Inspiration for a timeless wooden u-shaped staircase remodel in Baltimore with painted risers

One of our favorite features of the room that we helped design was this Kallax shelf unit from IKEA that we used as a bench. We IKEA-hacked the piece by creating custom storage bins to fit the units underneath (not pictured) with rose gold pulls so the piece ended up looking fully custom. We then had a cushion custom made in an ultra-luxe silk velvet with white contrast piping to lay on top. And, of course, we added fun throw pillows and the cutest stuffed animals on top! We love this kids bedroom idea as a way to fit in an additional seating area while also creating maximum storage!

When a 7 year old Brooklyn hip-kid is also an animal lover, you get this woodland boy's room, designed to grow and maximize storage. This small kid's bedroom features a storage bed, wall shelves, a spacious desk hutch, and a storage ottoman to accommodate ample toys and books, as well as a custom designed closet to suit a growing child's needs. Hipster Animals removable wallpaper is fun for a 7 year old, but still cheeky and cool enough for a teen. And while woodland animals abound, they are balanced by mature decor elements like neutral colors, dark blues, boyish plaid, and chic wool and leather textures meant to grow with child. This room is one of our favorite small space designs - it's fun, personalized, and makes the space look bigger--while also providing storage and function. The installers have been busy traveling and working their magic this week! Our recent #stairrunnerinstall came out beautifully in this Mashpee home. This antelope animal print is one of our favorites because it’s a polypropylene carpet durable for high traffic areas, comfortable under your feet, stylish and fierce, but most importantly, safe for kids and pets. The designer on this project was Samantha Ullian!
