In this photo you will see our Harper Cafe cabinet line in a kitchen that looks to be getting ready for a get together. These "Solid Wood" cabinets are one of our Walnut lines. This specific style has our toffee stain which is a raised panel with applied molding on all the cabinet doors. With the 1/2" plywood box construction the drawers are also 1/2" solid walnut with dovetail construction. To top that off the drawer slides are made with "High quality steel, full extension under mount with soft close safety feature to prevent all the slamming of your cabinet doors we all dislike so much. The assembly method is constructed with high-strength fasteners at all key structural points to give it the best strength and sturdiness you look for. This photo from left to right on the back wall you will notice a stainless steel two door fridge with an 36" wide by 15" high Quinn Walnut wall cabinet. That cabinet along with the refrigerator are boxed in with matching Refrigerator End Panels for that beautiful look everyone looks for in their kitchen. To the right of that we have an 9" wide by 30" high wall cabinet. Beside that they have used a 21" wide by 30" high wall cabinet with our glass door insert. Below those two cabinet you are unable to see the cabinets but they are a 9" tray base cabinet. A tray base cabinet is a full height cabinet door with no drawer on the cabinet, good for storing cookie sheets. Next to that you have a 21" wide base cabinet. Back to the wall cabinets you will notice two 30" wide by 15" high next to each other. Below that you have your 30" stove in the middle but on both sides of the stove they have used two 15" base cabinets. To the right of the stove and the 15" base cabinet you will see a 36" base cabinet with a single drawer across the top of that base cabinet. It gives good storage space for silverware or cooking utensils. Above that they have used another 21" wide by 30" height wall cabinet with glass doors. Beside that in neat. You will see two cabinets, the top cabinet is 36" wide by 12" high and the cabinet underneath it is an 36" wide by 15" high wine rack cabinet. If you look close enough you will notice they have also bought a 36" wide by 12" depth glass rack that can be installed under any wall cabinet, but in this case is installed under the wine rack. Below the wine rack is a 21" wide "three drawer base" cabinet wonderful for storing pots and pans. The big tall cabinet in the photo to the far right is an 24" wide by 96" high wall pantry cabinet. It is very useful with our full extension under mount drawers for full access of space. As you see the back wall all the wall cabinets are staggered. This is a great feature to use if you would like to stand out from your friends and family's kitchens. Along the top of all the wall cabinet as same to along the bottom of the wall cabinets you will notice they have used our 3-5/16" crowning molding along the top and our light rail molding along the bottom of our cabinets. The light rail molding is very great if you are looking to install light below your wall cabinets to give your kitchen that unique night look. With the Island you cannot see the back side of it. But lets start with the side you can see. From left to right you will see each cabinet has no drawers. That is because all these cabinets are 30" high wall cabinets, which were custom installed with our 4" toe kick plate underneath them to give them the base cabinet look. Each cabinet in the island are 30" wide wall cabinet by 30" high but they are only 12" depth. You can see on the right side of the island that its defiantly deeper than 12" depth more like 24" depth. That is because they have double sided each 30" wide by 30" high wall cabinets back to back to give it the 24" depth look. They used our finished piece of plywood on both sides of the island so you didn't have to see where the two wall cabinets butted up against each other and then used our inside corner molding on all four corners of the island to conceal the fact of using a finishing piece of plywood on each end of the island. The knobs and pulls were also bought through us. All the drawers have our "somerset" 6-1/4" overall length decorative pulls, with a satin nickel finish. The cabinet doors all have our "Madison" 1-3/16" diameter zinc die cast knob with a satin nickel finish also. Oak trees have been a symbol of strength for a long time. They are also known to live for a very long time, given the right conditions. The reason they became a symbol of strength is because they themselves are very strong and are able to survive some of the harshest storms, when healthy. The wood it produces is undoubtedly very strong as well and is commonly used in the making of furniture, homes, and boats. Oak trees are not only used for their strong wood, but also for their beauty. There are even certain species that produce distinctive lobed leaves, allowing them to stand out. Then, when fall comes around, they become even more majestic when their leaves turn bright and brilliant colours that add texture and a unique spectacle to the changing environment. The beauty is so amazing that you might even want one for your own yard. These are guaranteed to have spectacular fall colours, great shade, and amazing texture. Different Types of Oaks You might be interested to know that oaks are one of the oldest trees in the world. Archeologists have been able to date them back to around 65 million years ago. A healthy oak can even live to about 200-300 years old. But do you know where these big trees come from? Little tiny acorns. A single oak tree is able to produce roughly 10 million acorns over the course of its lifetime. Not only are oak trees beneficial to people but they are also great for animals. They are able to support more than 500 moth and butterfly species, which is more than other native trees can do. Insects also like to find homes in oak trees, which helps to feed the birds. Not to mention that small animals like squirrels also can utilize them for things like food, shade, and shelter. They also help larger animals, such as the white-tailed deer, who eats the acorns during the fall and winter season, which is about 75% of their diets. Around the world, you can find more than 600 species of oak trees. Let’s go over a small handful of our favourites that are great for providing dazzling colourful displays during the fall months, when the leaves change colours. These are going to range from bronzes, to golds, to reds, and everything in between. Black Oak It might be apparent that the name comes from the outward appearance from the almost black bark that you see, along with the deep orange or yellow inner bark of the tree. Being quite a statement tree, you can enjoy the green glossy leaves in the summer and then enjoy them again then they turn orange and red in the fall. This tree has a tendency to look very similar to a red oak, but one of the major differences is that black oaks are a little smaller and are able to tolerate drier soil conditions. Specifications: -Growing Zones: 3-9 -Sun Tolerance: Full sun, which can equate to 6 hours of uninterrupted sunlight each day -Soil: Needs slightly acidic, well-drained, and rich soil -Growing height: 50-60 feet White Oak This oak tree is great for shade and can easily be spotted by the light colour of its bark. During the spring, it comes out with pinkish leaves that later on turn to dark green. The leaves of this tree are 4-9 inches long, have 7-9 lobes, and turn reddish-brown in the fall. Specifications: -Growing Zone: 3-9 -Sun Tolerance: Full sun, which can equate to 6 hours of uninterrupted sunlight each day -Soil: Needs to be planted in well drained and slightly acidic soil -Growing Height: 80 feet Red Oak This oak doesn’t have its name for nothing. It offers the brightest red leaves out of all the oak trees. In the fall, the leaves turn a beautiful deep red. During the summer, it has glossy green leaves and an open canopy. This is a widely adaptable tree and it also grows much faster than other oaks. Specifications: -Growing Zone: 3-9 -Sun Tolerance: Full sun, which can equate to 6 hours of uninterrupted sunlight each day -Soil: Needs to be plated in slightly acidic, moist, but well-drained soil -Growing Height: 50-75 feet Bur Oak One of the defining features of this tree is that it has unique acorns. They are larger than other trees and are fringed. It grows in a round shape that is dense with leaves, offering lovely shade and is able to tolerate heat stress and pollution. In the fall the leaves of this oak tree can turn either yellow/green, muted yellow, or yellow/brown. Specifications: -Growing Zones: 3-8 -Sun Tolerance: Full sun, which can equate to 6 hours of uninterrupted sunlight each day -Soil: Needs neutral to alkaline soil -Growing Height: 60-80 feet Pin Oak Typically found along rivers in eastern and central US, this oak tree’s unique feature is its distinctive branching pattern. It has large leaves that are pointed with sweeping U-shaped spaces between lobes. The leaves in the fall turn a scarlet red and eventually become bronze later in the fall. Specifications: -Growing Zone: 4-8 -Sun Tolerance: Full sun, which can equate to 6 hours of uninterrupted sunlight each day -Soil: Needs slightly acidic soil. Can tolerate wet and heavy clay soils -Growing Height: 60-70 feet Live Oak These are not usually super tall but they do have winding and spiraling branches which have the ability to grow into a massive diameter, larger than other oak trees, and this helps to provide a large area of shade. Another special thing about this particular type of tree is that it is the only evergreen, not a deciduous tree like the rest. This specific oak tree is one of the strongest and was used in colonial times for making ships in the US Navy. The glossy leathery leaves on this tree are 1-3 inches long and are dark green with lighter green underneath, which lasts during the entire winter. These bespoke fitted alcove TV, display and storage cabinets were handcrafted by Claude Clémaron for a period property in southwest London. The green-painted oak cabinetry provides a variety of open and concealed storage. Tall bifold doors are designed to hide the large black TV screen when it’s not in use and maintain the aesthetic of the living space. The made to measure, floor to ceiling cabinets have been made in natural oak and painted green, in a deep, heritage shade. The spray painted matt finish retains the beautiful appearance of the oak wood’s grain and texture. The painted finish is Green Smoke no 47 by Farrow and Ball, a smoky green, popular in late 19th century interiors. LED lights enhance the units with a subtle glow, while also illuminating the items on display. Timeless craftsmanship for classic interiors The classic bespoke built-in cabinetry features fluted pilasters, decorative elements resembling a column and the mark of fine craftsmanship. Flutes are vertical concave grooves carved into the surface of the pilaster, adding texture and visual interest to the pilaster and bringing a luxuriously elegant look to the cabinetry. The lower cupboards feature soft closing, push to open doors, handle-free doors. This has the effect of a panelled look without the distraction of extra hardware. Built in fire surround with mantle We created a simple built in integrated fire surround with a shallow decorative mantle for the existing wood burner stove. The fake chimneybreast for the fireplace has a distinctive panel design and visually connects the two alcove cabinets to appear as one continuous wall fitment.
