This refined transitional kitchen remodel blends timeless design with modern functionality. Light shaker-style cabinetry is paired with warm wood accents, including a custom statement island and matching wood range hood, creating balance and depth throughout the space. Our modestly sized original showroom (we've since moved to a different location) was designed to show some examples of how the workstation concept can work for almost any kitchen size or style. And even though the showroom features more finishes, colors, sizes and details than a real YesterTec kitchen would have, the variations are possible because the colors of the wall and floor surfaces meander between each piece, acting as the ‘glue’ that unifies the design. Many of the prototype pieces that you see below were created in 1996 and three of them were tortured during our extensive Underwriter Laboratory tests that were required so that we could safely hide the ‘hot’ appliances when they are not being used. We still feel that the ability to conceal the ‘tech’ look of today’s appliances is what makes this concept so enduring.

The design draws on classic forms, yet each detail feels elevated and modern, creating a space that is both enduring and inviting. A curved, contemporary staircase provides a striking focal point, seamlessly connecting the main and upper levels with sculptural grace.

The cedar, from Anbrook Industries, was treated with Cromated Copper Arsenate (CCA), The smooth sawn and architecturally uniform 16" perfection shingles, in combination with the red copper used for penetration and valley flashing on this installation, provide a natural, traditional aesthetic that will endure for decades to come. What's more, the numerous hips and dormers provided an opportunity for extensive traditional cedar ridge caps.

Retractable Screens, also known as Roll-up Screens and Vertical Rolling Screens are completely customized to meet the needs of the space. Easy to see through and completely retractable, exterior Retractable Screens create a cool, comfortable, insect-free environment without sacrificing your view. Designed to provide superior solar protection, they mitigate UV damage, optimize comfort and provide daytime privacy even in windy settings. Extra sun control can be achieved by increasing thread counts and weave density. Retractable Solar Shades provide energy-efficient sun shading, shelter against bugs and mosquitoes, climate control and rain/wind reduction while allowing outward visibility. Depending on screen fabric selection, our solar shade fabric selections are capable of blocking up to 95% of ultra-violet (UV) rays–saving up to 50% of the energy used to heat and cool homes. Motorize Retractable Screens provide control at the touch of a button. Somfy Motors allow activation by wall mounted toggle switch or several different types of remote control options. These Retractable Screens will stop at upper and lower limits and are able to stop any where along the travel path on command. Optional Manual Override features allow for operation in case of power outage for motorized units. Manual Operations are available on most models. Motorized Retractable Screens equipped with Somfy RTS motors may be upgraded for use in Smart Homes and operated via Smartphone or other Mobile Devices. Retractable Screens should be retracted when not in use. The screens are raised and housed inside the aluminum housing. All major components of the system are powder coated aluminum for durability, ease of operations, and longevity. All Retractable Screens from Shade & Shutter Systems come with a 5 year Warranty, to include the Somfy Motor. Retractable Screens offer wind and rain abatement for breezy days. Many of our clients enjoy outdoor patio settings along coastal areas and beach front properties. Those areas also endure regular breezes that can be knocked down with retractable Screens for a more enjoyable experience. Pitt Street Bathroom Renovation Located in a historic home that has been thoughtfully converted into multiple apartments, this 600-square-foot residence presented a unique design challenge: creating a luxurious, highly functional bathroom within a limited footprint. We completely reimagined the existing space, removing the outdated finishes and transforming it into a timeless retreat. Classic polished chrome fixtures, marble throughout, and a custom glass shower enclosure create an elegant, enduring aesthetic. To maximize functionality, we also incorporated space for a laundry area where none previously existed—an essential upgrade without compromising the room's design. Working closely with Kohler, we carefully selected finishes that complement the home's historic character while providing modern performance. The result is a sophisticated bathroom that feels both spacious and refined, proving that exceptional design isn't limited by square footage.
