In the powder bath, we leaned into a more old world sensibility, introducing classic wallpaper and tailored millwork to create a space that feels collected, cohesive, and quietly impactful. With its enduring architectural lines, our Bingham Bath Collection makes a structural statement in any bath. Inspired by the St. John's Bridge in our very own Portland, this uniquely engineered look fits cohesively in any classic or contemporary environment.

Filled with symbolic shapes, this living room is a room with meaning. The Gothic arch is an adaptation of the rounded arch, modified during the renaissance period, now as a shape that points towards heaven and to God. We made a round, velvet upholstered ottoman with quatrefoil cut outs. The circle is an endless line, having no beginning and no end, which symbolizes the eternity of God.The quatrefoil symbolizes the four evangelists of the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The accent table is made of iron, hand forged in our iron shop, and stone. Iron is one of the elements that represents immutability and rigid strength; stone was used in temples for its enduring, solid strength. Stones were used to build alters anywhere one happened to experience a strong spiritual encounter. Soft lighting was achieved by creating a light feature. We built a piece that has art work, finished in our art department, of the apostles and over fifty lighted, hand dripped candles that can be dimmed to set the ambiance of the room. Carved on the front of the piece, as a blessing to the reader, is a portion of Numbers 6:25 "May the LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious unto you." To showcase treasured pieces we made a three piece armoire, three representing the Trinity, with hand forged iron insets in the doors. As our colors, we chose gold and red. Gold symbolizes the refinement of the Spirit, royalty and transcendence. Red speaks of the sacrifice given for us. Above the ceiling is painted as a dark sky with the Jerusalem cross. This Jerusalem cross represents Christ's command to spread the Gospel around the world, a mission that started in Jerusalem. It was part of the coat of arms of the short-lived Jerusalem Kingdom (1099-1203 AD). Our choice of dark colors as the background was intentional as it represents the dark sky on Good Friday.

Though modest in footprint, the residence lives generously. Four bedrooms are tucked efficiently within the plan, including a light-filled quilting studio that reflects the homeowners’ creative life. Each bedroom opens onto its own private balcony, offering moments of pause and perspective with views stretching across lake and countryside. The upper level also includes a family room, providing a quiet gathering space removed from the activity below. From here, the home’s vertical volume becomes apparent, as daylight pours down through a dramatic two-story space framed by glass facing the lake. At the center of the home, a custom steel-and-wood plank stair acts as both circulation and sculpture. Rising through the double-height volume, it leads the eye upward to a tall Nelson cigar lamp suspended above—an intentional moment of drama and delight. The main floor is designed around connection and flow. Kitchen, dining, and living areas exist as one continuous space, unified by light, views, and material warmth. A 12-foot-long island anchors the kitchen, serving as the natural gathering place for morning coffee, family meals, and summertime buffet-style entertaining. When fully opened, large folding accordion glass doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out, allowing the screened porch to become a true extension of the living space. Function is carefully layered throughout the plan. A mudroom entry from the tucked-under two-car garage includes a powder room and utility closet, while a generous entry closet provides essential storage and has been dimensioned to accommodate a future elevator. Designed intentionally for aging in place, the home incorporates zero-threshold access from the garage, wide halls and doorways, reinforced wall blocking for future grab bars, and infrastructure for a future elevator—ensuring long-term comfort without compromising design. Clad in dark painted board-and-batten siding, the exterior minimizes visual scale and allows the home to recede quietly into the landscape. Recessed balconies and façade elements are wrapped in warm wood-look siding, adding depth and contrast while bringing warmth into the interior. At night, light spills softly from within, and the cabin glows along the shoreline—welcoming, calm, and enduring.
