The owners hail from Europe and were looking for a home built of materials that would last. The steel frame, cementitious siding, concrete and glass making up the structure will endure for many years, making the house more sustainable. Built over a basement, the two story home uses two large glass lanterns, or light tunnels, to bring in daylight to all levels. One functions as the stairwell and both exhaust heat through operable skylights at the top. The basement is also daylit by a large exterior light well that creates a small walk-out patio. The bedrooms open onto a roof deck. Downstairs the secondary bedroom suite is used as a full-time office. The open plan living space and kitchen open to the rear yard to bring in light and view. The front of the house is shaded by an ancient oak tree that was carefully preserved throughout construction. This bespoke fitted furniture for a child’s bedroom was created for our clients’ family home in Guildford, Surrey. Our clients wanted a made-to-measure suite of sustainable, handcrafted furniture in a classic design that would stand the test of time. The timeless shaker style and traditional construction in solid wood ensures a quality that will endure for generations. The built-in furniture includes floor to ceiling wardrobes, drawers, display shelves and an integrated desk that all fit perfectly with the interior architecture of our clients’ home. While the mainly closed storage looks neater and helps to minimise clutter, a set of cubby holes has been created to display toys, books, and pictures. The bespoke cabinetry is spray-painted with an eco-friendly paint from Farrow and Ball in Shadow White. This soft white with a hint of grey is a neutral, restful colour. Doors and drawers are dressed with antique brass knurled cupboard knobs. The worktop surface is a hardwearing natural light real oak wood veneer. Fully integrated cabinetry The floor to ceiling cabinetry is beautifully finished with a custom-made decorative plaster cornice. The cornice gives tall wardrobes and bookcases a finished, aesthetically pleasing look by providing a smooth transition from the top of the cabinets to the ceiling. Pull-out trays for wardrobe interiors The two low levels of full extension, soft glide trays are a super storage feature for all kinds of folded clothes, footwear, bags, and other belongings. The low-profile fronts provide easy access to the contents.

This kitchen was 24 years old with the cabinets and appliances not functioning well, the flooring was cracked and in bad shape and the kitchen needed a facelift. Audrey & Karl Schmitt chose Cabinet-S-Top because we are one-stop shop and could remodel everything from floor to ceiling. This white kitchen is a timeless beauty with a style that endures and has many design features to highlight; but the customer loves the way we separated the refrigerator and freezer with a beautiful pantry to give it a more furniture feel. Audrey and Karl praised their designer, Betty Nairn and said she is beyond awesome and is professional, creative, and easy to talk to!

Jennifer Hazen from Reico Kitchen and Bath in Charlottesville, VA, designed a transitional-inspired kitchen featuring Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen’s perimeter cabinets feature the Ganon full overlay door style in a Cottage finish, while the kitchen island is an Evergreen finish. The perimeter and coffee bar area feature countertops and full height backsplash in Hilite Venatino Gold quartz, while the island countertop features Taj Mahal Quartzite with a 3-inch mitered apron. The kitchen also features KitchenAid and Frigidaire appliances. Jennifer shared insights into the project, highlighting its unique aspects: “The clients wanted to stick with a style that would endure over time while still standing out as classy. The challenge of 8’ ceilings was addressed with an oversized custom hood, carefully constructed together like a puzzle for the installer. The island countertop features a 3-inch mitered apron, creating the appearance of a double-thick slab of Taj Mahal Quartzite. Even the dog has his own quartz top at his feeding station!
