Staircase - transitional wooden u-shaped staircase idea in New York with painted risers

Previously a parquet ballroom, we embraced the grandeur of the room and went for a dramatically simple feel. The header height of the far windows/door was raised to 8' to better pull in the view. We went for a fairly large crown molding with an eye-pulling shadow line, and minimized both door and window trim. Photography by Schweitzer Creative

This Modern colonial kitchen in Westchester County was built around a dining table to accomodate a large family. Handcrafted subway tiles were used as the backsplash and to frame the windows. Tucked into the hillsides of Marin, the environment played a predominant role in defining the contemporary yet exotic style of this home. In the master bedroom, a fireplace adds a cozy design element, while an inconspicuous home theater system can be elegantly tucked away when not in use. In the master bathroom, pebbled stone tile adorn the walls of the double shower that overlooks the hillsides of Marin. A guest bathroom was designed to compliment the eclectic aesthetic of the home. While in the center of the residence, a spiral acrylic staircase climbs 3 floors acting as a consistent element, tying together the varied yet complementary styles.

This "den" was quite generous in size and allowed for both a convertable daybed and home office space. We love the unique accents that give this fairly simple space some warmth and personality. You wouldn't know it but his gorgeous backyard is actually nestled in a fairly populated residential area. This client created a secluded oasis for their simple rectangle vinyl liner pool. This Coast Spas hot tub was set partially in ground in custom stamped concrete.
