I love seeing a house go up from the blueprints to the end of the build. It is always a journey filled with a thousand decisions, some creative on-the-spot thinking and yes, usually a few stressful moments. This Naperville project was a collaboration with a local builder and architect. The Kitchen Studio collaborated by completing the cabinetry design and final layout for the entire home. The kitchen is spacious and opens into the neighboring family room. A 48” Thermador range is centered between two windows, and the sink has a view through a window into the mudroom which is a unique feature. A large island with seating and waterfall countertops creates a beautiful focal point for the room. A bank of refrigeration, including a full-size wine refrigerator completes the picture. The area between the kitchen and dining room houses a second sink and a large walk in pantry. The kitchen features many unique storage elements important to the new homeowners including in-drawer charging stations, a cutlery divider, knife block, microwave drawer, pull out trash, multiple appliance garages, spice pull outs and tray dividers. There’s not much you can’t store in this room! Cabinetry is white shaker inset styling with a gray stain on the island. The back of the island features lap style siding that coordinates with the fireplace in the neighboring family room. Mid-century inspired lighting gives the room a modern vibe. Inspiration for a transitional living room remodel in Houston

A few years after completing this NE Minneapolis homeowner’s basement, it was time to give the cold unfinished laundry room a quick facelift! With passion for design, we were focused on cleaning up the space while keeping a tight budget. The decision was made to create a finished- unfinished space. With design inspiration from Pinterest and a homeowner’s throw pillow, a chevron painted floor pattern was designed. The unfinished walls were painted a warm yellow to brighten up the room. The unfinished ceiling was painted a clean white to give the impression of height and lighten the room. Existing tables that have stood the test of time were painted white and new maple butcher block counters were installed for additional folding room. Finally, new shelving and a long hanging rod were stretched across the room. The laundry room is an eyesore no more! This masterfully appointed kitchen is both beautiful and functional. The large center island has room for seating, storage, open book shelving and wine display. The kitchen is complete with abundant natural light streaming in from the large window, the LRD can lighting, modern mini pendant lights, and under cabinet LED strip lighting. The white and grey quartz gives the beauty and elegance of marble, without any of the maintenance. The polished grey porcelain floor is the perfect anchor point to the dark cherry cabinets. The glass and stone blend for the back splash brings just enough movement and color into this upscale space.

Bathroom in Ironwood Drive | Warm Modern Home in Scottsdale, AZ | Room Type: Whole Home Remodel and Furnishings | Project Name: Ironwood Drive Residence | Key Feature: A Tuscan home transformed into a warm modern interior through a full remodel and furnishings, highlighted by a custom hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash, custom cabinetry, and a new fireplace clad in basalt black stone that anchors the living space with drama and elegance. Challenge: Tuscan homes in Scottsdale are everywhere, and the design language that defined them, heavy wood, ornate details, dark iron, and rustic stone, does not transition gracefully on its own. The goal was to shed that Old World weight and move the home into something warmer and more current without losing the character that makes a remodeled home feel intentional rather than generic. Solution: Living with Lolo led the full remodel and furnishings as a single integrated project, which meant every decision from the custom cabinetry to the final throw pillow was made in service of the same design vision. The hand-painted terracotta tile backsplash brought artisan character into the kitchen in a way that felt fresh rather than Tuscan, and the basalt black stone fireplace gave the living space a bold focal point that reads as distinctly modern. Because Lauren holds both an interior design credential and an active Arizona ROC general contractor license, the construction and design were managed under one roof with no gap between the two. Jean Rousseau creates handmade custom leather goods sold in Midtown, Manhattan. Atelier upgraded their image and customer experience by pivoting to a contemporary style this summer. This project was done under the supervision of Scharly Designer Studio as the head of design and final decision-maker. In this commercial project, an existing barber shop on Madison ave was transformed into a high-end french leather store. This was the first showroom in the United States, but the third showroom to be designed right after Paris and Japan. In this project part of the existing millwork was preserved and reused in the new design to keep the history of the space and identity of the building. New modern finishes were added such as new custom millwork for the main counter and window units to contrast the existing millwork. In this commercial project, 2MO built new cabinets for display with an oak wood finish and glass. The blue 3D wall is placed right behind the reception desk as a remarkable design feature of the store.

Featured in this kitchen is Fusion/ Chestnut cabinets on island and Fusion/ Blanc on rest of cabinets with its soft white and brown glaze accent to pull out color of island. As always loaded with customer convenant items such as Deluxe Lazy susan, pot & pan drawers, dovetail soft close rollouts and drawers, all plywood construction, glass insert doors, trash rollout. And design elements like Corbels layers of crown and hood cabinet. The back splash was just painted walls with no splash tile final decision for that area can be made. The Engineered quartz tops with ogee edge treatment on bar and 1/2" round over on rest. With laminated wood floors.

This client wanted help with the HOA process, and we were happy to help. Making all of the decisions that were both aesthetically pleasing to the family and HOA compliant took a bit, but thanks to the client's patience, we finalized every little detail and started construction. After demolishing their pre-existing wrought iron, which was much smaller than the linear footage for the future fence, we constructed a light, beautiful horizontal-board fence with a solar panel powered automatic gate to boot. As one of the only horizontal fences in the neighborhood, we're proud of the appeal that it adds to the area.
