Jordan Design Build GroupThe owners engaged us to conduct a full house renovation to bring this historic stone mansion back to its former glory. One of the highest priorities was updating the main floor’s more public spaces which serve as the diplomat's primary representation areas where special events are hosted.
Worn wall-to-wall carpet was removed revealing original oak hardwood floors that were sanded and refinished with an Early American stain. Great attention to detail was given to the selection, customization and installation of new drapes, carpets and runners all of which had to complement the home’s existing antique furniture. The striking red runner gives new life to the grand hall and winding staircase and makes quite an impression upon entering the property. New ceilings, medallions, chandeliers and a fresh coat of paint elevate the spaces to their fullest potential. A customized bar was added to an adjoining sunroom that serves as spillover space for formal events and a more intimate setting for casual gatherings.
Joe McGuire DesignWhen our Boulder studio was tasked with furnishing this home, we went all out to create a gorgeous space for our clients. We decorated the bedroom with an in-stock bed, nightstand, and beautiful bedding. An original painting by an LA artist elevates the vibe and pulls the color palette together. The fireside sitting area of this home features a lovely lounge chair, and the limestone and blackened steel fireplace create a sophisticated vibe. A thick shag rug pulls the entire space together.
In the dining area, we used a light oak table and custom-designed complements. This light-filled corner engages easily with the greenery outside through large lift-and-slide doors. A stylish powder room with beautiful blue tiles adds a pop of freshness.

Portia DesignsI am a huge fan of round dining or game tables. I think it is a better way to have a conversation then rectangles which often can divide people especially when you entertain big groups of people. I custom designed a huge round walnut wood and metal table with a built in lazy susan. The husband didn’t like the idea of a round table at all at first...now he too loves this piece! This table seats 10 people. I also removed the nasty old sliding doors around the dining area and replaced them with bi-fold doors that open all the way to the backyard. This feature helped to showcase the space with a more modern, open floor plan. We created custom floor to ceiling subtle yellow and white Belgian linen ripple-fold pleated curtains. This indoor/outdoor open concept really helped when my client's kids wanted to swim. She could be in the kitchen while she could still see and hear them. I am all about creating spaces that are useful AND beautiful. I would say that I am adamant about learning what the client’s needs and wishes are for their homes before engaging in designing them.

Schwartz and ArchitectureThe proposal analyzes the site as a series of existing flows or “routes” across the landscape. The negotiation of both constructed and natural systems establishes the logic of the site plan and the orientation and organization of the new home. Conceptually, the project becomes a highly choreographed knot at the center of these routes, drawing strands in, engaging them with others, and propelling them back out again. The project’s intent is to capture and harness the physical and ephemeral sense of these latent natural movements as a way to promote in the architecture the wanderlust the surrounding landscape inspires. At heart, the client’s initial family agenda--a home as antidote to the city and basecamp for exploration--establishes the ethos and design objectives of the work.

Drapery ConnectionMany decorative components of these window treatments placed together create a highly engaging & inviting family room. We designed custom rod pocket draperies with flip panels on a bay window, and a triple window. The soft neutral face fabric of the draperies contains a subtle vine scroll pattern. The flip panels are embellished with contrast multi-colored tassels, including red to emphasize the flips’ triangular shape. These draperies were installed on short rods with decorative end caps, enhanced with contrast chair ties. The wood blinds coordinate with the neutral tone of the face fabric, providing the room with considerable light control and privacy. Three sets of custom decorative throw pillows all compliment the window treatments; one set contains multi-colored floral fabric with multi-colored rope welt, a second set contains multi-colored stripes with solid black rope welt, and the third set contains a black & neutral linen-like texture with contrast black center button & welt. All of these exclusive and fashionable elements placed together create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
