The owner of this home in Maine involved Koncerted in the design process from day one, allowing us to create unique, integrated systems with no workarounds. Design was first priority for this client, so all tech—including whole home audio, full surveillance, video doorbells, home entertainment, and five televisions—was chosen and installed with a minimalist aesthetic in mind. This secure, tech-enabled home also has as its centerpiece a custom-made floating staircase with embedded motion-sensored LED lights that give it a glowing effect. This client was looking to create a guest bathroom that had more of an "East Coast" feel. The vanity has inset doors and drawers. Wainscoting was added around the entire bathroom. The pony wall was added to the tub to accommodate fixtures to be within reach. One niche was added above the tub and another was added in the shower (away from view). With creamy walls, bright wood, and embedded wall lights, there's a lot to like about this contemporary staircase, but it's the round stainless steel railing that really catches the eye and completes the look without overpowering everything else.

To avoid the unattractive jumble of too many wires and boxes, we included an AV closet in our design. The basement ceiling has speakers embedded in multiple zones which are wired via hidden conduit to the television and music systems in the closet. The systems are controlled remotely. In this way, our clients can watch or listen to different games or music in each zone with a click of a button--without the clutter.

Image Quest Photography - Turf areas were limited to minimize watering needs.Drought resistant, native landscaping was selected . The gutter and downspout system carry rainwater away from the foundation and is over sized to avoid clogs, and buried int a dry creek bed with a catch reservoir to avoid erosion and drainage onto another property. A drainage plane system was installed behind the exterior siding; the stucco is acrylic with embedded color to avoid having to paint in the future.
