This project focused on reimagining the kitchen and powder bath, bringing both spaces into something far more timeless. In the kitchen, we reworked the layout to improve flow and maximize storage, creating a space that feels both elevated and highly functional. A softly curved island anchors the room and was designed to encourage gathering while adding a sense of ease at the heart of the home. A modern coastal palette guided the design, with layered blues adding depth while keeping the overall feel light, fresh, and enduring. In the powder bath, we leaned into a more old world sensibility, introducing classic wallpaper and tailored millwork to create a space that feels collected, cohesive, and quietly impactful. The result is a home that feels thoughtfully updated, honoring its past while fully embracing the way it is meant to be lived in today.

Love is all around Dick "RJ" Valentine, especially when he enters his home garage. A professional race car driver, entrepreneur, chairman of The MBA Group of Companies, and owner of F1 Boston and F1 Outdoors kart racing facility, Dick is surrounded by some of his most prized possessions: a radiant blue Hennessey Venom Viper 650, a twin turbo Porsche, a 500e Mercedes, and a BMW model 750il, an M5 and an M6. He has driven in over 20 consecutive Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, a significant achievement given the grueling nature of this 24-hour endurance race. He uses his garage to house and service not only his personal vehicles, but his professional karts as well. That's where Lista comes in. Dick stores all his tools and parts using Lista garage workbenches with drawer cabinet pedestals, stationary riser shelves and overhead cabinets with retractable doors. This kitchen remodeling project in Illinois, is part of a whole house remodel Kitchen and Bath Shop did recently. In this kitchen, we used quartz countertops, a farmhouse sink, open shelves, and white, long-endurance cabinets.

Retractable Screens, also known as Roll-up Screens and Vertical Rolling Screens are completely customized to meet the needs of the space. Easy to see through and completely retractable, exterior Retractable Screens create a cool, comfortable, insect-free environment without sacrificing your view. Designed to provide superior solar protection, they mitigate UV damage, optimize comfort and provide daytime privacy even in windy settings. Extra sun control can be achieved by increasing thread counts and weave density. Retractable Solar Shades provide energy-efficient sun shading, shelter against bugs and mosquitoes, climate control and rain/wind reduction while allowing outward visibility. Depending on screen fabric selection, our solar shade fabric selections are capable of blocking up to 95% of ultra-violet (UV) rays–saving up to 50% of the energy used to heat and cool homes. Motorize Retractable Screens provide control at the touch of a button. Somfy Motors allow activation by wall mounted toggle switch or several different types of remote control options. These Retractable Screens will stop at upper and lower limits and are able to stop any where along the travel path on command. Optional Manual Override features allow for operation in case of power outage for motorized units. Manual Operations are available on most models. Motorized Retractable Screens equipped with Somfy RTS motors may be upgraded for use in Smart Homes and operated via Smartphone or other Mobile Devices. Retractable Screens should be retracted when not in use. The screens are raised and housed inside the aluminum housing. All major components of the system are powder coated aluminum for durability, ease of operations, and longevity. All Retractable Screens from Shade & Shutter Systems come with a 5 year Warranty, to include the Somfy Motor. Retractable Screens offer wind and rain abatement for breezy days. Many of our clients enjoy outdoor patio settings along coastal areas and beach front properties. Those areas also endure regular breezes that can be knocked down with retractable Screens for a more enjoyable experience. Upon closer inspection the effects of a craftsman's hands are apparent in these custom made kitchen pieces. Relationships amongst the various styles, rails and sides are held to tolerance to present a beautiful craftsman style kitchen. We as cabinet makers, my not overlook the details, else our work will fail in its use and presentation. The beautiful, the useful and the enduring - a motto from the craftsman era may still be found implemented today.

This project breathed new life into1940s residence, centering on the transformation of its kitchen into a traditional Craftsman farmhouse masterpiece. The design prioritizes warmth, sophistication, and an inviting atmosphere, with a prominent use of natural wood materials to ensure a timeless and enduring aesthetic. We meticulously reconfigured the kitchen's layout, seamlessly integrating a peninsula and dry bar, and opening the space to the dining room to enhance flow and connectivity. In striking contrast to the kitchen's traditional elegance, we expanded the pantry into a spacious walk-in area, featuring bold wallpaper and custom designs for maximized storage. The adjoining living room offers a relaxed and moody atmosphere, featuring dark furniture, vintage finds, and unique accents—all infused with the family's favorite green hues to foster creativity and comfort.

This nursery design has a nice little twist because it was a makeover design project for baby number two – who for a year endured a hand-me-down, bare bones nursery complete with big sis’s newborn photo still hanging over the changing table. We not only brought in some personalization and custom décor we also inserted tons of missing functionality for mom.
