This kitchen transformation began with a dream for a light and bright kitchen that functions beautifully in a classic style that will never feel tired or dated. The homeowners never looked back as we tore out the old red linoleum floor and the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining area. A door connecting the kitchen to the bedroom corridor was closed off to maximize the counter and storage space and a new door was added to an adjacent office/guest bedroom to provide easy access to the kitchen. Snow white cabinets, white marble quartz and glossy white ceramic backsplash tile was paired with warm woods and revere pewter walls to create a bright yet inviting space. Deep drawers were chosen for plate and glassware storage. Trash and heavy duty butcher block cutting board rollouts offer convenience. A built in floor to ceiling pantry includes rollout drawers for easy access to dry food storage. An island microwave makes the task of quickly heating food accessible to even the youngest family members. Our favorite details include a gorgeous live edge buffet counter, cozy built-in eating nook with an heirloom dining table and a budget friendly dining nook pendant with a custom diffuser and cord added by a local light lighting shop. The best part about this kitchen transformation was seeing the joy on the family’s faces when it was complete! This kitchen will be cherished for years and years to come!

This kitchen was designed for a family that loves to cook, gather, and make memories together - but the original layout wasn’t quite up to the task. The small island and tiered bar created separation rather than connection, and storage was lacking for such a well-loved space.
By extending and re-orienting the island, we not only created more prep space but also expanded the pantry for added function. A fresh coat of warm white paint, paired with creamy cabinetry, helped brighten the space while keeping the rich cherry hardwoods feeling balanced. We maximized storage with under-island cabinets and a secondary row of uppers, ensuring every inch was put to good use. A counter-depth fridge improved traffic flow, and a sleek barn door on the pantry allowed for easy access without disrupting seating at the island.
The result? A kitchen that truly lives up to its name - open, welcoming, and ready for every gathering.

My client called me in for a "Design Perspective". She hated her floors and wanted my professional opinion. I questioned whether I should be brutally honest, and her response was "absolutely". Then truth be told, "your countertops bother me more than your floors". My client has a stunningly beautiful home and her countertops were not in "the same league". So the project scope expanded from new floors to include countertops, backsplash, plumbing fixtures and hardware. While we were at it, her overly froufrou corbels were updated along with dishwashers that "drove her crazy". Since there was plenty of "demo" in store, she elected to lower her breakfast bar to counter height at the same time to connect her nook more seamlessly with her kitchen.
The process: at our first slab warehouse stop, within ten minutes, we uncovered the most beautiful slabs of Taj Mahal ever. No need to keep looking. The slabs had perfect coloration and veining. So different from any other slab of Taj Mahal, it really ought to have its own name. Countertop selection was easy as was the subway and Arabesque backsplash tile. Polished chrome, with its blend of warm and cool tones, was the obvious choice for her plumbing fixture and hardware finish. Finding the right floor tile was what proved to be most challenging, but my client was up to the task. Several weeks of shopping and numerous samples hauled home led us to the perfect limestone.
Once her room was complete, better barstools were in order. Hancock and Moore with their huge assortment of leather colors and textures was our clear choice. The Ellie barstools selected embody the perfect blend of form and comfort.
Her new limestone flooring extends into her Butler's pantry, pool bath, powder bath and sewing room, so wait, there is still more to do.

The client wanted a stylish and contemporary open space with harmony flowing through the kitchen, dining and living area…not an easy task. We recruited the painters for a fresh new colour palette of greige and turquoise. We selected a new neutral-toned area rug for living room, and a colourful turquoise rug for the dining area. We assisted the client in all material selections, finishes, furniture, cushions, colours and the open plan floor plan and design. The entire living space is uncluttered, cohesive, and casual…exactly what the clients asked for.
Materials used:
Sherwin Williams paint, Fireplace stone wall, stained oak floor, neutral area rugs, original artwork, wood coffee and end tables, contemporary sectional, turquoise accent chair, turquoise leather stools

The goal of their remodel was to create a warm and inviting kitchen and family room, great room-like space that worked with the rest of the home’s floor plan.
The focal point of the new kitchen is a large center island around which the family can gather to prepare meals. Exotic granite countertops and furniture quality light-colored cabinets provide a warm, inviting feel. A wide plank hardwood floor continues from the kitchen to the family room and beyond, tying the spaces together. Stunning craftsmanship created this beautiful wall of cabinetry which houses the home’s entertainment system.
