This gorgeous wide plank antique Oak is our most requested floor! With dramatic widths ranging from 6 to 12 inches (14 inches in some cases), you can easily bring an old-world charm into your home. This product comes to you completely pre-finished and ready to install. We start by hand sanding the surface, beveling the edges ever so slightly, and being careful to preserve the historical integrity of the planks. Typically, about 80% of your flooring will be "Smooth" with the remaining 20% having a slight texture from the original saw kerfs. This material will also have nail holes, knots, and checks which only adds to the unique character. Next, we apply Waterlox, a tung oil based sealant with or without stain added. Finally, 3 coats of Vermont Polywhey finish are added with a hand buffing between coats. The result is a luxurious satiny finish that you can only get from Historic Flooring! Mark Rosenhaus, CKD. The cabinet sizes are based on Fibonacci Numbers to create a composition similar to a three dimensional Mondrian. The inspiration comes from the space itself. Various beams, heat pipe and gas meter dictate the sizes of the cabinets. Pleasing squares, Golden Rectangles, negative space and horizontal lift up doors whirl around the 10’ high space in a spiral pattern similar to the Nautilus seashell. The ribbed sliding glass doors allow access to the cabinet without open doors in your face and also give direction. The husband liked modern and the wife wanted Shaker, but rescinded in order to have the curve and circle she also loved. The shapes are a metaphor for steam and bubbles rising over the stove.

We used a found branch from a Juniper tree for a handle to the screen door.

Inspiration for a mid-sized contemporary front yard concrete paver patio remodel in Los Angeles

This Austin 'man cave' required a unique installation where the door did not intrude into the living area. The door follows the roof line to create maximum space, air and light into the room, allowing the owner to entertain friends and family with ease. For this unique installation, we used a LIftMaster operator mount to secure the track to the ceiling. This bracket was customized to match the hardware of the overhead full-view garage door, as well as the homeowner's chandelier. The door was custom-built and expertly installed by Cedar Park Overhead Doors, which has been serving the greater Austin area for more than 30 years. Photo credit: Jenn Leaver
