This beautiful master bathroom remodel entailed a few unique changes. This space was remodeled to be handicap accessible. The entrance to the master bath was widen and the dam was removed for easy entry making the shower a complete walk allowing for easy entering. In the shower the bench was elongated and tiled with Marfil 12x12 polishe3d marble tile. In the shower they depressed the drain in order to successfully make the space fully accessible in a wheel chair and installed multiple grab bars. Another feature in the shower was the Hansgrohe Green shower pipe with a rain head and hand shower with a thermostatic mixer and valve trim. Formerly a custom builders house, this kitchen remodel entailed incorporating a trio of existing round-top windows into the new space plan. The hood cabinetry and Cooking wall were designed with Custom Cupboards Heartland Ply construction using raised panel doors with a "Shalimar" finish. The perimeter and island cabinets are Alder wood with a custom antiquity burnished finish. All cabinets included Blumotion full extension and soft close glides and door brake hardware. The tall display glass doored wall cabinet replaces the outdated peninsula that existed in this home.

This project began with the request to update the existing kitchen of this eclectic waterfront home on Puget Sound. The remodel entailed relocating the kitchen from the front of the house where it was limiting the window space to the back of the house overlooking the family room and dining room. We opened up the kitchen with sliding window walls to create a natural connection to the exterior. The bold colors were the owner’s vision, and they wanted the space to be fun and inviting. From the reclaimed barn wood floors to the recycled glass countertops to the Teppanyaki grill on the island and the custom stainless steel cloud hood suspended from the barrel vault ceiling, virtually everything was centered on entertaining.

This exquisite bathroom remodel located in Alpharetta, Georgia is the perfect place for any homeowner to slip away into luxurious relaxation. This bathroom transformation entailed removing two walls to reconfigure the vanity and maximize the square footage. A double vanity was placed to one wall to allow the placement of the beautiful Danae Free Standing Tub. The seamless Serenity Shower glass enclosure showcases detailed tile work and double Delta Cassidy shower rain cans and trim. An airy, spa-like feel was created by combining white marble style tile, Super White Dolomite vanity top and the Sea Salt Sherwin Williams paint on the walls. The dark grey shaker cabinets compliment the Bianco Gioia Marble Basket-weave accent tile and adds a touch of contrast and sophistication. This remodel of a mid century modern Ranch style home entailed removing walls to open up the kitchen to the rest of the house, moving the garage door to make room for a mudroom bench, and all new cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, appliances and flooring and millwork throughout the main level. We also upgraded all doors and windows.

At the edge of the Minnesota/Canadian border sits this stunning private estate. Perched on a rocky ledge overlooking an adjoined private island, the landscape install entailed blasting into the rock to form a pool. This project entailed updating a finished basement and boys' playroom that was underutilized and contained many design obstacles from lolly columns to mechanical equipment. The client wanted the space to blend with the eclectic old style of the rest of her home, and also wanted to incorporate a couple of existing custom millwork pieces. With three boys, all with varying interests from art to toy collections, the client needed this space to cater to their hobbies. Beautifully and warm mediterranean kitchen with Viking Pro appliances and gorgeous bi-level granite countertops. This project entailed a top to bottom renovation; plank hardwood flooring, maple cabinets, stainless steel appliances, beautiful mosiac glass backsplash and accent wall, new crown molding and recessed lighting including electrical and plumbing upgrades.

Manhasset Kitchen Renovation project that entailed a complete makeover including the removal of the entire kitchen down to studs and construction of a new kitchen and a new extension. French Patio Doors with full size Pella side light casement windows were installed to access a newly designed and constructed 800 Square Feet of custom stone terrace.

The Calvin Swallow Residence entailed the restoration and rehabilitation of the 1874 building in conformance with National Park Service, the Massachusetts Historical Commission and Boston’s South End Landmark District Commission. The building had been vacant and abandoned for more than 15 years. The scope of the project consisted of a full exterior restoration which includes new slate roofing, re-construction of the cornice lines, repair and mostly reconstruction of the ground level storefront windows and door, repair of the oriel window and masonry repointing. On the interior, Haycon restored the stairs and railings and constructed six apartments on the top three floors. The ground floors are offices.

Located in Boston’s historic Back Bay, this project entailed the renovation of six apartment units located above a busy commercial space. As a renovation project, the existing apartments were gutted and the floor plans were reconfigured to maximize this prime living space. High end appliances and luxury finishes transformed this rundown apartment building into modern short term rental units.

The term “forever home” is often used to describe a house that portends to meet all of one’s current and future needs. Attaining such a residence often entails moving from one’s current home, leaving behind years of memories. We had the satisfaction of collaborating with a client to make their existing home into their forever home with smart adaptations that will allow them to age in place…in the house and neighborhood they love. The site is challenging in that the front of the home is perched atop a steep incline, and the home is primarily entered via a more accessible alley in the back. Thus, the home has two “fronts.” The existing low-slung ranch/bungalow had suited this couple for many years. However, newly retired with more free time, the couple sought to create a more gracious home to enjoy entertaining indoors and out, hosting guests for extended stays, and exploring their artistic sides in a proper studio space. A successful project would be a home filled with natural light that allowed them to age in place. A “happy house.” Inspiration for the design was found in the owners’ love of 1920s Arts & Crafts bungalows and bright colors. The existing home provided design cues, such as a porch with stucco columns and shallow arches that had been concealed by a previous renovation. Building upon that, we proposed to reconfigure the roof into a cross-gable to maximize interior space on the second floor while increasing the home’s contextuality with neighboring ones. A new primary bedroom suite with bathroom, his and hers closets, and a dressing room for the lady of the house were created. To maximizing versatility, the dressing room can also be utilized as a guest room. The balance of the second floor includes a hall bathroom and large office, gallery walls to display artwork, storage areas, and even some private meditation spaces with doors hidden behind bookcases. A first-floor addition expanded the casual dining room into the rear garden and created a new art studio. To imbue the middle of the house with light, skylights were introduced over the existing stair; new screened stairwells, inspired by the work of Louis Sullivan, filter the natural light. Acknowledging practical issues of aging in place, all openings were designed to allow easy passage by a wheelchair, and bathroom accommodations include grab bars and roll-in showers. Additionally, a small first floor bathroom was expanded and, along with an adjacent bedroom, will allow for single floor living if necessary. Exterior detailing was again influenced by the Arts & Crafts tradition: deep overhangs, brackets, and tapered columns. New cedar shingles were installed, the original porch restored, and the low arch motif was re-introduced into the design. A new garden of native plantings with an outdoor room anchors the house in the landscape. While one never truly know what the future holds, creating their “forever home” gives the inhabitants peace of mind that they can live in this place that brings them joy and gives them comfort now and, in the days, to come.

The living room makeover entailed adding custom designed casework and a gorgeously veined marble fireplace surround and hearth.

A three car garage built from scratch in Centreville, VA. The project entailed developing a site plan and ensuring that the footprint of the structure meets the county's guidelines as the lot contained areas that are resource protected. We developed the architectural and structural plans for this structures and pulled all build and trade permits. The structure contains two large rooms on the main level which will be used as an exercise room. The second level contains two offices, a kitchen area, a large family room, and a jack and jill bathroom with a double vanity.

Bathroom Creation - This project entailed the construction of a half bathroom adjoining the master bedroom and kitchen to add an additional "bathroom" in the house. A washer and dryer closet was demo-ed to make way for new plumbing for the new bathroom (Toilet and sink) Result beautiful bathroom!

The importance of a properly designed home office ( especially when the space is also used as a meeting-place/showroom ) entails the comfort & positive experience of your customer in the following manner: 1. Exclusive office space with its own entrance separate from rest of home. 2. Ergonomic customer seating and ample presentation surfaces. 3. Dedicated customer computer screen(s) detailing CAD drawings & presentation in a show and tell manner. 4. Proper lighting ( LED lighting has come a long way ) 5. Practical design touches ( hooks for purses, coats, umbrella stand, refreshments area, guest WIFI, etc...) One of the greatest benefits of a home office is the freedom to design it with a distinct identity. In other words, we shouldn’t blend the workplace with the rest of our personal space, aka home.
