These environmentally conscious homeowners have always hoped for a light and bright kitchen. Having tried new paint and DIY fixes, they knew the next step was a full kitchen remodel. The new kitchen was designed to incorporate more storage, additional countertop space, and a focus on bringing light within the room. White cabinets, custom handmade recycled glass countertops by Dakota Surfaces, and white backsplash surround the room. Bringing in natural light, two additional windows were added with a view of the back yard and two new solatubes were installed for additional natural light. LED solatube light kits were included, LED undercabinet lighting and an LED entry light complete the light package. To tie in the existing home, the existing hardwoods were refinished and stained to match the front of the home along with new millwork and trim in coordinating styles. The whole space provides not only a functional space but a wonderful feeling of sunshine when you walk into the room.

The laundry room is a narrow space that needs utility storage as well as a pantry. New full height cabinets are to the left of the new washer and dryer, and a new base and wall cabinet are on the right. The opposite wall contained the original utility closet. This was modified with new shelves and drawers to provide pantry storage. The original swinging door was replaced with a custom sliding barn door. New sun shades on the window and back door completes the new look. JRY & Co.

Turquoise and frosted glass exposed rail, rolling doors are a bright color popping contrast to the light muted greys, cremes and whites of this decor. These doors are used to close off the kitchen when entertaining is done in this dining area. Light grey ministrip engineered flooring is used throughout this home. Recessed, low profile L.E.D. light fixtures were installed in the original T&G wood ceiling. Dark tobacco, natural fiber shades were installed in front of the new aluminum, bronze finished Low E windows. The light grey wall color and white ceiling, beams and trim are a nice contast to the grey flooring.

Madrona Passive House, a new Seattle home designed by SHED Architecture & Design and built by Hammer & Hand, combines contemporary design with high performance building to create an environmentally responsive and resource-efficient house. The home’s airtight, super-insulated building envelope and passive design minimize energy consumption while providing superior thermal comfort to occupants. A heat recovery ventilator supplies constant fresh air to the home’s interior while recovering 90% of thermal energy from exhaust air for reuse inside. A rooftop solar photovoltaic array will provide enough energy to offset most, perhaps all, of the home’s energy consumption on a net annual basis. To manage stormwater the project employs permeable pavers for site hardscape and two cisterns to capture and control rainwater from the home’s roof and the green roof on the garage. By investing in sustainable site development strategies, efficient building systems and an advanced envelope, the project aims to respect the home’s environmentally critical site and achieve one of the world’s most demanding building energy standards: Passive House. Inspiration for a contemporary home design remodel in New York

Custom metal ceiling grille with powder coating. Designing, engineering, lighting and hanging system by HMH Iron Design. To start with, we used stainless steel in production. Then we finish it by white powder coat which makes it look modern and futuristic. To enhance comfort and effectiveness, we also added a LED light bars. Latter are great compliments for office interior design. All details organically fit to the design style which reminds more industrial. In addition, we combined strict lines of custom metal ceiling grilles with round in the center to create a decorative object. You can also view our other ceiling jobs here.

Globe Electric's 4.5W (40W equivalent) Vintage Candelabra LED Light Bulb is a perfect way to add style and pizzazz to your home.
