Nestled high on the 55th floor of a skyscraper in the heart of Mumbai, Casa Bohemia is a four-bedroom apartment for a couple and their teenage kids. The clients were keen on having an organic home that was uncoordinated, grounded in a bohemian style that seems incidental yet is aesthetically pleasing. Designed as an honest and delightful yet mismatched visual palette that is curated to disrupt the ‘coordinated synchrony’ of elements, this residence defines disproportionate harmony.

To tackle this full basement remodel, we had to remove load-bearing walls without disrupting the marble flooring on the level above. New interior columns support the open floor plan, punctuating the space with regularity.
