A Pergola design allows for a light breeze and indirect sunlight to freely flow in. Creekstone efficiently utilized these perks by building the cedar structure over the swimming pool. The overhead wood panels are effortlessly supported by two pillars that extend down into split face travertine pedestal bases. To create an enduring structure, Creekstone opted to use cedar wood due to its natural resistance to bugs.To highlight the woodwork and protect this feature from playful splashes, the final product was treated with a wood stain finish.

Problems Solved Energy costs and weather can add up, but solar roofs and clever orientation make it net-zero – using the sun for power and keeping things comfortable without extra bills. Design Concept and Form The concept is straightforward – a long rectangle with sloping roofs for panels, and high windows to bring in daylight. It feels balanced and connected to the land. Construction and Materials Wood framing provides strength and tradition, built to endure while staying budget-friendly. Energy Efficiency Solar arrays power everything, with radiant heating and east/west setup for natural warmth and light – sustainable living that's easy and effective. Carefully composed to preserve privacy while opening fully toward the water, the home feels both expansive and intimate—an elevated retreat grounded in its landscape. Though modest in footprint, the residence lives generously. Four bedrooms are tucked efficiently within the plan, including a light-filled quilting studio that reflects the homeowners’ creative life. Each bedroom opens onto its own private balcony, offering moments of pause and perspective with views stretching across lake and countryside. The upper level also includes a family room, providing a quiet gathering space removed from the activity below. From here, the home’s vertical volume becomes apparent, as daylight pours down through a dramatic two-story space framed by glass facing the lake. At the center of the home, a custom steel-and-wood plank stair acts as both circulation and sculpture. Color and style were deeply influenced by the few pieces of furniture brought with them and we had a ball designing to bring out the best in those items. Classic finishes were chosen for kitchen and bathrooms, which will endure the test of time, while bolder, “personality” choices were made in other areas, such as the powder bath, guest bedroom, and study.
