My clients home is a wonderful combination of styles. On the exterior, the architectural style is Georgian/Georgian Colonial, covered in used bricks. Their interiors however, are more contemporary and transitional. The combination of these styles was the design program I was given for this entryway. I configured the size, shape and frequency of the hand-beveled glass background pieces so they matched those of the used bricks on the exterior. I offered this idea to bring the exterior into the interior, and vice versa. There are many textures of clear glass used for the circular elements, as well as highlights created form hand-beveled glass as well. Since this entry faced south, I selected beveled glass with the intended effect (seen above) to flood the foyer with prismatic color cast through the beveled glass. This bathroom is a tranquil and inviting space. The tile wainscoting creates a seamless, clean line of sight leading into the shower. The decorative splash wraps the vanity and continues into the shower area, again reinforcing the clean sight lines. The mosaic is a stone and glass blend with a modern style and color pallet. The porcelain tile is maintenance free and durable. The pattern mimics the look of vein cut travertine, giving the space a natural look while maintaining the ease of maintenance. The larger format of the tiles decreases the frequency of the grout lines. The dark vanity cabinet gives a great contrast with the neutral pallet of the tile, and adds to the overall appeal of the space. The granite is subdued in its movement and compliments the modern color tones found in the decorative glass mosaic. The brushed nickel fixtures finish off the space. The square trim on the faucets and shower trim give this space a great finishing touch.

We designed this theater room from a 20’ x 28’ deep unfinished lower-level room. We used special acoustical insulation as well as wall treatments, prior to the final finishes which include; new ebony finish columns, Phillips Hue LED lighting, and angled wall frames. The rooms front angled wall frames are acoustically transparent to allow for the front acoustical panels to absorb the appropriate soundwaves. The rest of the walls are lined with acoustical panels to absorb the proper frequencies. We added a new carpet with a distinguishable pattern will conceal most stains. The rear 15’ quartzite bar includes new bar stools, and a custom diffusive detail section in the rear center of the theater flanked by two columns. The 9.2.4 Dolby Atmos layout includes a 15-speaker setup with two subwoofers calibrated for optimum sound.
