm ambiance of the lighting and pebble accent running throughout the shower make for what Janet calls a “luxury spa essence”. From the oversized glass sliding door to the recessed niche for accessories, each special detail was considered and implemented intentionally so as to create the maximumly optimized use of the compact space. Not only was this transformation one of beauty and luxury, but special attention was given to every way possible to provide additional storage to maximize the functionality of the bath area as a whole. Once design was complete and the bath construction project began in their home, making sure everything happened efficiently and on schedule became new priority number one. “Having a project manager made an enormous difference,” Janet said, “It was so worth it to hire professionals that knew exactly what they were doing. Even after all of these years, I wouldn’t change a thing.” “It was a pleasure working together with Janet and Scott to create this beautiful space that will enhance their lives for many years,” says Michelle. “It is so much fun to get to do this job every day, I love that I can have this sort of impact on their lives by doing something for them [Janet & Scott] that comes so naturally to me!” After reviewing the long-term relationship with clients like Scott and Janet, owner Todd Jurs had this to say, “Clients returning and asking us to transform that next area of their home really warms my heart. This oceanfront contemporary has been described as, “The most magnificent residence ever constructed on this island. A home of world class craftsmanship and detail.” Endless ocean views inspired Morpurgo Architects to design the principal spaces of this beach house with uninterrupted panoramic vistas from every room. The owners required multiple functions on the main level of their home. The open plan accommodates a centrally located family room. A kitchen, dining area and a den radiate around this two-story communal space with a glass wall opening to the surf beyond. The master bedroom, also on this level and oriented to capture spectacular sunrises, is positioned to achieve maximum proximity to nearby dunes. Linking the interior and exterior elevations is a glass block lined stairway which connects each level of the house and extends to a roof terrace. This home sets a new standard for the ultimate oceanfront lifestyle.

Timber frame builders Chris Neill and Dwayne Keim, along with investor Jacques Berten, had decided to build a spectacular, 4,000-square-foot timber frame barn home near Eureka, Montana. This baby boomer couple recently settled in the Haymarket area. Their bathroom was located behind the garage from which we took a few inches to contribute to the bathroom space, offering them a large walk in shower, with Digital controls designed for multiple shower heads . With a new waterfall free standing tub/ faucet slipper tub taking the space of the old large decked tub. We used a Victoria & Albert modern free standing tub, which brought spa feel to the room. The old space from the closet was used to create enough space for the bench area. It has a modern look linear drain in wet room. Adding a decorative touch and more lighting, is a beautiful chandelier outside of the wet room. Behind the new commode area is a niche. New vanities, sleek, yet spacious, allowing for more storage. The large mirror and hidden medicine cabinets with decorative lighting added more of the contemporariness to the space. Around this bath, we used large space tile. With a Classic look of black and white tile that complement the mosaic tile used creatively, making this bathroom undeniably stunning. The smart use of mosaic tile on the back wall of the shower and tub area has put this project on the cover sheet of most design magazine. The privacy wall offers closure for the commode from the front entry. Classy yet simple is how they described their new master bath suite.
