This home stuck to a monochrome color palette throughout, to tie the open spaces together. A variety of textures kept the color scheme fresh and interesting. Diverse shapes were added here to change up an otherwise angular and square space.

Kitchen design and cabinetry – Studio Dearborn. This historic colonial in Edgemont NY was home in the 1930s and 40s to the world famous Walter Winchell, gossip commentator. The home underwent a 2 year gut renovation with an addition and relocation of the kitchen, along with other extensive renovations. Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Homes Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA Interior design, space planning and architectural details converge thoughtfully in this transformative project. A 15-year old, 9,000 sf. home with generic interior finishes and odd layout needed bold, modern, fun and highly functional transformation for a large bustling family. To redefine the soul of this home, texture and light were given primary consideration. Elegant contemporary finishes, a warm color palette and dramatic lighting defined modern style throughout. A cascading chandelier by Stone Lighting in the entry makes a strong entry statement. Walls were removed to allow the kitchen/great/dining room to become a vibrant social center. A minimalist design approach is the perfect backdrop for the diverse art collection. Yet, the home is still highly functional for the entire family. We added windows, fireplaces, water features, and extended the home out to an expansive patio and yard. The cavernous beige basement became an entertaining mecca, with a glowing modern wine-room, full bar, media room, arcade, billiards room and professional gym. Bathrooms were all designed with personality and craftsmanship, featuring unique tiles, floating wood vanities and striking lighting. This project was a 50/50 collaboration between Rodwin Architecture and Kimball Modern

This is my kitchen remodel. There were two walls removed from a nook area at the second window. We raised the windows and made our own stained glass windows (transom now shown) and leaded glass doors for our built-in China cabinet. This was a 12 foot square with three doorways. Love it every day since 2003. A local artist painted a full length French waiter on our Sub Zero refrigerator.

Dura Supreme's Valencia Classic doors in cherry ginger really made this kitchen remodel in La Grande, OR. The counters are quartz by EOBE in Pendleton. The base lazy Susan door is radius lending extra style. They are snow birds so in order to prevent water damage from a busted pipe in the winter, we did a shut off water valve over the paneled refrigerator.

This house was built for entertainment by the president of the university. Before Dura Supreme had decorative hoods, I designed the hood over the large cooktop, which is accessible from either side. The cabinets were Venice and Sophia in cherry burgundy and the counters were Red Sunset granite. The island was built for carts to slide in and out for serving a crowd. Many parties were held there until they moved.

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. The glass bowl was made in the glass studio owned by the owner which is adjacent to the residence. The mirror is a repurposed window. The door is repurposed from a boarding house. George Mendel
