This captivating, beautiful frosted glass wall art was created for Okura Robata Grill and Bar in La Quinta, California in the fall of 2019. Designed by Chauncey Gannett, owner and lead artist, and executed by the skilled sandblast artisans of Sans Soucie Art Glass in Palm Desert, California, the glass features a Geisha holding a traditional Uchiwa fan, standing in a landscape scene with Mount Fiji in the background, overlooking a lake, framed on both sides with Japanese Black Pine Trees.

This entry wall was only partially here before. It had a couple arches to it and on the other side of the wall was a dining room. We closed the room all in and then added a hidden door that you press on the trim and the door pops open to let you into the now speak easy that is behind the wall. Kind of a fun part of this house project.

In this particular project, the designer gave us a general direction with drawings. The goal was to create a flush LED lighting solution illuminating the bar area, giving a dramatic shading to the unique tile section.
