This mid-century remodel in North Park, San Diego featured a full kitchen remodel, renovations to two bathrooms, and other aesthetic upgrades throughout the home. The clients were excited to experiment stylistically, while incorporating their own personal style into the space. While mixing modern and mid-century elements throughout the home, the end result was exactly what the couple was looking for. All the classic elements of a well appointed home. No detail was overlooked in this amazing custom kitchen. Beautiful travertine floors done in a herringbone pattern. Hand carved corbels and medallion carvings are placed to add a more ornate detail to the open shelf units and stove wall. Mixing materials to keep the design exciting, we used marble and brick to dress the fire place wall and added a built in mahogany surround. Custom furnishing and window treatments play a big part in the home. Florals, paisleys , plaids and chenilles in warm browns, beiges and eggplant add elegance to every room.

This project was so fun! A young family wanted us to help all the way down to the final touch for their Canmore recreational property. In a 3 bedroom home, they wanted to have enough space for their family of 5 and a guest room…so we did a unique bunk style room for the kids. We love the mountain feel that this home has, with the cherry staircase, cabinetry and wood floors. All of the wood used throughout in the baseboard, casing and doors drives home that mountain modern aesthetic. We used pops of color in the art to give it some fun and life. As well as some unique rustic elements like the skiis to add that cabin feel. We love how this home turned out and we were so excited to help this client down to the final touch!

Once again, we have had the pleasure of working with this outstanding builder on another project. Aaron Mauk not only designed but supplied and installed all the cabinetry in this new home which definitely utilizes an "open" design concept throughout. Unique lighting elements are found in every room which keeps every space fun and exciting. The kitchen uses grey tones to create a cool, clean environment that showcases the breathtaking ceilings. Most of the cabinetry in the house is shown in Marsh’s “Graphite” stain on maple wood, which is a beautiful way of tying the whole home together. This home is not only beautiful, but it is functional as well. The pull down closet rods found in the laundry room extend over the washer and dryer so it can be used when needed, but easily stored out of the way when not in use. This new home build project on Shawna Way is one of the nearest and dearest to Versa. These clients were ready to enjoy their retirement with a growing family of grandchildren but needed their current space to accommodate their changing lifestyle landscape. With much excitement the existing home was demolished before their eyes to make way for their custom dream home. Incorporating mostly traditional elements with a few modern touches they were able to create a stunning and inviting dwelling for their family to enjoy together for many years to come.

This three home project in Seattle was a creative challenge we were excited to tackle. The lot sizes were long and narrow, so we decided to create a compact contemporary space. Our design team chose light solid surface elements and a dark flooring for a warmer mix. Photographer: Layne Freedle

This project was exciting from the start--a contemporary 80's house that still had its original master bathroom, with all of its intense peach color, powder blue formica counters, grainy oak cabinetry, and miles of linoleum floors....so much potential! The original bathroom was long, low-ceilinged, and narrow, with a single tall window at the far end. Knowing that the adjacent space was a walk-in closet featuring the same type of window, and that the room was in the front gable of the house, my hope was that we could gain vertical and horizontal space by removing the wall separating the two rooms, and also vault the ceiling.... We did just that, and now with a vaulted ceiling and expanded footprint, the bathroom has a luxurious and relaxing feel, just as my clients had wanted. With the gable end wall highlighted with clear cedar planks (further accenting its vertical lines and feeling so at home in the house's wooded setting), a beautiful limestone floor, a Mid-Century styled ceiling fixture, and an antique botanical print framed especially for the space-- the marriage of traditional and contemporary elements into a funky, eclectic mix, reflects the style of the house and its occupants. We transformed a Georgian brick two-story built in 1998 into an elegant, yet comfortable home for an active family that includes children and dogs. Although this Dallas home’s traditional bones were intact, the interior dark stained molding, paint, and distressed cabinetry, along with dated bathrooms and kitchen were in desperate need of an overhaul. We honored the client’s European background by using time-tested marble mosaics, slabs and countertops, and vintage style plumbing fixtures throughout the kitchen and bathrooms. We balanced these traditional elements with metallic and unique patterned wallpapers, transitional light fixtures and clean-lined furniture frames to give the home excitement while maintaining a graceful and inviting presence. We used nickel lighting and plumbing finishes throughout the home to give regal punctuation to each room. The intentional, detailed styling in this home is evident in that each room boasts its own character while remaining cohesive overall.

This 14,000 square foot Holmby Hills residence was an exciting opportunity to play with its classical footprint while adding in modern elements creating a customized home with a mixture of casual and formal spaces throughout.

We loved this project! The transformation was incredible. Our client came to us asking for a master bedroom that created a space for them to retreat to at the end of a very busy day. They moved into this beautiful estate overlooking a Connecticut vineyard that yearned for a design to compliment the architecture of the home, yet personalize the transitional taste of this young couple. We wanted to bring them elements that included clean lines with some updated tradition. Gray has been the new neutral in design lately but to set it aside from the typical use of this hue, a favorite by many today, we added a touch of gold for warmth and elegance. The client's desire for a place to read and relax allowed for a seating area where they can transition to a doorway that leads them out to a beautiful stone veranda.
