Our clients on this project were inspired by their travels to Asia and wanted to mimic this aesthetic at their DC property. We designed a water feature that effectively masks adjacent traffic noise and maintains a small footprint.

Blending your antiques with new pieces will give you a UNIQUE home that will make a lasting statement. Decorating New Orleans Style is a specialty at KHB Interiors. From a simple interior design accent wall to a room completely designed around New Orleans. Designing by blending antiques that your family has or newly acquired pieces, with transitional elements create a very UNIQUE and Statement Space. This dining room has varying aspects of New Orleans. Immediately I had a vision for this room. I saw the far wall to my left as a statement wall paying tribute to New Orleans Design. We transformed a basic wall into a shutter wall using restored New Orleans shutters, some from Katrina destroyed homes and other antique shutters from around the city. The shutters were then enhanced using shades of white, cream and grey with different level of distressing and aging. An antique buffet was transformed to an eye catching silver, gold and pewter metallic piece. Above the buffet is a custom made 4 ' x 6 ' oyster shell mirror. Upon entering the home your eye is drawn to this wall as it POPS! The "tiara", our icing on the cake, is the large vintage chandelier. Details are always the key in all of our designs. We transformed a basic wall into a shutter wall using restored New Orleans shutters, some from Katrina destroyed homes and other antique shutters from around the city. The shutters were then enhanced using shades of white, cream and grey with different level of distressing and aging. This dining room is a beautiful mixture of several elements to create a New Orleans Inspired Dining Room- decorating New Orleans Style! We combined an antique dining table with vintage chairs that were chalk painted. We upholstered the chairs in a pretty light mint fabric with a french outdoor patio scene. An gorgeous mahogany antique buffet was transformed to an eye catching silver, gold and pewter metallic piece. Above the buffet is a custom made 4 ' x 6 ' oyster shell mirror which adds the UNIQUE to this space once your eye moves from the STATEMENT SHUTTER WALL. Upon entering the home your eye is drawn to this wall and the oyster mirror as it simply, POPS! The "tiara", our icing on the cake, is the large vintage chandelier. The vintage "tiara" or chandelier was luckily grabbed at a local estate sale and transformed and rePURPOSED into a silver and gold beauty adorned with 6" antique crystals. Details are always the key in all of our designs. KHB Interiors New Orleans www.khbinteriors.com

Hallway - mid-sized contemporary medium tone wood floor hallway idea in Houston with white walls

Example of a mid-sized trendy formal and open concept medium tone wood floor living room design in New York with beige walls, no fireplace and no tv

Photo Credit: Andy Beasley Exposed brick walls, dark joinery and contrasting textures and soft furnishings allows this space to have a lovely homely feel while still being a contemporary family home. A wood burning fire in the sitting area creates a toasty corner, even in an open plan room. A multi use space for entertaining and family life this project is still a hit, and a favourite of ours and the public. The space can be opened up to bring the outside, in. By opening up the huge sliding glazed doors onto the patio you create an even larger space where life can spill out into the garden, and equally lets nature into the home with a breath of fresh air. The pendant lights above the table from John Lewis – William Bottle Glass Pendants from the Croft collection £130 each. These are such simple lights with a hint of detail and a slightly industrial feel ties in beautifully with the metal star table lamp on the bespoke side table.
