Laminated glass is a safety glass that uses one or more layers of PVB film (polyvinyl butyral) or SGP between two or more pieces of glass. It is made under a special process and is combined into a whole through high temperature and high pressure within a certain period of time. Longlass Laminated Glass Advantages: 1. The bending of SGP is only 1/4 of that of PVB. In a word, SGP has better performance than PVB, and it's widely applied in glass path, glass ceiling, glass floor, Stair Treads,etc. Longlass Laminated Glass Features Energy saving When sunlight directly shines on a piece of colorless laminated glass, the PVB interlayer film can absorb most of the heat and only radiate a part of the heat back indoors, making the indoor and outdoor heat difficult to conduct, reducing heat energy consumption, thereby maintaining indoor temperature and saving air conditioning Energy consumption. Security it can withstand the penetration of accidental impact. Once the glass is damaged, its fragments will still stick together with the intermediate film, which can avoid personal or property damage caused by the glass falling, and the whole piece of glass remains intact and can continue to withstand impact, wind and rain Sound insulation The interlayer film has the function of blocking sound waves, so that the laminated glass can effectively control the transmission of sound and play a good sound insulation effect. Noise reduction In the process of sound wave transmission, the glass on both sides of the film is reflected back and forth, and is attenuated and absorbed by the soft film. Generally, the noise can be reduced by 30-40 dB. The thicker the film, the better the noise reduction effect. Decorative effect The laminated glass can be sandwiched with various patterns, which can achieve the decorative effect, and there are also decorative effects such as ice glass. UV resistance The interlayer film has the function of filtering ultraviolet rays; the special PVB film can make laminated glass weaken the transmission of sunlight, effectively block ultraviolet rays, reduce the fading of indoor fabrics. The color PVB interlayer film has different light transmittance, and can control the ultraviolet and heat gain as needed. It will not block the penetration of visible light .

In this view of the rear of the home, you can see how the gutters stand out in direct light. We find that guests notice and ask about copper gutters because they look different than what people normally see. There is more visible in this picture. The home went too long without gutter maintenance. You can see signs of damage to windows and trim from previous leaks and overflows. Contractors repaired this damage, and the homeowner chose copper gutters for more than their beauty. The material's longevity will help prevent future occurrences of this kind of damage. This downspout ends over unprotected yard. The block below protects the soil. It prevents impact and channels rainwater away from the home's foundation.

When our client contacted us, they wanted to completely renovate their condo to accommodate a much better use of their space, which included a new kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and den/office. There were some limitations with placement, given this home was a condo, but some key design changes were made to dramatically improvement their home. Firstly, after demolition it was discovered that there was lots of ceiling space that was unused and empty. So we all decided to raise it by almost 2 feet - almost 4' in the bathroom and bedroom. This probably had the most dramatic impact of all the changes. Our client also decided to have polished concrete floors and this was done everywhere, and incorporate custom cabinetry in all rooms. The advantage of this was to really maximize and fully utilize every possible area, while at the same time dramatically beautify the condo. Of course the brushed brass finishes and minimal decorating help direct the to key focal places in the condo including the mural of wallpaper in the bathroom and entertainment in the living room. We love the Pentax backsplash in the kitchen!

The Cherry Road project is a humble yet striking example of how small changes can have a big impact. A meaningful project as the final room to be renovated in this house, thus our completion aligned with the family’s move-in. The kitchen posed a number of problems the design worked to remedy. Such as an existing window oriented the room towards a neighboring driveway. The initial design move sought to reorganize the space internally, focusing the view from the sink back through the house to the pool and courtyard beyond. This simple repositioning allowed the range to center on the opposite wall, flanked by two windows that reduce direct views to the driveway while increasing the natural light of the space. At the range, we incorporated stainless steel countertops to integrate with the range itself, to make that more seamless flow. The edge detail is historic from the 1930s. At the range itself, there are a number of custom detailed incorporated for storage of cooking oils and spices, in a pullout. A custom knife block that's in a pull out as well.

Recently, we were lucky enough to partner with One Kings Lane to lend a painting hand on a spring redesign of the fabulous Mindy Kaling’s NYC apartment. Mindy had worked directly with designer Sally Gotfredson of The Studio at One Kings Lane to help envision her space, and although Mindy herself was in L.A. for the majority of the project, Sally and the pros at OKL were able to expertly manage her project from the East Coast! When it came to the painting portion of the renovation, Mindy wanted the apartment to be “…a reflection of [her] street style – great accents on top of a neutral palette.” She wanted statement fixtures, like chandeliers, eye-catching artwork, and brass accents. And she wanted all of these on a fresh, clean palette for maximum effect. To achieve this, Paintzen kept it simple. We supplied white paint in a matte finish for all the ceilings and certain walls to create a bright, crisp surface over which Sally could create an impactful design. (Get the look with Delicate White!) Rather than feeling bland, these fresh and clean white walls made a huge difference with this makeover… and were the ideal option for Mindy’s Nolita home. It laid the foundation for all the beautiful, bold, and perfectly “Mindy” additions that One Kings Lane had in store for her home.

Decorative sandblasted glass panels in four different colors create a painterly and innovative backdrop to the room's visual impact. At different points of the spaces, the mirrored surfaces reflect different tonal values. This play of light and surface is also reflected in the mosaic tile which is used on the fireplace hearth and drapery cornices. While softly colored when perceived directly, they are richly colored and prismatic, when viewed at an angle. Like the decorative glass panels, they change colors when looked at from different perspectives.

San Juan supplied all exterior windows and doors by Weather Shield, exterior trim, Ipe decking, interior doors, interior trim, and our patented E. F. San Juan custom Invincia impact doors. For this home, our millwork team worked directly with the builder, Chris Clark, to create an interior trim and millwork design to work within the budget provided. Southwest Georgia pine was milled for walls, and pecky cypress paneling was milled for ceilings in select areas of the home to create visual interest and a splash of texture and color.
