Amy didn’t feel her office reflected her personality or style, or coordinated with the other updates made on the main floor of her home. She wanted an office that was pretty, felt inviting and comfortable for her to do office work, read or knit. She also wanted to provide seating for others to relax in the room with her and areas to display family photos, décor and house electronics. Painted in a subtle yet beautiful blush color, new life was breathed into the room. A desk and file cabinet with accents of antiqued mirrors added sparkle to the work area. A cozy desk chair, custom lounge chairs and an ottoman created with feminine fabrics provided comfortable seating. The matching bookcases hid unsightly electronics and cords and provided a landing place for treasured photos. The walls were adorned with a tapestry and framed art to add colors and textures, with the seating area grounded by a silver rug. The room was completed with florals to add that soft organic element to tie in the beautiful gardens that surround the home.

Main floor office gets lighter and brighter with white paint over older dark wood cabinets and shelves. Addition of new white plantation shutters on lower windows. Paned interior doors for semi-private but open look. Storage cabinets include lateral filing and electronics / data hidden storage areas. Durable hardwood floors continue throughout. Charcoal gray wall (painted) to the right is a perfect contrast and classic accent wall and is a perfect choice with the other white and hardwood neutrals.

A fourth bedroom was re-purposed to become a unique "man cave' for the Mr. of the house. A high use space intended for working and leisure, the credenza, topped with a custom cherry wood ellipse, creates interest and puts everything within reach with lateral files, fully integrated electronics with remote control to lower the movie screen over the bay window. Offering a bold splash of red, the cork backed canvas invites documents or photos to be pinned up easily without damaging the walls. Display niches for art, collectibles, books and music add texture and leverage space. A Scottish color palette and flexible, state-of-the-art lighting finish this inviting, functional enclave.

We wanted this office to feel contemporary with a contrast from the natural wood tones in the millwork and doors in the house. I decided to introduce rich espresso stained cabinetry and the crown molding detail brought it together. The cabinetry doors have a leather front inlay. The cabinetry is packed with function. We added file cabinets under the bench seat, an awning appliance garage for electronics, and we doubled his storage from his previous furniture. I chose Acacia Walnut Floors to complement the wood style and meet up with the maple hardwood floors just outside the door. This contemporary farmhouse is located on a scenic acreage in Greendale, BC. It features an open floor plan with room for hosting a large crowd, a large kitchen with double wall ovens, tons of counter space, a custom range hood and was designed to maximize natural light. Shed dormers with windows up high flood the living areas with daylight. The stairwells feature more windows to give them an open, airy feel, and custom black iron railings designed and crafted by a talented local blacksmith. Huge re-model including taking ceiling from a flat ceiling to a complete transformation. Bamboo custom cabinetry was given a grey stain, mixed with walnut strip on the bar and the island given a different stain. Huge amounts of storage from deep pan corner drawers, roll out trash, coffee station, built in refrigerator, wine and alcohol storage, appliance garage, pantry and appliance storage, the amounts go on and on. Floating shelves with a back that just grabs the eye takes this kitchen to another level. The clients are thrilled with this huge difference from their original space.
