This custom kitchen is part of an adventuresome project my wife and I embarked upon to create a complete apartment in the basement of our townhouse. We designed a floor plan that creatively and efficiently used all of the 385-square-foot-space, without sacrificing beauty, comfort or function – and all without breaking the bank! To maximize our budget, we did the work ourselves and added everything from thrift store finds to DIY wall art to bring it all together. We designed and built custom kitchen cabinets to maximize every inch of space. The island/bar provides a comfortable eating area as well as lots of extra counter space and storage.

Dramatic & contemporary walk-in closet in Linear Ash finish, with some added sparkle from Glam-X door handles and drawer knobs. Custom solution complete with angled shoe shelving, soft close drawer and door hardware.

In this renovation, the once-framed closed-in double-door closet in the laundry room was converted to a locker storage system with room for roll-out laundry basket drawer and a broom closet. The laundry soap is contained in the large drawer beside the washing machine. Behind the mirror, an oversized custom medicine cabinet houses small everyday items such as shoe polish, small tools, masks...etc. The off-white cabinetry and slate were existing. To blend in the off-white cabinetry, walnut accents were added with black hardware.

This space was In dire need of a remodel, with old brown wall to wall tiles and a dated bulky yellow brown single sink vanity. Storage was a must, lighting a necessity, and proper accessibility to the shower bath area. We had a tight budget to respect, but a full gut of this bathroom was required. And a good thing too, once we started doing the demolition we noticed that mildew and rotting floors and walls had accumulated throughout the years. Doing it right the first time is no joke when dealing with water and electrical issues. We discarded all reminisce of old and built from scratch, new walls, new plumbing, new electrical ,new insulation and a new window, a new fan that actually exhausted outside ( I say this laughing as you would be amazed at how many fans are installed but don’t exhaust outside, and you the client would never know unless you go inside the attic space. Once all the hard stuff was done, the rest is just a matter of smart design. If you have a small bathroom here are some tips to guide you. 10 tips for making a small bathroom feel larger Is your tiny bathroom cramping your functionality and style, leaving you longing for the enormous bathrooms gracing the pages of design magazines? This galley style kitchen is a chef's delight with a comfortable golden triangle, exceptional appliances and functional features in the cabinetry. The European style frameless cabinetry consists of premium hard rock maple melamine boxes, doors and drawer fronts, finished in a weathered slate spray stain with satin finish lacquer. Features include soft-close cabinet doors and blu-motion slides in the drawers. The perimeter counter tops are organic white quartz. The rectangular glass tile back splash selection further complements the glass and stainless steel of the cabinetry and appliances, tying the entire look together. The sleek stainless steel appliances integrate perfectly with the clean lines of the European style cabinetry, and are a perfect complement to the adjacent upper cabinetry section of stainless steel hinged glass doors. Even the oven door handle mirrors the sleek styling of the stainless steel drawer and door pull hardware on all the cabinetry. The addition of decor accents in vibrant orange and red adds interest and character to the cool colour palette of the neutral grey tones in the cabinetry and finishes.
