Coronado, CA The Alameda Residence is situated on a relatively large, yet unusually shaped lot for the beachside community of Coronado, California. The orientation of the “L” shaped main home and linear shaped guest house and covered patio create a large, open courtyard central to the plan. The majority of the spaces in the home are designed to engage the courtyard, lending a sense of openness and light to the home. The aesthetics take inspiration from the simple, clean lines of a traditional “A-frame” barn, intermixed with sleek, minimal detailing that gives the home a contemporary flair. The interior and exterior materials and colors reflect the bright, vibrant hues and textures of the seaside locale.

This light neutral comes straight from the softest colors in nature, like sand and seashells. Use it as an understated accent, or for a whole house. Pearl Gray always feels elegant. On this project Smardbuild install 6'' exposure lap siding with Cedarmill finish. Hardie Arctic White trim with smooth finish install with hidden nails system, window header include Hardie 5.5'' Crown Molding. Project include cedar tong and grove porch ceiling custom stained, new Marvin windows, aluminum gutters system. Soffit and fascia system from James Hardie with Arctic White color smooth finish.

The terraced beds providea great opportunity to mix textures, color and cascading plants. The grasses soften and anchor the wall.
