Design ideas for a large rustic landscaping in Chicago.

House Amenities Security – In the front, two custom-built solid metal security doors with keys that cannot be duplicated. – In the back, an outside custom built sliding door with metal security bars and a sliding glass door on the inside. Each door requires a key. – Additional aesthetically designed metal bars have been installed on all existing metal security windows providing a more hardened and enhanced security posture. – Infrastructure (wiring and conduit) has been installed and ready for the security system of your choice – Community has an active Vecinos Vigilantes program and daily police patrols. Neighbors communicate in real time via Whatsapp on two channels. In this community, neighbors know neighbors and who belongs here and who does not belong here. Electric – A whole-house surge protector has been installed at the electrical junction box to protect against lightning strikes. Each A/C unit also has an additional surge protector at the electrical outlet. – Water – Whole house water filtration system with five filters – 3 cartridge, 1 charcoal, and a UV sterilization filter. Outside Amenities Roof was cleaned and resealed about 2 months. About 29m (95ft) of custom-designed cement planters with river rock exteriors border the house. You’ll find flowers, tomatoes, spinach, herbs and other vegetation growing year round. In front of the cement planters, you’ll find about 25 meters (80ft) of cement walkways to step on during rainy season. In fact, you can maneuver nearly all around the back and sides of the house, work in the cement planters and not get your feet muddy. A custom water drainage system was designed and installed for this property. It routes most rain water from the roof to the roadside drainage system. It works very well. Out and about in the backyard, you’ll find some young fruit trees to include guanabana, (2) limón, melocotón, mangustin, and fig. We also have several active guandu bushes (pigeon peas) to add to your rice or feed your parrot. You’ll also find a small moringa tree, along with some eucalyptus, salvia, and artemisa bushes. The property has been maintained by the same gardener for over 7 years. Community Amenities El Frances is a highly desired location because of its central location to Boquete and David and because of the private bilingual school, Academia Internacional Boquete, about 2 km south of Emerald Drive. For exploration, discovery, and family fun, you are just 10 minutes from the only skating rink in Panama – Boquete Skateworld. A popular upscale restaurant and spa (gym, pool, exercise equipment, massages) is just a 5 minute drive north to the Los Molinos properties. The largest mall and centralized bus station in western Panama is scheduled to open in 2018 and it is just 20km directly south to David. David has two cinemas, several shopping centers, office supply businesses, a grocery warehouse (Pricesmart), and a variety of other shopping opportunities. ATMs, convenience stores, and fuel stations are just 7KM down the road. Approximately 11 to 12 years remain on a 20 year tax exemption.

The ultimate goal was to enhance the aesthetic value, as well as update filtration components to provide optimum water quality to house a Japanese koi collection. A cantilevered stone walkway leads visitors to the main terrace. Waterfalls provide scenic views from inside and outside of the home, as do the koi that playfully dart around the aquatic plant life. This design and build project comprising of swimming pool, hydrotherapy and lotus pond was completed in record time for timely hand over for New Year. This heated pool overcomes high altitude temperatures and high wind speeds to always provide client with consistent 30 deg C water. The customised RGB lighting transforms the ambiance of the swimming pool by adding beauty and bit of drama. Transitional, transitional, transitional. This kitchen renovation started with the appliances; BlueStar 36" range, Best 900 cfm hood, 2 Bosch dishwashers, and Electrolux side-by-side refrigeration. The appliances were placed utilizing functionality and practicality. The kitchen also utilizes a main Kraus sink and commercial faucet as well as a Kraus island sink with a Grohe kitchen pull-out facet matching and flanking a smaller Grohe faucet which utilizes a fresh water filtration system. White shaker cabinetry is the bulk of the kitchen accompanied by a custom grey raised panel element with chrome wire mesh accenting the glass doors. Custom open shelving niches were used to tie the white kitchen into the grey element, and at the same time creating another visual cue. Vicostone (quartz) accents the island which features the use of waterfall effect (continuing the counter-top material down to the floor). ColorQuartz (quartz) was used at the perimeter and on the grey accent piece as well, also using the waterfall effect. The backsplash was done in Turkish White Marble, as every piece was custom cut and laid in a vertical chevron pattern. Cliffside Industry hardware was used combining ice-box and linear finger-pull hardware on the grey accent piece, and cup-pulls and knobs on the perimeter which all pop while the chrome finish reflects the light and appears to sparkle. A decorative ceiling displays an abundance of 4" recess lighting with Halo Reflector trims as well as two decorative pendants. Accent lighting is completed in Hafele's 12volt system with the use of chrome LED puck lighting. The family room boasts another piece that melds with the kitchen, which displays two different width of bead board for another visual effect.

Transparency is realized on multiple levels at the Landes residence, including the physical transparency of large glass openings, fiberglass grated decks that allow light filtration to a daylight basement, interior slatted fence-like wood surfaces, and numerous clerestory windows. Two Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezers are completely concealed within the cabinetry (can you spot them?). The Wolf combination convection steam oven and the Wolf convection oven are flush-mounted within the cabinetry. There is a pot-filler faucet above the Wolf range-top, and there's a drawer microwave in the island. The white cabinets which are stuffed with specialty storage accessories were custom built so there's no wasted space (see the detail photos). Also notice the stainless steel farmhouse sink, which has a Culligan reverse-osmosis water filtration system below.

The perfect winter getaway for these Pacific Northwest clients of mine. I wanted to design a space that promoted relaxation (and sunbathing!), so my team and I adorned the home almost entirely in warm neutrals. To match the distinct artwork, we made sure to add in powerful pops of black, brass, and a tad of sparkle, offering strong touches of modern flair.
