The overflow spa is built into the floor of the room and the water level is 6 inches above the floor. When the spa overflows the water is captured in a hidden catch basin and re-circulated back into the spa. This entire perimeter overflow spa is finished in a mix of iridescent and non-iridescent blue colored glass tile. All of the lines of the tile run true throughout the entire spa. This means you can follow a single line of tile up the front of the spa, down the interior wall, across the floor, up and over the seating, and finally out the back. These lines display a high level of craftsmanship, and can be seen running true through the spa no matter what direction you look at it from. A custom cut template is used for the radius of the interior steps in order to make sure the cut tiles blend together perfectly as they curve around. Tile is blended across right angles of interior walls with the use of a special quarter round tile. The glass tile work in this perimeter overflow spa is of the highest quality and ever little detail was carefully planned and installed masterfully. The interior of the spa features two customized king and queen chairs made specifically the client and his wife. Each chair features a total of seven massage jets. Three are aimed at their back; two for the calf muscles and two more are foot massagers. In between the king and queen chairs is a bench seat, which features more massage jets aimed at the lower back. On the opposite side of the bench are two round steps to aid in comfortably getting in and out of the spa. Fiber optic lighting is not only incorporated into the spa but also the floor and walls. Holes were drilled into the floor around the spa and fiber optic lights were inserted to be flush with the tile of the floor. The lights continue into the interior of the spa and are installed flush with the spas glass tile finish. The lights emerge from the spa and make their way up and around the walls. The result is a brush stroke of light that begins on the floor makes its way through the spa and up onto the wall. Weaving the fiber optic lighting into the floor and through the glass tile of the spa was a challenging feat but produced wonderful results. The lighting combined with the shimmer of the iridescent glass tile and overflowing water creates a very elegant indoor spa fit for a king and queen.

Located at the Toll Brothers Model Homes the Enclave at Yorba Linda. Toll Brothers envisioned a raised overflow pool with glass walls, allowing guests to see underwater from the outside. Extensive care was taken during the difficult design and build process to ensure that excellence was achieved and Toll Brothers was completely enamored with the results. This pool features a very modern look with straight, clean lines, square columns and LED lights accenting the acrylic pool walls. The bar area touts an acrylic wall and in-pool bar stools, while the tile inside the pool matches the house, bringing continuity to the entire space. An extreme amount of coordination was required for the 2.5 inch thick pieces of acrylic to fit perfectly within the slots on the columns while still maintaining the structural integrity of the pool. We were in continual communication with the structural engineer and acrylic manufacturer, ensuring that each piece fit perfectly. The completed acrylic walls were then craned over the house due to their weight. With a vanishing edge on the front three sections and a negative edge along the back, it was absolutely imperative that the pool was perfectly level and that the water filtration system operated perfectly so that the flow was even over each wall. The water cascading over the front walls collects in a trough that ties into to the rear negative edge basin, where it recirculates back into the pool. The rear negative edge was designed so as not to distract from the breathtaking view of the valley below, while the lounging deck overhangs the pool with a freestanding cover ensuring that the view is completely unobstructed. An elegant piece of artwork frames the back of the pool, completing the look for this intriguing swimming pool.

This young Toronto family wanted to maximize use of a very small severely sloping yard, so they created a series of decks on multiple levels. Custom cedar fencing along the sides provides privacy, while the protective wall of tempered glass along the front allows a full view of the "plunge" pool. The modern look is extended with a deck of acid-etched architectural concrete and an elevated 8' wide sheer descent waterfall adds a final touch of drama. The pool equipment at the back will be out of view in the cabana when it is built. (12 x 27, rectangular)

Our client came to us with a desire to take an overgrown, neglected space and transform it into a clean contemporary backyard for the family to enjoy. Having had less than stellar experiences with other contractors, they wanted to find a trustworthy company; One that would complement their style and provide excellent communication. They saw a JRP banner at their son's baseball game at Westlake High School and decided to call. After meeting with the team, they knew JRP was the firm they needed to give their backyard a complete overhaul. With a focus on sleek, clean lines, this contemporary backyard is captivating. The outdoor family room is a perfect blend of beauty, form, and function. JRP reworked the courtyard and dining area to create a space for the family to enjoy together. An outdoor pergola houses a media center and lounge. Restoration Hardware low profile furniture provides comfortable seating while maintaining a polished look. The adjacent barbecue is perfect for crafting up family dinners to enjoy amidst a Southern California sunset. Before renovating, the landscaping was an unkempt mess that felt overwhelming. Synthetic grass and concrete decking was installed to give the backyard a fresh feel while offering easy maintenance. Gorgeous hardscaping takes the outdoor area to a whole new level. The resurfaced free-form pool joins to a lounge area that's perfect for soaking up the sun while watching the kids swim. Hedges and outdoor shrubs now maintain a clean, uniformed look. A tucked-away area taken over by plants provided an opportunity to create an intimate outdoor dining space. JRP added wooden containers to accommodate touches of greenery that weren't overwhelming. Bold patterned statement flooring contrasts beautifully against a neutral palette. Additionally, our team incorporated a fireplace for a feel of coziness. Once an overlooked space, the clients and their children are now eager to spend time outdoors together. This clean contemporary backyard renovation transformed what the client called "an overgrown jungle" into a space that allows for functional outdoor living and serene luxury. Randy Angell, Designer GOLD International Award of Excellence winner - The transitional modern home was designed with large amounts of glass opening into the courtyard, creating an indoor-outdoor feel, and a visual connection among the spaces that could not be ignored. The neighboring wall, however, was not only rather imposing, but also of a style completely disconnected from our clients home. Our goal was to create a layering effect, with features of varying heights, both to add depth and dimension to the space, and to take the focus of the viewer off of the neighbor's wall.
