Launched in the early 2000s, Gear4music is a leading retailer of musical instruments and music equipment. From starter guitars to pro microphones and amps; the shop has a huge range of some of the biggest music brands available. Located in York, Gear4music set lead designers, Gray Architectural Design the two-part project of refurbishing their newly found office space. After a successful completion of the first phase of the refurbishment, the designers wanted to ensure the overall theme was continued through to the ‘break-out room’, as it gave the desired industrial and reclaimed look that G4M wanted. The upgrade was very much needed after G4M purchased the building – it was outdated and required a complete overhaul. This included oak floors, reclaimed pallet wood cladding and scaffold furniture.

A project collaboration with Mekastin Interiors, this project transforms a modest brick bungalow into a modern, family-oriented home that embraces both style and function. Designed for a rural property in Madawaska Valley, our clients requested a sleek, low-maintenance exterior that reflects the rural surroundings, which include a pine forest behind the house and a scenic duck pond. To honour these natural elements, the design incorporates wood timber and lattice accents, creating a balance of modern and organic materials. The layout is crafted with the family’s dynamic lifestyle in mind, offering ample spaces for both active living and quiet moments. The home features a spacious open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen with high ceilings and large windows, designed to promote family gatherings and entertaining. The new kitchen, equipped with an island and stool seating, flows effortlessly into the great room, which includes a fireplace with a concrete slab surround and a timber mantel, tying together modern and natural design elements. The home expansion includes a larger master ensuite, an additional bedroom, and a new study for a quiet space. Practical additions such as a powder room, mudroom, large pantry, and a modern kitchen further enhance the home’s functionality. A large screened porch off the dining room and kitchen offers an extended area for entertaining guests, while a wrap-around deck with a covered section provides protection from the summer sun. The design also includes a new oversized, attached two-car garage, perfect for storing sports equipment and ensuring easy access to the home. The E. F. San Juan team created custom exterior brackets for this beautiful home tucked into the natural setting of Burnt Pine Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Florida. We provided Marvin Integrity windows and doors, along with a Marvin Ultimate Multi-slide door system connecting the great room to the outdoor kitchen and dining area, which features upper louvered privacy panels above the grill area and a custom mahogany screen door. Our team also designed the interior trim package and doors. Challenges: With many pieces coming together to complete this project, working closely with architect Geoff Chick, builder Chase Green, and interior designer Allyson Runnels was paramount to a successful install. Creating cohesive details that would highlight the simple elegance of this beautiful home was a must. The homeowners desired a level of privacy for their outdoor dining area, so one challenge of creating the louvered panels in that space was making sure they perfectly aligned with the horizontal members of the porch. Solution: Our team worked together internally and with the design team to ensure each door, window, piece of trim, and bracket was a perfect match. The large custom exterior brackets beautifully set off the front elevation of the home. One of the standout elements inside is a pair of large glass barn doors with matching transoms. They frame the front entry vestibule and create interest as well as privacy. Adjacent to those is a large custom cypress barn door, also with matching transoms. The outdoor kitchen and dining area is a highlight of the home, with the great room opening to this space. E. F. San Juan provided a beautiful Marvin Ultimate Multi-slide door system that creates a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living. The desire for privacy outside gave us the opportunity to create the upper louvered panels and mahogany screen door on the porch, allowing the homeowners and guests to enjoy a meal or time together free from worry, harsh sunlight, and bugs. A new-construction, year-round vacation home was custom-built for a family to enjoy the natural beauty of West Marin, California. The home is sited on the beach, so understanding how to build on sand (instead of soil) and selecting the right materials that would withstand ongoing erosion from the ocean and salt air were both critical to the success of the project. Even in the most ideal circumstances climate can present challenges, but as this was a COVID-era project in a relatively remote location, we also faced supply chain issues and labor issues. Fortunately, we were able to draw on our decades of experience to identify solutions and work collaboratively with the geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, and subcontractors to ensure that everyone was aligned on the design vision and how we would achieve it. Our backgrounds as craftspeople and the project manager’s experience as an architect allowed our team to work in lockstep with the design team.

Most home theaters feel like an afterthought—a dark box in the basement with a few recliners. For this project, we wanted to build something that inspired pride the moment you walked in with a guest. We leaned into a Moody Transitional aesthetic, using a "color-drenching" technique with a deep, sophisticated teal across the walls, ceiling, and custom millwork. This creates an immersive, cocoon-like feel that’s as much about the atmosphere as it is about the movie. The centerpiece is the waterfall-edge stone bar. We designed this specifically so the host can pour a drink or serve appetizers without being tucked away in a kitchen or disconnected from the conversation. It bridges the gap between a high-end sports lounge and a professional-grade cinema. From the custom-curated memorabilia gallery to the digital "Now Showing" display, every detail was executed with elite craftsmanship to ensure this space feels like an extension of the homeowner’s success.

We have successfully completed the construction of a 500 sq. ft. Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in San Lorenzo, California. This fully equipped unit includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an L-shaped kitchen. The project was executed over a five-month period, incorporating the installation of dedicated electrical, and water systems to meet the client's requirements and ensure seamless functionality.

Thomas Valko of Reico Kitchen and Bath in King of Prussia, PA in collaboration with Hounddog Contracting, designed a transitional style kitchen featuring Masterpiece Cabinetry. The kitchen cabinets are in the Martel 5-piece door style in Maple in a Shortbread finish, complimented by Classic Rock Tesora Vento quartz countertops. “We love the new layout and design of our kitchen. It is both beautiful and functional! It was a challenge for us to visualize how the project would turn out, so it was extremely helpful to see the Reico 3D images while designing prior to the start of our work. We were very happy with the quality of both the cabinets and quartz we purchased from Reico,” said the client. Thomas found it challenging to optimize the smaller layout for maximum functionality. "Our biggest hurdle was determining the best spot for the island in such a compact space. Choosing the perfect location was tough," he explained. He expressed his admiration for the Shortbread color of the cabinetry, noting its consistency and ability to hold the stain well. Our design & build company successfully completed a stunning project, transforming a 3-bedroom apartment located on Read Street in Tribeca into a captivating living space for a family of four. The renovation project encompassed several key elements. We began by meticulously removing all wallpaper throughout the apartment, providing a clean canvas for the subsequent enhancements. The walls and ceilings were then expertly painted to the client's desired color palette, adding a fresh and vibrant ambiance to every room. The existing flooring was carefully sanded and stained, restoring its natural beauty and ensuring durability. To enhance both aesthetics and functionality, we installed a new countertop in the kitchen, chosen for their quality and style. Finally, the cabinets were refinished through a meticulous process of sanding and brush painting, giving them a renewed and modern appearance.
