Master bath remodel with Wood-Mode frameless cabinetry in vintage off-white finish. Cabinetry consists of a vanity with (2) sinks and tall linen cabinet at each end as well as an independent makeup table. Cabinetry hardware is a crystal knob with a polished chrome base.

Ivory plaster walls atop a rich taupe tongue and groove wainscot envelope this traditional mountain home’s light-filled living room. A two-tiered bronze chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and dark exposed beams coordinate with the walnut-stained window trim, stair rail and hardwood floors. The focal point is an expansive cast stone fireplace topped with a bucolic landscape painting in hues of blue, green, gold and brown. Ornate candlesticks provide glimmers of gold while a crackled vase alongside them finishes the mantel. Offering the perfect fireside perch is a pair of velvet benches in aqua with rich, ebony legs.
An elegant seating group is anchored by an Oushak rug in tones of vanilla, beige and Tiffany blue. Two Chesterfield sofas covered in cream chenille are accented with bronze nails. Sage green paisley throw pillows are boxed in the same velvet that covers the benches. A pop of color comes via a pair of light turquoise pottery lamps that rest on charcoal grey side tables with turned legs and pie-crust edges. French lounge chairs are upholstered with a diamond geometric fabric in heather and ecru, and warm white matelassé throw pillows are trimmed in seafoam green. An oak sofa table in wire-brushed taupe holds wheat leather-bound books and glass hurricane candleholders that reflect the light washing in from the South Carolina sky. Linen draperies in an aqua and eggshell leaf stripe pattern frame a generously sized window, showcasing the mountain views beyond the porch.

Dark maple cabinets. Wood-like tile floors. Three islands. Exotic granite. Stainless steel appliances. Custom stainless steel hood. Glass contemporary light fixtures. Tray ceiling.

Inspiration for a mid-sized eclectic medium tone wood floor kitchen/dining room combo remodel in Charlotte with white walls

This Greek Revival row house in Boerum Hill was previously owned by a local architect who renovated it several times, including the addition of a two-story steel and glass extension at the rear. The new owners came to us seeking to restore the house and its original formality, while adapting it to the modern needs of a family of five. The detailing of the 25 x 36 foot structure had been lost and required some sleuthing into the history of Greek Revival style in historic Brooklyn neighborhoods.
In addition to completely re-framing the interior, the house also required a new south-facing brick façade due to significant deterioration. The modern extension was replaced with a more traditionally detailed wood and copper- clad bay, still open to natural light and the garden view without sacrificing comfort. The kitchen was relocated from the first floor to the garden level with an adjacent formal dining room. Both rooms were enlarged from their previous iterations to accommodate weekly dinners with extended family. The kitchen includes a home office and breakfast nook that doubles as a homework station. The cellar level was further excavated to accommodate finished storage space and a playroom where activity can be monitored from the kitchen workspaces.
The parlor floor is now reserved for entertaining. New pocket doors can be closed to separate the formal front parlor from the more relaxed back portion, where the family plays games or watches TV together. At the end of the hall, a powder room with brass details, and a luxe bar with antique mirrored backsplash and stone tile flooring, leads to the deck and direct garden access. Because of the property width, the house is able to provide ample space for the interior program within a shorter footprint. This allows the garden to remain expansive, with a small lawn for play, an outdoor food preparation area with a cast-in-place concrete bench, and a place for entertaining towards the rear. The newly designed landscaping will continue to develop, further enhancing the yard’s feeling of escape, and filling-in the views from the kitchen and back parlor above. A less visible, but equally as conscious, addition is a rooftop PV solar array that provides nearly 100% of the daily electrical usage, with the exception of the AC system on hot summer days.
The well-appointed interiors connect the traditional backdrop of the home to a youthful take on classic design and functionality. The materials are elegant without being precious, accommodating a young, growing family. Unique colors and patterns provide a feeling of luxury while inviting inhabitants and guests to relax and enjoy this classic Brooklyn brownstone.
This project won runner-up in the architecture category for the 2017 NYC&G Innovation in Design Awards and was featured in The American House: 100 Contemporary Homes.

This tropically inspired master bedroom’s window treatments are a combination of natural woven wood shades with attached privacy liners that offer light control and privacy when fully lowered, and stationary drapery panels that serve both to soften and unite the rear expanse of the bay wall in this space. The cool neutral color palette of soft green, cream and taupes beckon a restful space to relax at the end of the day.

A masterpiece of light and design, this gorgeous Beverly Hills contemporary is filled with incredible moments, offering the perfect balance of intimate corners and open spaces.
A large driveway with space for ten cars is complete with a contemporary fountain wall that beckons guests inside. An amazing pivot door opens to an airy foyer and light-filled corridor with sliding walls of glass and high ceilings enhancing the space and scale of every room. An elegant study features a tranquil outdoor garden and faces an open living area with fireplace. A formal dining room spills into the incredible gourmet Italian kitchen with butler’s pantry—complete with Miele appliances, eat-in island and Carrara marble countertops—and an additional open living area is roomy and bright. Two well-appointed powder rooms on either end of the main floor offer luxury and convenience.
Surrounded by large windows and skylights, the stairway to the second floor overlooks incredible views of the home and its natural surroundings. A gallery space awaits an owner’s art collection at the top of the landing and an elevator, accessible from every floor in the home, opens just outside the master suite. Three en-suite guest rooms are spacious and bright, all featuring walk-in closets, gorgeous bathrooms and balconies that open to exquisite canyon views. A striking master suite features a sitting area, fireplace, stunning walk-in closet with cedar wood shelving, and marble bathroom with stand-alone tub. A spacious balcony extends the entire length of the room and floor-to-ceiling windows create a feeling of openness and connection to nature.
A large grassy area accessible from the second level is ideal for relaxing and entertaining with family and friends, and features a fire pit with ample lounge seating and tall hedges for privacy and seclusion. Downstairs, an infinity pool with deck and canyon views feels like a natural extension of the home, seamlessly integrated with the indoor living areas through sliding pocket doors.
Amenities and features including a glassed-in wine room and tasting area, additional en-suite bedroom ideal for staff quarters, designer fixtures and appliances and ample parking complete this superb hillside retreat.
