Bedroom - transitional master dark wood floor bedroom idea in Miami with gray walls

This stunning ceiling is a clear, smooth cedar with a natural finish. That finish was chosen to highlight the natural color variation in the cedar.
The ceiling was framed to allow for the change in directions of the ceiling finish. The center was vaulted for the placement of an impressive chandelier and some indirect lighting. The vaulted area is finished with decorative tin.

This project involved converting a partially finished basement into an ultimate media room with an English pub. The family is big on entertaining and enjoys watching movies and college football. It was important to combine the media area with the pub to create options for guests within the same space. Although the home has a full sized basement the staircase was centrally located, which made it difficult for special configuration. As a result, we were able to work with the existing plan be designing a media area large enough for a sectional sofa and additional seating with the English pub at the far end of the room.
The home owner had a projection screen on a bare wall with the electrical components stacked on boxes. The new plan involved installing new cabinets to accommodate components and surround the screen to give it a built-in finish. Open shelving also allows the homeowner to feature some of their collectible sports memorabilia. As if the 130 inch projection screen wasn’t large enough, the surround sound system makes you feel like you are part of the action. It is as close to the I MAX viewing experience as you are going to get in a home. Sound-deadening insulation was installed in the ceiling and walls to prevent noise from penetrating the second floor.
The design of the pub was inspired by the home owner’s favorite local pub, Brazenhead. The bar countertop with lift-top entrance was custom built by our carpenters to simulate aged wood. The finish looks rough, but it is smooth enough to wipe down easily. The top encloses the bar and provides seating for guests. A TV at the bar allows guest to follow along with the game on the big screen or tune into another game. The game table provides even another option for entertainment in the media room. Stacked stone with thick mortar joints was installed on the face of the bar and to an opposite wall containing the entrance to a wine room. Hand scrapped hardwood floors were installed in the pub portion of the media room to provide yet another touch to “Brazenhead” their own pub.
The wet bar is under a soffit area that continues into the media area due to existing duct work. We wanted to creatively find a way to separate the two spaces. Adding trim on the ceiling and front of soffit at the bar defined the area and made a great transition from the drywall soffit to the wet bar. A tin ceiling was installed which added to the ambience of the pub wet bar and further aided in defining the soffit as an intentional part of the design. Custom built wainscoting borders the perimeter of the media room. The end result allows the client to comfortably entertain in a space designed just for them.

With the original tray ceiling being a dominant feature in this space we decided to add a luxurious damask wall covering to make the room more elegant. The abstract rug adds a touch of modernity. Host and hostess chairs were custom-made for the project.

A Southwestern inspired kitchen with a mix of painted and stained over glazed cabinets is a true custom masterpiece. Rich details are everywhere combined with thoughtful design make this kitchen more than a showcase, but a great chef's kitchen too.

This beautiful kitchen ceiling tile is Gold Washed White on Pattern 23. A larger pattern with a high ceiling height brings a dynamic addition to an airy space.

Built from the ground up on 80 acres outside Dallas, Oregon, this new modern ranch house is a balanced blend of natural and industrial elements. The custom home beautifully combines various materials, unique lines and angles, and attractive finishes throughout. The property owners wanted to create a living space with a strong indoor-outdoor connection. We integrated built-in sky lights, floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings to attract ample, natural lighting. The master bathroom is spacious and features an open shower room with soaking tub and natural pebble tiling. There is custom-built cabinetry throughout the home, including extensive closet space, library shelving, and floating side tables in the master bedroom. The home flows easily from one room to the next and features a covered walkway between the garage and house. One of our favorite features in the home is the two-sided fireplace – one side facing the living room and the other facing the outdoor space. In addition to the fireplace, the homeowners can enjoy an outdoor living space including a seating area, in-ground fire pit and soaking tub.

This project focused on restoring and transforming a historic pressed tin ceiling that had accumulated significant wear over time. Years of modifications had left the ceiling with nail holes, damaged areas, missing ornamental details, and inconsistent finishes that hid much of the original craftsmanship.
Our team carefully repaired the damaged sections and rebuilt missing ornamental elements to restore the integrity of the original design. Once the repairs were complete, the entire ceiling was professionally prepared and refinished.
The ceiling and exposed HVAC ductwork were finished in Sherwin-Williams “Caviar,” a deep, rich tone that highlights the intricate patterns and architectural details of the pressed tin panels. The darker finish adds contrast and depth to the space, allowing the historic texture and decorative elements to stand out rather than blend into the background.
The result is a dramatic transformation that brings new life to the historic ceiling while preserving its character. What was once a worn and inconsistent surface is now a striking architectural feature that anchors the room and celebrates the craftsmanship of the original tin work.

The master bedroom features a tray ceiling with bedside pendant lights on independent controls. The client’s existing bed was updated with crisp modern bedding. Wall molding was installed behind the bed to add texture and highlight the room’s symmetry. Power to a new computer nook was added, which is softened by bold striped curtains. The master bedroom fireplace was also updated with a white marble surround, fire glass, and a flat screen television. A metallic finished ceiling adds to the coziness of the space, along with new carpeting.
A collaborative art installation between the designer and Lafayette artist Christopher LaBauve features recycled aluminum cans hand cut into butterflies and mounted by aluminum wire. Painted the same dense gray color of the walls, each butterfly was carefully placed to reflect its own shadow.
