The Master Bedroom wall is covered in a textured wallpaper, that provides both warmth and texture. The openings at the balconies both in the Master Bedroom and in the guest bedroom areas were enlarged, and new railings inserted, that allow for uninterrupted views to the outside views through the two-story loft area. Black-out curtains may be drawn in each of these balconies to provide total escape from daylight. The two story glass wall itself is furnished with mechanized shades that come down to provide shield of the western light.

Kids are drawn to bold shapes like the rectangles that create the modern design of our Piper bed. It’s hand-welded from natural steel and comes in enough powder-coat colors to fill a box of crayons. Wood veneer panels lend a striking contrast to the steel and keeps pillows and bedding in place.

Kitchen designer Shelby Puetz of Regarding Kitchens has an obvious knack for making people’s dreams come true when it comes to the style, tone and flavor of the kitchen remodel they desire. When she tackled a complete renovation for this Olathe kitchen that had been stuck in the 1990s for quite some time, she had her work cut out for her. While the husband of the home was drawn to a contemporary ambiance with minimalist undertones, the wife favored a more traditional appeal. A jewel box townhouse with a high/low approach gave our busy working couple a design-forward space, arousing a new sense of happiness and pride in their home. With a love for entertaining, our clients needed a space that would meet their functional needs and be a reflection of them. They brought on Pulp to create a vision that would functionally articulate their style. Our design team imagined this edgy concept with lots of unique style elements, texture, and contrast. Pulp mixed luxury items, such as the bone-inlay cocktail table and textual black croc wall covering, and offset them with more affordable whimsical touches, like individual framed feathers. Beth and Carolina pushed their tastes to the limit with unexpected touches, like the split face bookends and the teak hand chair, to add a quirky layer and graphic edge that our homeowners would come to fall in love with.

When this suburban family decided to renovate their kitchen, they knew that they wanted a little more space. Advance Design worked together with the homeowner to design a kitchen that would work for a large family who loved to gather regularly and always ended up in the kitchen! So the project began with extending out an exterior wall to accommodate a larger island and more moving-around space between the island and the perimeter cabinetry. Style was important to the cook, who began collecting accessories and photos of the look she loved for months prior to the project design. She was drawn to the brightness of whites and grays, and the design accentuated this color palette brilliantly with the incorporation of a warm shade of brown woods that originated from a dining room table that was a family favorite. Classic gray and white cabinetry from Dura Supreme hits the mark creating a perfect balance between bright and subdued. Hints of gray appear in the bead board detail peeking just behind glass doors, and in the application of the handsome floating wood shelves between cabinets. White subway tile is made extra interesting with the application of dark gray grout lines causing it to be a subtle but noticeable detail worthy of attention. Suede quartz Silestone graces the countertops with a soft matte hint of color that contrasts nicely with the presence of white painted cabinetry finished smartly with the brightness of a milky white farm sink. Old melds nicely with new, as antique bronze accents are sprinkled throughout hardware and fixtures, and work together unassumingly with the sleekness of stainless steel appliances. The grace and timelessness of this sparkling new kitchen maintains the charm and character of a space that has seen generations past. Home design - 1950s home design idea in Boston

Our client was drawn to the property in Wesley Heights as it was in an established neighborhood of stately homes, on a quiet street with views of park. They wanted a traditional home for their young family with great entertaining spaces that took full advantage of the site. The site was the challenge. The natural grade of the site was far from traditional. The natural grade at the rear of the property was about thirty feet above the street level. Large mature trees provided shade and needed to be preserved. The solution was sectional. The first floor level was elevated from the street by 12 feet, with French doors facing the park. We created a courtyard at the first floor level that provide an outdoor entertaining space, with French doors that open the home to the courtyard.. By elevating the first floor level, we were able to allow on-grade parking and a private direct entrance to the lower level pub "Mulligans". An arched passage affords access to the courtyard from a shared driveway with the neighboring homes, while the stone fountain provides a focus. A sweeping stone stair anchors one of the existing mature trees that was preserved and leads to the elevated rear garden. The second floor master suite opens to a sitting porch at the level of the upper garden, providing the third level of outdoor space that can be used for the children to play. The home's traditional language is in context with its neighbors, while the design allows each of the three primary levels of the home to relate directly to the outside. Liatris, also known as Gay Feather or Blazing Star, is a plant with wonderful texture! Butterflies are drawn in droves to its spiky flowers and they become a beautiful part of the display. They come in compact varieties, like these 'Kobolds'. Others can get very tall and are best staked or planted against a structure that will give them some support. All of them are quite narrow and they work very well in mass plantings.

Wall to wall sheer traversing drapery soften the sliders in this newly renovated living room. The sheer traversing drapery was configured for multiple options. Here, the panels are stacked to create what appears to be two large window openings but united by one continuous traversing rod. When desired, the panels can all traverse to the far left to expose the large slider when the door is to be opened. When the sheers are drawn closed all the panels come together to appear as if it's one continuous drapery.
