This adorable little bathroom is in a 1930’s bungalow in Denver’s historic Park Hill neighborhood. The client hired us to help revamp their small, family bathroom. Halfway through the project we uncovered the brick wall and decided to leave the brick exposed. The texture of the brick plays well against the glossy white plumbing fixtures and the playful floor pattern. The principal Bathroom is a clean, modern space where everything has its place. The double sinks are a single, integrated top that sits upon a custom designed vanity that floats above the heated tile floor. Tall storage cabinets sit on either side with an open niche and glass shelf for often used items. Wall mounted faucets keep the countertop tidy and a wide mirror with 3 LED light strips make morning prep a little easier. The large scale porcelain floor tile wraps up the vanity wall as well as into the shower.

Beautiful white and blue tiled shower with tile from Wayne Tile in NJ. The accent floor of blue hexagon tile with the white, and wood-like floors have a beachy vibe. The white subway tile has a handcrafted appeal with its wavy finish to add subtle interest. The window doubles as a shower niche while letting in natural light.

This powder bath just off the garage and mudroom is a main bathroom for the first floor in this house, so it gets a lot of use. the heavy duty sink and full tile wall coverings help create a functional space, and the cabinetry finish is the gorgeous pop in this traditionally styled space. Winner of the 2018 Tour of Homes Best Remodel, this whole house re-design of a 1963 Bennet & Johnson mid-century raised ranch home is a beautiful example of the magic we can weave through the application of more sustainable modern design principles to existing spaces. We worked closely with our client on extensive updates to create a modernized MCM gem. Extensive alterations include: - a completely redesigned floor plan to promote a more intuitive flow throughout - vaulted the ceilings over the great room to create an amazing entrance and feeling of inspired openness - redesigned entry and driveway to be more inviting and welcoming as well as to experientially set the mid-century modern stage - the removal of a visually disruptive load bearing central wall and chimney system that formerly partitioned the homes’ entry, dining, kitchen and living rooms from each other - added clerestory windows above the new kitchen to accentuate the new vaulted ceiling line and create a greater visual continuation of indoor to outdoor space - drastically increased the access to natural light by increasing window sizes and opening up the floor plan - placed natural wood elements throughout to provide a calming palette and cohesive Pacific Northwest feel - incorporated Universal Design principles to make the home Aging In Place ready with wide hallways and accessible spaces, including single-floor living if needed - moved and completely redesigned the stairway to work for the home’s occupants and be a part of the cohesive design aesthetic - mixed custom tile layouts with more traditional tiling to create fun and playful visual experiences - custom designed and sourced MCM specific elements such as the entry screen, cabinetry and lighting - development of the downstairs for potential future use by an assisted living caretaker - energy efficiency upgrades seamlessly woven in with much improved insulation, ductless mini splits and solar gain

This newly constructed home offers an expansive floor plan with spectacular views of the countryside through the many windows seen throughout the home. The foyer commands particular attention with its floating staircase and exquisite polished porcelain flooring. Continuing into the living area, wide-planked, antiqued maple flooring grounds the room, while custom Norwalk and Fairfield furniture sits atop Karastan rugs. The kitchen is a chef’s dream come true with ample room to cook and entertain among the custom cabinets. Chisel-edge porcelain tile was installed in a random pattern, perfectly complimenting the Ash Gold granite countertops and tumbled travertine backsplash. The master suite allows for a relaxing retreat with calming colors seen in the bedding, custom silk drapery, and cozy, hand-knotted Kalaty rug. Stepping into the master bath, the porcelain tile, soaker tub, and custom tiled shower create a peaceful oasis. Kim Johnson, Interior Designer, enjoyed helping her clients select products from a variety of vendors to create a beautiful new home for this family. In the mud room, we built a coat rack with cubbies for backpacks, shoes and boots with a wainscoting back, painted in gray for contrast but coordinated with the powder room vanity and floor. The bench offers a perfect place to sit while taking off or putting on shoes. The powder room has a washable woven wallcovering and a patterned porcelain floor. The nickel chandelier is open and airy with light crystal accents, which coordinate with the vanity knobs. Six inch crown molding in ivory continues through the entire first floor.
