This beautiful kitchen would make anyone never want to leave their cottage. Simple, elegant and airy would be the best way to describe this design. A peaceful, yet exciting flair of finishes create a comfortable environment suited for everyone. Simplistic and natural elements make this style absolutely timeless. A calming feeling takes over when entering a kitchen that reminds us all to relax and enjoy the sound of waves. Who wouldn’t want to do their dishes in this kitchen? Now that’s a statement you don’t hear everyday.

This design was for a light-hearted couple who were relocating from the coast to Kelowna and were excited to be involved in the design process. We worked together to integrate their desires and our thoughtful design elements.
Embracing the small footprint of the kitchen we structured the space with a dropped Rist white oak wood ceiling feature with black pendant accent lighting. The kitchen also features waterfall edge quartz counters, a walk-in pantry, Wolf professional appliances and the clients must have high-end wine fridge.
The kitchen seamlessly flows through to the dining room and open concept living room featuring a concrete fireplace with a white oak beam to keep them warm and cozy through the winter season.
The staircase includes thoughtful recessed step lights with the black metal railing pairing perfectly with the layered linens and whites of the home.
The master bath features soft gloss Zellige Artisanal tile with a natural edge giving that hand-made feel. The backlit shower niche has a miter edge tile.
Vanity wall sconces added the finishing touch on this space.

We transformed a Georgian brick two-story built in 1998 into an elegant, yet comfortable home for an active family that includes children and dogs. Although this Dallas home’s traditional bones were intact, the interior dark stained molding, paint, and distressed cabinetry, along with dated bathrooms and kitchen were in desperate need of an overhaul. We honored the client’s European background by using time-tested marble mosaics, slabs and countertops, and vintage style plumbing fixtures throughout the kitchen and bathrooms. We balanced these traditional elements with metallic and unique patterned wallpapers, transitional light fixtures and clean-lined furniture frames to give the home excitement while maintaining a graceful and inviting presence. We used nickel lighting and plumbing finishes throughout the home to give regal punctuation to each room. The intentional, detailed styling in this home is evident in that each room boasts its own character while remaining cohesive overall.

This stunning renovation project features a beautifully designed white house with black accents, nestled amongst a charming neighborhood. The house boasts a spacious front yard with a lush green lawn and a vibrant yellow tree, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The red staircase leading up to the house adds a touch of elegance and provides a grand entrance. The house is situated in a desirable residential area, making it an ideal choice for families or individuals seeking a peaceful and tranquil lifestyle.
This project showcases our expertise in creating high-quality and stylish exterior finishes. We understand the importance of creating a lasting impression, and our attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this renovation. The use of bold colors, contrasting textures, and elegant design elements creates a visually appealing and inviting space.
We are confident that this project will appeal to prospective clients who value quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating beautiful and functional living spaces. We are excited to bring your vision to life and create a home that you will love for years to come.

Hi Friends!
I’m sooooooooo excited to share our first ever kitchen makeover with you!! Do you like Fixer Upper? If so, you’ll probably enjoy this kitchen makeover. It started back in June with the Interior Design phase. Ann hired me to be the interior designer for her dining room and entry way. The week we finished the entry way, she stopped by our store and said, “what room would you like to design next?”. I felt weird about telling her a room needed a makeover but she promised not to have hurt feelings! So I jumped at the idea of redoing her kitchen! She has a small kitchen but I knew we could breathe new life into it and make it a fun place to have friends over. Ann had other people give her quotes to redo the kitchen but they wanted to rip walls down and make it a major renovation project. Ann didn’t go for it and loved that I wanted to keep the original shape and size, but give it new life again.
To share the pictures of the kitchen after the remodel wouldn’t be the same without showing the before pictures.
Let’s start with the fridge wall, shall we? I didn’t like the placement of the fridge or that the island was all wood. You’ll see in the next few pictures that there is very little kitchen cabinet space so I wanted to make the island look like the rest of the cabinets and add exposed shelving above it. I sent Ann three different design ideas for the kitchen but my favorite design was one that included all retro style appliances from Big Chill. With such a small room, a retro design could incorporate fun appliances. I was elated to find out that she wanted to go with the retro appliances plan!!!
We also added white shiplap to the bottom half of the wall to add even more texture to the space.
I wanted to make the fridge the focal point of the room so I moved it to the middle, then put the island on the left and built exposed shelving to go above it. We also added LED lights under each shelf to brighten up that corner.
Let’s move on to the wall with the stove. The stove needed to be replaced, but I felt like this space also needed more storage. Here it is before:
Storage was tricky because behind the butcher block was a heater that couldn’t be covered. We decided to build a cabinet that looked like a counter but with metal on the bottom to let the heat out but still give her work space and built a custom cabinet to also provide more storage.
Scroll back up and take a look at the door to the left of the stove. The rest of Ann’s house has beautiful mahogany doors and I wanted these to match so we stripped off all the paint, sanded them down and stained them to match. I love the timeless look that gives this kitchen. Refinishing the doors was probably Johns least favorite part of this renovation. Now check out the difference!
Moving on to the sink section. The dark color of the cabinets made this space feel small. The doors and drawers were really basic so John added decorative trim to make it seem more modern and high end. Here’s a close up on those:
John also build the counter top from scratch using solid maple. That was probably the hardest part of the remodel. Not the install, but the build itself. It was definitely worth it though!
We went with a GE retro dishwasher because we wanted white. The hardware is all from Restoration Hardware. What would a kitchen makeover be without a farmhouse sink anyway??
The rug added another deign element that made the kitchen fun and fresh. The tile is from Lowes and we went with a dark gray grout. Since the windows look out to her back yard, I wanted to skip on curtains and leave it open and sunshiney.
Ann already had this antique coffee grinder and I definitely wanted to incorporate it into the kitchen design. Isn’t it awesome?!?

Mixing meaningful antiques with modern, fresh and playful elements. The crisp neutral interior color palette allows for the lake view and surrounding property to provide color excitement season by season.

We achieved this by combining traditional and contemporary elements making this room a transitional gem. Our clients wanted the space to be their new spot for entertaining, and it has become exactly that! They needed a large seating area to sit down with a group of friends that could also be used to stretch out and watch TV.

Home design - traditional home design idea in Richmond

A bright and colorful eclectic living space with elements of mid-century design as well as tropical pops and lots of plants. Featuring vintage lighting salvaged from a preserved 1960's home in Palm Springs hanging in front of a custom designed slatted feature wall. Custom art from a local San Diego artist is paired with a signed print from the artist SHAG. The sectional is custom made in an evergreen velvet. Hand painted floating cabinets and bookcases feature tropical wallpaper backing. An art tv displays a variety of curated works throughout the year.

We loved this project! The transformation was incredible. Our client came to us asking for a master bedroom that created a space for them to retreat to at the end of a very busy day. They moved into this beautiful estate overlooking a Connecticut vineyard that yearned for a design to compliment the architecture of the home, yet personalize the transitional taste of this young couple. We wanted to bring them elements that included clean lines with some updated tradition. Gray has been the new neutral in design lately but to set it aside from the typical use of this hue, a favorite by many today, we added a touch of gold for warmth and elegance. The client's desire for a place to read and relax allowed for a seating area where they can transition to a doorway that leads them out to a beautiful stone veranda. We are excited as they are able to enjoy the start of a beautiful home redesign with a space that starts and ends their day in understated luxury.

Our Louisville clients were proud new home owners who were excited to move into their home and start personalizing! We created a transitional design for their home that incorporates modern touches and classic lines to tie the spaces together. Our primary focus was to update the home and keep things feeling clean and fresh while making it comfortable for everyone in the family. We started by painting every room in their home, replacing all of their interior doors, and updating all of their light fixtures. One of the most transformative elements was the updated flooring throughout the home. We removed the oak floors and replaced them with a wide plank solid hickory which removed the yellow undertones and gave them a clean backdrop for the rest of the design. The clients really wanted to freshen up their kitchen and incorporate new appliances without starting from scratch, so we rearranged a few of their existing cabinets to make room for their new stove and range hood. We also lowered the original bar-height counter to make the kitchen feel more open to their family room. We then painted all of their cabinets a crisp white, replaced the crown molding, updated the hardware, replaced their counter top with a marble look quartz, and used a soft green mosaic tile on their backsplash. This home has a large family room, and the original fireplace was far too small and seemed to disappear under the 20 foot ceilings. So we removed the old square fireplace, replacing it with a linear gas fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling tiled surround with a custom wood mantle. This created a real focal point and helped to anchor the space. We then brought in a cozy blue sectional and a soft new rug to make this the perfect place for a family movie night. The clients have a real love of music, and wanted to create a space where they could lay back and enjoy their vinyls. So in their family room we created a custom stereo wall with floating cabinets and shelves to house all of their audio equipment and showcase a few of their favorites. We then furnished the room with clean and classically inspired pieces to tie in with the aesthetics in the rest of the home.

The perfect combination of quality, beauty and versatility, Savant provides a unifying design element that will relate well to the textures and surfaces throughout your home. Made of 100% New Zealand wool, Savant is available in 32 fresh and exciting colors.

This sprawling estate is an incredible sight see!
Soaring coffered ceilings with gorgeous winding staircases set the stage for a grand entry.
We took advantage of the classical elements of this home and built our design (at the request of our amazing clients) with a heavy nod to european traditional style. Decadent silk fabrics paired with amazingly rich wall treatments bring a luxurious feeling to every room.
Heavily carved details are found on an eclectic mix of furnishings throughout the home. We incorporated some of the clients pieces from their years of collecting and traveling. Their favorite rolled arm sofa is given new life in the library once reupholstered in a cozy woven chenille.
After completing the interior, it was time to get started on the grounds!
We were so excited to design the exterior entertaining space which includes an outdoor kitchen, living and dining areas, pergola, bath and pool.
One of our favorites for sure.
